variable data type question

I want to use a variable to set the color of the text and graphics of entry by the user. I use the following code to set the variable:

var setColor:String;
setColor = "0xff0000";

strokeColorBtn_mc.addEventListener (MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, setStrokeColor);

function setStrokeColor(event:MouseEvent):void {}
setColor = "0xCCCCCC;
trace ("the new color is" + setColor);
}

It works, and I am able to use the variable to set the color of a text field type:

textFormat.color = setColor;

But when I try and use the variable to set the color of a chart element:

designContainer.graphics.beginFill (setColor, 0.1);

I get the following error:

1067: constraint implied a value of type string to and independent of type uint.

So I thought I might have to move up the chain as a uint, so I tried the following:

designContainer.graphics.beginFill (setColor as uint, 0.1);

That eliminates the error message, but it does not change the color.

Yet once, my inexperience I am perplexed.

Yet once, you cannot change setColor and expect a change in color of an object that is already created.  You can expect that anything that uses setColor, when it is changed, reflects the new color.

You should expect newline to be red because the value of setColor, when used to assign this lineStyle is 0xff0000.

    the text property of a textfield is a string, so to put this string in a variable of type number, you must first convert it to a number to
    for example.
    thickness = Number (lineThick_txt.text);

    ActionScript 2 performs this conversion automatically.

  • OBIEE 11.1.1.6.2 repository of BP1 Variable data type

    I have a few created dynamic DATE variables that retrieves date values in a table. In the table, the data type of this field is an INTEGER.

    But at the start of the server, all date variables are initialized with .0d added in the end. Like 2012,0 etc.

    Please provide some guidance!

    Of course, we can do that.
    Your substring should not be bulk init, it suppose to be where you reference variable rep.
    In the command prompt to set the default values use the query sql, something like

    SELECT time. ' ' Month ' where 'HIS' Time. "Year"= Substring (VALUEOF ("PREVIOUS_MONTH") FROM 1 to 4)

  • CHAR data type question

    Hi all

    This question is purely for updating my knowledge on the rules of comparison of data type for Oracle. I am referring
    [Types of oracle data | http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/server.111/b28318/datatype.htm#i1960]
    and
    [Datatype comparison rules | http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/server.111/b28286/sql_elements002.htm]

    So I understand that Oracle uses the semantics of white comparison comparing the CHAR data type. I was testing a few queries on the CHAR data type.
    SQL> SELECT col_1, LENGTH (col_1), col_2, LENGTH (col_2)
      2    FROM (SELECT CAST ('A' AS CHAR (2)) col_1, CAST ('A' AS CHAR (5)) col_2
      3            FROM DUAL)
      4   WHERE col_1 = col_2
      5  /

    CO LENGTH(COL_1) COL_2 LENGTH(COL_2)
    -- ------------- ----- -------------
    A              2 A                 5

    1 row selected.

    SQL>
    But when I tried using the set operators to compare data from CHAR data type I got results that confused me.
    --DDL & DMLStatements For Sample Data

    CREATE TABLE TABLE_A
    (
    col_1 CHAR(10)
    );

    INSERT INTO TABLE_A(col_1) values ('A');
    INSERT INTO TABLE_A(col_1) values ('B');

    CREATE TABLE TABLE_B
    (
    col_2 CHAR(15)
    );

    INSERT INTO TABLE_B(col_2) values ('A');
    INSERT INTO TABLE_B(col_2) values ('B');
    For reviews of col_1 in the Table_A in Table_B col_2 I used two different methods:

    Using the sub-sub-queries/join method:
    SQL> SELECT a.col_1
      2    FROM table_a a
      3   WHERE a.col_1 IN (SELECT b.col_2
      4                       FROM table_b b)
      5  /

    COL_1
    ----------
    B
    A

    2 rows selected.
    I got the expected results. Now, I tried to achieve the same thing using a game operator (INTERSECT)
    Using Set operator (INTERSECTION):
    SQL> SELECT a.col_1
      2    FROM table_a a
      3  INTERSECT
      4  SELECT b.col_2
      5    FROM table_b b
      6  /

    no rows selected

    SQL>
    I had to add the TRIM function to achieve the expected results:
    SQL> SELECT TRIM (a.col_1)
      2    FROM table_a a
      3  INTERSECT
      4  SELECT TRIM (b.col_2)
      5    FROM table_b b
      6  /

    TRIM(A.COL_1)
    ---------------
    A
    B

    2 rows selected.
    Could someone please explain why I get different results for the above mentioned methods? I hope that I don't miss any details in the documentation.

    Thanks in advance

    'If the select queries values of TANK with different lengths, then the returned value is VARCHAR2 with the length of the largest CHAR value."
    and
    'In queries using the set operators, Oracle does not make the implicit conversion between the data type groups.

    I guess that if the values are CHAR with lengths, then they will not be considered as being equal, even if it is the same value in both tables, bar the number of spaces at the end.

    I don't rely on the parameters of comparison; make it explicit - trim TANKS before being compared - or, better yet, don't use TANKS in the first place, replace them by of VARCHAR2.

  • Shared variable data type: can I choose a picture of a typedef custom, without making the table itself a typedef?

    Hi all

    I would like to pass a table to a cluster on my network. My group is typedef'ed, but I would avoid to pollute my project with an another redundant typedef.

    Is it possible to use the option "From Custom Control... ' of the shared variable with an array without saving the table as a new .ctl file?

    Oh, I didn't know you were using shared variables. I thought that you were just considered another option with TCP/IP or UDP or something like that. In this case, you will need to create a second custom control. This control would be a table with the cluster of typedef in there. Not need to make this new control itself a typedef however. Sorry, I know you were hoping for a different answer. I doubt a single file will really be "clutter" your project well

  • Modification of the data types of the custom shared variables

    My application includes a library containing a number of shared single process variables. I use type defs to create the shared variable "of the custom control." I know that shared variables do not-automatic update since the type defs, so I'm updating shared variables (data type, do a right click, properties) whenever I update the type definitions.  However, if I make a change to a type design that does not change the data type, for example to change the labels controls, these changes will be reflected in the shared variable.  The data types of variable window shared list contains entries for each previous update, which indicates he uses the previous entries.  How can I make the window of properties of shared variables 'forget' my previous defs type wandering without deleting the variable total? Withdrawal and replacement would be troublesome because the done variable references throughout my project.

    Thank you

    Wes

    The variable is not in the Distributed System Manager, or Manager of the Variable, and cancellation of the deployment has not been resolved.  However, I found Labview from closing completely and reboot clears the memory of the previously used custom data types that sees the library.  Thus, the effective workaround I found is:

    1 make a significant change to the data type of the type (per your suggestion) FED. Record.

    2 - redefine the variable screw-notice type FED.

    3. save the project. Close and restart labview.

    4 - the old def type is now disabled.

    5. return the significant change of the def type, implement trivial change and save.

    6 redefine the variable using the type correct now def. Viola!

    Thank you!

  • Causing problems of custom data type to deploy the shared target RT variable

    I seem to have some difficulty in using a shared variable published network created from a customized data type when it is deployed as an executable on a target of cRIO RT.  I'll start by describing why I think that this is the rub.  I created my RT VI in the LabVIEW (LV 2012) development environment and everything works fine.  This VI is quite simple, because these were quickly devolved into an exercise in debugging.  The RT VI begins by simply flashing the LED to a couple of times and then starts a loop simple acquisition to read some values out of the material using the analytical engine (while still flashing the LED of the user).  After reading the material, the values are grouped in a cluster and written in a shared variable published to the network defined by a custom control type def.  The custom control contains five floats double precision.  If it's important, the RT cRIO system hosts the shared variable in this case.

    So I have that deploy in the development environment, and everything works fine.  The LED flashes merrily along, telling me that the program runs correctly.  Running a VI host who reads the shared network has published variable gives the desired result.  Everything is good.

    Now, I want the cRIO system to run this simple program by itself at startup.  I build, set it as start VI, deploy it, and then restart the cRIO target.  The LED never flashing... the VI doesn't seem to work.  I'll spare you the major part of the work of debugging and access to the end.  I basically "diagram Disabled" various sections of the code up to the VI began to run correctly in an executable file.  I kept reducing the size of the disabled code until something has been disabled: the writing in the shared variable for the custom data type.

    So, I guess my question is this: are custom data types defined by type def would be personalized orders authorized executables to RT?  I read through the cRIO Developers Guide, my book of development in real time course of NOR and the white paper using shared Variables and I see nothing that forbids it.  I know that there are things not allowed in the executable files that are allowed in the development environment (property nodes façade, dialogue live, operating system specific calls, etc.), but no mention of the shared variable type custom data.  Any ideas as to why my VI is running in the development environment, but does not update unless I have delete the entry on the published network variable shared?

    Thank you in advance for your help!

    You must disconnect the data types of variables and then recompile. You can find it useful to keep on disk, a copy of the original lvlib.

    Don't know if this is a bug or not. It was suggested by someone in the forum that putting the ctl files in the right position (the disk? in the draft?) would allow the rtexe start; I did a quick check and it didn't work then I dropped the tests more far.

  • How can I dynamically select the shared Variable API programming data type?

    I am trying to create a configuration of open connections of variable shared using the programming API. It seems to me that the cleanest way to do would be to put one "open and check" routine in a loop, then call it for each variable in the library.

    The question that I am running is that I have different types of data in my library (to help a server Modbus i/o and data types 'boolean' and 'single' in my library.) How can I dynamically select the data type of the shared variable API?

    See the attached snipit.

    Thank you

    What I ended up doing was doing a Subvi to open, read, write, and close each data type, I use the packaged in 4 polymorphic SubVIs (polymorphic Open, read, etc...)

    Now all I have to do I drop in the polymorphic Subvi and it switches automatically to the appropriate data type

    I solved it by using the correct data type in .NET, for example an sbyte to CVIInt8.

  • "Not a valid error code" when you create a shared variable of data type custom

    I am trying to create a shared variable with a data type of a 2d double table. I created a custom control that contains a table with a numeric type for this 2d. Manager of distributed system v12 I select 'add a variable', then select 'of the custom control. Once select my control I get the following error: "invalid data type. You want to choose a different data type. Any advice as to why it doesn't work? Thank you.

    This seems to be recorded in the CAR #405941.  All this is a bit strange, but I'll try better possible workaround solutions I can.  I tested a large number of these myself, and here is what I found.

    1. make sure that the custom control you did was created in 2012 of LabVIEW or you save it in an earlier version.  If you save on an earlier version, you may also open the .ctl in LabVIEW 2012 and resave it (I needed to do).  I tried to create my own control in 2012, as well as save the control to a previous version, the two worked, but I don't end up with the same result (I don't understand this, but I wanted to mention it so that you know).

    2. it seems that you are able to make the variable shared by program by modifying the example of the community to adapt to your needs.  If you do not need to create many variables it may be the best option if it works for you.

    I would also try adding the variable of the LabVIEW project, you are working on that.  It wasn't a direct troubleshooting step but there are several ways of doing things in LabVIEW and, sometimes, one of them is working while the other does not.

    Edit: Example of community is here https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-16863

  • A question about the conservation of fields (hour, min, sec) time DATE type in the table on the changes of NLS_DATE_FORMAT

    Hello

    Oracle version: 12.1.0.1.0 - 64 bit

                      OS:   Fedora Core 17 X86_64

    My question is about the conservation of fields (hour, minute, second) time DATE type in the array on NLS_DATE_FORMAT changes.

    Take the following test case:

    SQL> create table tmptab(dateval date);

    Table created.

    SQL> alter session set nls_date_format = 'yyyy-mm-dd hh24:mi:ss';

    Session altered.

    SQL> insert into tmptab(dateval) values('2014-01-01 00:00:00');

    1 row created.

    SQL> insert into tmptab(dateval) values('2014-01-01 10:00:00');

    1 row created.

    SQL> commit;

    Commit complete.

    SQL> select * from tmptab;

    DATEVAL
    -------------------
    2014-01-01 00:00:00
    2014-01-01 10:00:00

    SQL> alter session set nls_date_format = 'yyyy';

    Session altered.

    SQL> select * from tmptab where dateval > '2014';

    no rows selected

    SQL>

    I don't understand why it returns nothing. The second test case above insert statement inserted a line with 10 as the value for the time of the DATE field column dateval.

    Accordingly, while comparing this with the literal '2014' (which based on the new value of NLS_DATE_FORMAT = "yyyy" is implicitly converted to DATE), shouldn't the above query returns the line 2014-01-01 10:00 ?

    I mean, I changed the NLS_DATE_FORMAT but data from time in the table fields are preserved and that's why they should normally be taken into account in the comparison of date.

    What I'm trying to say is that for me (Please correct me if I'm wrong), no matter what NLS_DATE_FORMAT configuration is the following test

    SQL> select * from tmptab where dateval > '2014';

    is the same thing that

    SQL> select * from tmptab where dateval > to_date('2014-01-01 00:00:00', 'yyyy-mm-dd hh24:mi:ss');

    And because the line 2014-01-01 10: 00:00 in the tmptab table. The following test

    2014-01-01 10:00:00 > to_date('2014-01-01 00:00:00', 'yyyy-mm-dd hh24:mi:ss')

    evolves normally true (beucase of TIME = 10 on the left side of the test) and therefore this line must be returned which is not the case in the test above.

    You kindly could you tell me what I misunderstood?

    Thanks in advance,

    This is the price for the use of implicit conversions. Implicit DATE conversion rules are not as direct as it can be assumed. In your case, all you provide is year as date format. In this case date implicit conversion rules assumes that month in the current month, day 1 and time as 00:00:00.

    SQL > alter session set nls_date_format = "yyyy";

    Modified session.

    SQL > select to_char (to_date ('2014 "), ' mm/dd/yyyy hh24:mi:ss') twice;

    TO_CHAR (TO_DATE('20)
    -------------------
    01/08/2014-00:00:00

    SQL >

    So, when you start:

    Select * from tmptab where dateval > '2014 '.

    Oracle implicitly converts date using "YYYY", which translates as August 1, 2014 '2014'. That's why your quesry returns no rows.

    -: listOfUserPermmission-> permissions of the user table.

    My query looks like this:

    1 Master View:
    SELECT MetVMenu.CHILD_ID,
           MetVMenu.CHILD_IME_MODULA,
           MetVMenu.PARENT_ID,
           MetVMenu.PARENT_IME_MODULA,
           MetVMenu.ZST,
           MetVMenu.NIVO,
           MetVMenu.CHILD_NAZIV_V_MENIJU,
           MetVMenu.CHILD_TIP_MODULA,
           MetVMenu.CHILD_OPIS_MODULA
    FROM MET_V_MENU MetVMenu
    WHERE MetVMenu.PARENT_IME_MODULA like :menuRoot
    and MetVMenu.CHILD_IME_MODULA in (SELECT * FROM TABLE(CAST(:listOfUserPermission AS STRARRAY)))
    CHILD_IME_MODULA and PARENT_IME_MODULA are also names of permissions.

    2. see link that connects the master. CHILD_ID and detail PARENT_ID

    3 detail view, then linking to itself... to get the tree menu.
    SELECT MetVMenu.CHILD_ID,
           MetVMenu.CHILD_IME_MODULA,
           MetVMenu.PARENT_ID,
           MetVMenu.PARENT_IME_MODULA,
           MetVMenu.ZST,
           MetVMenu.NIVO,
           MetVMenu.CHILD_NAZIV_V_MENIJU,
           MetVMenu.CHILD_TIP_MODULA,
           MetVMenu.CHILD_OPIS_MODULA
    FROM MET_V_MENU MetVMenu
    WHERE :menuRoot like 'a'
    and
    MetVMenu.CHILD_IME_MODULA in (SELECT * FROM TABLE(CAST(:listOfUserPermission AS STRARRAY)))
    4 ViewLink, which connects CHILD_ID and PARENT_ID from this point of view 'detail '.

    Two views executeQuery methods are overridden to define Bind variables before execution.
    I get an arrayList of strings (permissions) of session and then convert it to a table.

    ArrayList permmissionsArray = (ArrayList)MyUserSession.getSessionValue("permissions");
         Array permissions = new Array(permissionsArray.toArray());
            HashMap context = new HashMap();
            context.put(DomainContext.ELEMENT_SQL_NAME, "STRARRAY");
            context.put(DomainContext.ELEMENT_TYPE, String.class);

            if(permissions != null){
                permissions.setContext(null, null, context);
                setlistOfUserPermission(permissions);
            }
         //Here I set menuRoot variable.

    I also noticed that there are problems with how define bind variables (issues).
    So when I did use the variable menuRoot in Details view I had the
    ' incompatible data types: expected - got TANK.
    error in the module of the application.

    prepareRowSetForQuery() has solved the problem for me. The binding variable is null and that was the reason for the error incompatible data type.
    Regarding the error of the tree-> it was a mistake in the definition of the cardinality.
