VCAP5-DCA exam question

Hello

I had went to review VDCA510 yesterday in India. In the review I faced some technical problems so I told the Director of the test center. He called support VSS of PearsonVUE, who had access to remote to my LAB and asked to the Test Center administrator to stop my review and I couldn't finish the review.

Now I'm curies that I not received any mail from PearsonVUE or VMware confirming the matter with the LAB. What I have to contact VMware Support to check the status or they take some time to analyze the issue?

Any guidance is appreciated!

Thank you

Gregg thanks!

I had made contact with PersonVUE today and gave the case number that was created during the review. After a few explanations they postponed the review

Waiting for the day of the exam again

You are able to read each question carefully to review before you start your first task? I don't know whether to click through 26 screens to see each question or figure it out in the begin block? Thank you

    Ed

Yes, you can click around the review, as you can do on most VMware exams.

There is a school of thought that clicking through all the questions and take notes you if an item is a 'create' or 'admin', their organization and then clicking back to the beginning will save time to review.

There are a few problems with this:

-This excersise will take you 10-20 min.  Since you have an average of 8 minutes per question, you give ~ two questions when you try this method.

-try to determine how long will take an item or if the item is a 'creation' or 'admin' question before trying the question in fact is not always possible.  Many questions have troubleshooting components that aren't obvious until you try them.  Some read as a matter of "admin" but actually need to create components on the fly.  Some of the lists "create xxx" but that's actually a later configuration element and the question really is a "question of the admin".

-l' review is designed to take one at a time, in order.  Items that can cause disruptions tend to go towards the end of the examination, the elements that improve the performance of review go near the front.  The items that can interfere with other elements are carefully.  A passage which does no favor.

Note that these points are all exams live-lab, not only VCAP5-DCA, and some points are more important in some reviews.

  • VCAP5-DCA Format Question

Someone at - it can give me an example of the format question for this review. I'm asking you to violate the NDA, I'm looking for more for the type of stroke that matters. For example

Q1 - go and set up a new cluster for the following customer requirements - HA HA, vMotion, DRS and FT

    or

Q2 - needs to have their virtual servers fully load balanced and protected against defects of one host, while having vm1, vm3 and vm2 not experience any downtime due to a fault in the unique host.

  • took vcap5-dca exam today and had laboratory performance problems

Most of the time, the review ran ok. I was very impressed by the performance of the lab environment. I can say that I had to skip two questions I knew because the keyboard and mouse of entry would not work. After spending 5 minutes trying to get my keyboard and mouse works on one of the questions, I had to jump even if I knew the answer. It is unfortunate that, for a review of 400 dollar, you have performance problems that limit your ability to perform the review. Overall, I think I did pretty well. I was able to get about 19 questions answered to jump through the other 7 due to the performance and time. I acknowledge that the pace I started to was a bit slow, but laboratory performance degrade my ability to perform my best on this review. I would recommend to anyone who takes this review to make sure that you use a good test center. I drove 60 miles to my test center to make sure that I went to a good and always fell on issues. I could only imagine what it would have been like if I went to one of these centers of samples of groceries with a metropolitan WAN connection for internet :-) Now wait to see if I've spent 15 days.

Has anyone else had this kind of questions? If so, where did you register a complaint?

    Hello

The delay is a common thing for everyone outside the USA. She varies the amount of delay but it has been around since the VCAP-DCA 4. In regard to complaints they should normally be done the day of the test to the exam administrator otherwise pearson cannot do much.

    Good luck for the result!

  • Some VCAP-DCA exam questions

I take this test on Friday and have a few more questions I couldn't find answers for it:

Several takers review mentioned that there is only the vma and ESX servers. What about PowerCLI? Is there any explicit questions or tasks MUST be completed with PowerCLI? If it is not installed, it is no use learning, isn't it? (except the actual skills very useful)
Are there tasks MUST be accomplished using VMA/CLI/vSphere client/PowerCLI or this is my choice, what tool I take to accomplish the task?
One more: I've read that vscsiStats is not installed on the ESX Server. Do we need to install it during the exam or if all the tools are pre-installed?
I guess that these questions are not subject of the disclosure to sign...
Thanks to adnavce for your help!

5- DCA VCAP, you're right that AutoDeploy is included under the headings of the blueprint, of Update Manager PowerCLI is also mentioned.

But for VCAP,4- DCA, I would describe the required level of knowledge as pretty basic PowerCLI.

  • VCAP5-DCA terriable experience

I was scheduled for the VCAP5-DCA exam on October 4, 2012.

When I arrived at the Center Test I registered and the sign says I was planned for VCAP5-DCA.  The test proctor me sitting at the computer and connected me and I responded to the survey.  I finished the survery and click next to begin the examination.  After that, a screen came and told me that the issues and the environment were based on vSphere 4.  I knew something was wrong so I called during the test proctor and she called Pearson view and the person on the phone told me to continue to see what the environment was like.  I therefore continued and determined that the environment was vSphere 5.  At that point, I thought everything was ok, but I've always had a hunch that the questions were questions VCAP4-DCA.  If the person on the phone and test proctor told me to continue with the review, but I continued with the questions, I knew that the questions were based on vSphere 4 (VCAP4-DCA).  If I had version vcap5-DCA asking then I have only 26 questions, but my review had 34 questions, so I knew that I don't have the correct versions.  A question was even asked to configure something on the vMA that is no longer possible in vMA vSphere 5.  There was a lot of questions which did not correspond to the top with the lab environment.  There are questions which asked me to do something for a virtual machine, but the VM was not there.  There was so much other stuff like that.  I called during the test proctor again and told him, but she said I had to continue and drop and incident at last report.  I filed an incident report and yesterday I was told by Pearson view that there is nothing wrong with the examination or questions.
I was originally scheduled for the consideration of the VCAP4-DCA and then it changed to VCAP5-DCA review.  After the examination ended I called Pearson view of incident report, they told me that there was a confusion because I had initially signed for VCAP4-DCA and they think the test center was never given this information, but ultimately PearsonVue says he's investigating and nothing was wrong with the exam.  I don't see how this is possible when the start screen says it draws on vSphere 4.
I think that my $400 has been wasted because I was given the wrong exam and now Pearson view won't help me.

I sent an email to [email protected] and I await the response y.

Is there anything else I can do?

    Crawformdm,

You can me pop an email directly to stipend [at] vmware.com? I'm not the person directly to deal with this (and given that this is a weekend) but I would like to send directly to our certification team and get them to help you with this. When you email me, include all the details you can think beyond what you wrote above.

  • VCAP5-DCA, vSphereclient, CLI, type of question

    Hello

I am preparing for my VCAP-DCA exam and want to delete as soon as POSSIBLE. I have questions... appreciate your entries...

    (1) to review, we need to work with vsphere client Windows

    client or web client?

    (2) the tasks of the CLI, can they ask all Taks filled by CLI

only? I mean apart from the section 8-Scripting/Automation can they ask

None of the other tasks applies only by CLI or we can do

with a graphical interface as well...?

    (3) what are the headings of the VCAP-DCA plan other than 8-

Scripts/Automation, which can be done by CLI (cannot be done through GUI)

If I could master it in CLI

    (4) do we have Internet to download tools such as vmware site

    utility survvey or CPU identification?

    (5) no direction on this type of questions they can ask? I saw little in the nets... but if nothing is no longer available...

  • Review strategy question - VCAP5-DCA

I read many comments from engineers who have passed the 5-vcap-dca exam. Can I group the items into two categories: configuration and administration? Some engineers said, they went through all the tasks configuration first and I went back and went through the administration/troubleshooting section. Should I just go through it in order? Any recommendations would be appreciated. I know that time management is critical for this review.

    Ed

Go through review tacking questions you can, make a note of any questions that you have to look in the documentation.

Note that most of the questions have several parts you must complete all parts that you can and write down what you can not.

Then go back and work on those that you need to search in the documentation provided.

The review aims to be attempted in the order and is not intended to be divided into different categories (troubleshooting/create/admin). Questions about the review perhaps all three of these "categories"... and you will not be able to identify all the troubleshooting questions until you try them.

Read all the questions, take notes and categorizing will take 10-20 minutes.  Keep in mind with the number of questions and the time limit you have about 8 min per question.  If your organization takes the place of finish ~ two questions.  What is the difference between pass and fail to many candidates.

In addition, more than one person who tried this strategy clicked 'Finished' on the last item, ending their review after less than 15 minutes and no question was answered.

    Edit: what he said ^ ^ ^

  • VCAP5-DCA my thoughts

    Dear friends,

Review VCAP5-DCA today to Reading, to the United Kingdom and thought, I'll share my experience.

Prepared for almost 4 weeks and it was a good experience all together. Participated in 23 questions and ran out of time. Used many materials for preparation, but I think that most of those import have been TrainSignal course of Jason Nash and of this forum.  There were times where I just couldn't study more (my brain was abt to explode) and I use just to listen to Jason and walk around or go to bed with a computer laptop near home. You can't go wrong with an investment of $49 / month. This is myth 14 certification (if I pass it) and I'll start DCD after two or three days as well as the EMCTA.

    1. Don't try to go through all the question in the beginning itself. If you take 30 seconds to read a question in order to understand and make a conscious decision that this is easy or not,

You will have average waster 13 minutes or more you do not!

    1. Try at least 8 issues/hour time and make sure that you push yourself to access (skip the question if you have to fight when you read)
    2. Allow at least 10 minutes to see the PDF (unless you're a Robert of Palo Alto - that know everything). Combine your pdf if possible research to the 2nd time and use options - ask your pad to write it down--especially the cmd for two notebooks and on one, note the IP and password so that a simple pattern - takes about 2 minutes
    3. Take your fluid intake to a minimum, I lost 4 min for a break from the bathroom (Yes, I counted)
    4. These aren't questions that kill you, but the time take it easy
    5. Don't forget, it's the best chance to show the world and your business that you are not a clone of testking. Participating in the review itself shows that you have it in you J
    6. Ensure that go you through the forum and get as much detail as you can... it isn't hard, as long as you are committed and spend at least 3-4 weeks for the study
    7. Try it in the lab again and again... even things simple will come and haunt you while you are in that Chair, do not take anything for granted...

    Good luck!

Exactly after 15 days, received the email from VMware on the outcome of the test. The subject line did not mention the results and had to watch PDF attached.

Yes! The result is positive... I am a VCAP5-DCA now MANAGED. Thank you all... Party of the time :-)

  • VCAP5-DCA

Has taken my exam today for the VCAP5-DCA. Wow that was slow.

I hope I passed. I'm sure it'll be close that I wasn't able to get to the last issue of torque, but if it does not lag as bad as he did I would have finished an hour earlier.

Now I am waiting for the results... A way to speed this up?

Discovered today that I passed! VCAP5-DCA

  • VCAP5-DCA - this laboratory review is slooooooowwwww!

Sam VCAP5-DCA review today. It was really frustrating. RDP screen redraws sometimes took 30 seconds. It wasn't something that I didn't know how to do, however I started to skip questions that required a lot of clicking because of GUI performance.

At some point, I also had a problem PEBCAK/self-inflicted, that made me lose my connection to some of the basic infrastructure - I know, I'm a fool. By train to rush through these performance issues in environmental laboratory cracked my temper and compulsive double control before you click Ok.

Anyway, the TA ended up calling VMware on this subject, but at the time wherever she had someone on the line, I had resolved my own mess, that she told them to do not take into account. However, a bunch of configuration that I had done had been cancelled. Without getting too specific, I had configured components absolutely would not have been affected with my mistake/uninstallation procedure, and a bunch of it was missing. This whole ordeal cost me about an hour.

Anyway, I ended up answering 20.5 to 26, and I felt as if I really knew the documentation. I guess the moral of this story is don't break your lab and if you do, don't tell VMware to this topic.

This expectation is going to be brutal...

I had very similar problems as well, best you can do is email [email protected] and describe in DETAIL how the environment awkward review have prevented you from answering all the things you knew. Provide your and site Details when you send them.

  • VCAP5-DCA tests on vSphere 5 or 5.1?

    Hi people,

As the title suggests, can quick question, someone tell me if the VCAP5-DCA tests you 5 or 5.1? I just had a look at the review plan and he got vsphere 5 everywhere, but I need to be supported by these people here. I realize that experience of the review is probably as much as it may and 5.1 has several improvements, I don't want surprises. I'm about to rebuild my lab and need to do things. Thank you.

    5.0

We have tried to make issues as version neutral as possible to ensure that the review could last as versions have been introduced (at least until the first digit changes or there is a quite significant change).
