  Everything was pretty smooth up until I have to replace the the vcenter Server SSL certificate.  Option 2 vcenter update ssl.  See the attached photo.

  After the error, my vcenter service will not start.

  I tried to reset the password of database using vpxd.exe - p, but vcenter still does not start.

  I also checked that the correct service ID is matched between vpxd.cfg and LS_ServiceID.prop.

  Stuck at this point.  I have since went instant return, but try to see if anyone has any suggestions?

  Could this be type a bad password?

• New vCenter Server install fails - SSO

  I use a new system nested for a lab at home.  I'm under Workstation 9 with the latest version of vCenter.  I have the ms SQL all set up and verified.  The clocks are set to the same time a few seconds apart.  However, during installation when I get to vCenter single sign on Information, he returned with the error:

  Incorrect entry - a command line argument is wrong, a file is not found or the spec file does not contain the required information or the clocks on the two systems are not synchronized. Check vm_ssoreg.log in the temporary folder of the system for more details.

• vCSA vcenter service cannot start

  I use the trial version of the device of the VirtualCenter server in our lab are fine POC development.

  You can remove hosts to a vcenter which is part of a cluster.

  I had exactly this scenario last week.

  Everything I did was right click hosts each, once disconnected you can right click again and select Delete.

  This will not affect the virtual machines on the hosts and can be done while online, make sure that there is no current vMotions when you do this.

  Reload the VirtualCenter with the new OS and vCenter. Click Add a host and do the normal procedure.

  In fact it is really unnecessary to disconnect the old vcenter for import into new, because when you add the host it will tell you it is managed by a different vCenter, but you can import it again. I just did it to make sure (in my head :-))

  Tip is to make a copy of the license key from vcenter for you save the trouble to go online and get back again

  I have built a vCenter 5.1.0a server and you need to apply certificates to it.   My research led me to the blog of Derek Seamans and its not for the installation of certificates.  I plan on rebuilding my Server 5.1.0a vCenter using vCenter 5.1.0b to take advantage of a key store.  My question is in the certificate template.  The site says "vSphere 5.0 and earlier versions had a requirement for additional certificate (non-repudiation) which is not necessary in vSphere 5.1.»  This is not in 5.1 but I want to set some 4.1U2 to the vCenter hosts so I can pass them to ESXi 5.1.   Anyone know if this will be a problem if I don't check the repudiation on my model of Web server?
