vCLI and domain credentials

This forum is extremely buried so I'm not sure how active it is, but I went through the vCLI reference guide trying to find a way to run vicfg - backup.pl with domain credentials.  From my understanding, I can use a session file or a file of config to simply the process of connection.  I found the config file but not the session file, but I am only able to use accounts the on the esx server.  I guess I have to first connect to the vCenter server, and then from there, connect to an ESX Server, but I'm not sure.  Everything that works it's cool with me.

Any help would be appreciated.

No session file does not store the credentials.  It contains only the session cookie and the session is timeout after a certain time.

  • PowerShell Plugin and HTTPS domain credentials

    Someone been able to make this work?

    I have configured WinRM on my powershell host and it seems to work fine.  I can connect via negotiate and kerberos very well via HTTPS w / domain credentials.  However, I can't see the powershell plugin to authenticate with a domain service account, it will only connect w / basic authentication enabled by using the local credentials to the host of powershell.

    I tried the following syntax for the username:

    User domain\username

    username@domain

    I happened to notice that I can't connect to the host PowerShell forcing basic authentication using the enter-pssession cmdlet either which brings me to the conclusion that basic authentication cannot make the domain credentials.

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

    > basic authentication cannot field identification information.

    Yes. The first version of the plugin supports basic authentication only and not with the credentials of domain.

    The good news is that in about 2 weeks, an update of the plugin version would be released that would provide support for kerberos.

    Thank you.

  • Get on my wireless network - I'm in the prompt for the user name, password, and domain

    I tried to connect to my home wireless network. with most wireless networks, I will ask you for a password and I can enter and connect, but my home network wonder with additional credentials, including username, password and domain. My home network does not work with all other computers that are used in my house. What can I do to connect?

    Hello

    1. try relative to wireless networking and make sure that you set the level of security to WPA2-Personal, as it is recommended. Follow the steps listed in the link below and check if that helps:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Setting-up-a-wireless-network

    2 disable the software firewall and windows AntiVirus installed on your computer and then try to connect to the wireless network. Make sure that you turn on once connected to the network.

    3. you can also try the steps listed in the link below:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Troubleshoot-network-connection-problems (for Windows 7)

    4. run the built-in network troubleshooting utility, follow the steps listed in the below link for the same thing: using the utility in Windows 7 Network Troubleshooter:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Using-the-Network-troubleshooter-in-Windows-7

  • Cannot connect to VCENTER using domain credentials, authorize the exception

    Hi guys,.

    I am running version 5.1 vcenter and my esxi servers are also in 5.1.
    Now, obviously the vcenter server is joined to the domain.

    As we modernize the entire infrastructure, the old DC must be dismantled and from where it is currently shutdown. All roles FSMO etc. have been transferred to the new domain controller and the new domain controller is acting as DNS/DHCP server for the network.

    We have 50 PCs running in the network with server etc and so far no sign of any glitches everywhere else

    Now, the question I have is as soon as I stop the old DC, I can no longer access the VCENTER server by using domain credentials. When I turn it on I can connect properly.
    The error I get when I can not connect-

    1. a general error has occurred: Exception allow or
    2. access to the VCENTER server refused.
    3 taking too long to respond.

    I followed the steps here http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US & cmd = displayKC & externalId = 1015639 i.e. unjoined vcenter server domain and joined to the domain while having the former DC stop well lit but absolutely no chance.

    I can still connect to local server VCENTER login admin and password but the problem is that my VEEAM backup has failed as well. It is said "task impossible error: cannot complete the connection due to a wrong username or password." which is the reason that I discovered this problem was associated with login via client Vsphere VCENTER.

    Kindly help

    Maybe it's: http://adminotes.blogspot.be/2012/12/vsphere-general-system-error-occurred.html

    Can help you along... Seems they had the same problem on an old DC...

    Although maybe you tried all these things already.

  • Locking XP! error "the system could not log. Make sure your username and domain are correct, then type your password again.

    Original title: Locking XP!

    I tried to read all the relevant messages and walked the Earth for this solution, if someone could help me I would be grateful.

    A dear friend died and I got his PC - a fast XP with SP3 which (elderly) she only used for web & email. His account has been "Judi".

    I noticed a while back that, on the logon screen, that there is another user called 'Fiona' (she told me an old co-worker who probably stayed with her).

    Now a friend in need of a very old HP PC Lions not having completely fortunately I managed to copy his files before he was insane - I offered this newer PC it after that I have "set up" for him.

    I put a new account in place on this new PC "Ken" has been added. Then, after the deletion of accounts Judi & Fiona, I cleaned the machine with MalwareBytes, CCleaner & defrag.  All is well now with only Ken appearing on the screen logon (with an image of the appropriate icon), that I used several times in the implementation of his e-mail account and move its acrossetc files. His password is empty.

    Being the only user now Ken, I thought that it strange would its user (only) one click each time to the 'Log in', so I searched and found a box that said something to the effect «... do not show a picture of connection...» » .  That started my problem!  Removing his login "icon" brings ONLY the following - FIONA!

    When connecting a Logon Message now says "the system could not log. Make sure your username and domain are correct, then type your password again.  Letters in passwords must be typed using the proper case" the choice for this error message is 'OK', which takes you to a login screen 'Type Win98' older Classic looking (no icon user) who was behind this logon Message, with (name) Fiona appears on the login screen (former) (full name and empty below the password) , with the choice to enter the password or a stop!

    Of course the password cannot be guessed (Yes - tried blank, admin, etc.) so the only choice is to stop.

    VA F8 at startup for 'Safe mode' goes to screen black WITH Fiona login screen as usual safe mode above and booting with the CD using NTPASSWD shows the usual 1) Administrator 2) 3) invited Ken and 4) Support Microsoft - NO FIONA is shown - and I put all these passwords to 'empty '. Of course repair and recovery repair 'R' does nothing on the removal of Fiona

    This translates the original message & Fiona connection again.  How can I return to screen "image icon" connection without losing files and mail Ken Ken. Where Fiona could hide when it is not a USER of the NET?

    Yet once again, I'd appreciate any help. Brian.

    You should be able to just select (click on) "Fiona", press the delete key, and then type any desired account name.  It doesn't work?

    If you cannot type on "Fiona" in the logon window, you can use the following procedure to modify the Windows registry... or you can take the computer to an independent repairer and ask them to fix it for you.  Don't go to a chain of stores, as a "geek squad" or BigBoxStoreUSA type of place.

    Go here--> https://www.raymond.cc/blog/how-to-edit-windows-registry-key-values-without-booting-in-windows/

    Choose method 1 or method 2.  I'm familiar with Hiren (method 2), but not with the program described in method 1 (even though it seems simple).  Any ISO file you choose, I suggest to download and use ImgBurn (free) to create your CD bootable from the downloaded ISO file.

    The registry key to change is in the same place as "userinit" (which is the example used in the article), so to follow 1-5 step method or method 2 for step 7.

    You will be at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

    In the right pane of the registry editor, you will see a large list of items.  Scroll down the page until you see LogonType and double-click it.

    In the "Value data" box, type 1, and click OK (1 is the same either hexadecimal or decimal).

    Close the registry editor, take the CD from the drive and reboot.  You should see the Welcome screen when Windows restarts.

  • Windows Virtual PC integrated with components lock me out of my WinXP - error of OEM comments - "the system could not log. Make sure that your user name and domain are correct... »

    With my new desktop Windows 7 hardware configuration, I decided (before you consider VMware Player) to retry Windows Virtual PC; but instead of using Windows XP Mode (which is useless because the disk is inaccessible), I decided to use my own Windows XP Pro OEM. [I use it for games that won't play on Win7.  Security issues are also irrelevant, because for these games, I'm not likely to use the Web.  Of course, I always Windows Security Essentials in my OEM customers.]

    The problem here is, whenever I have to Activate my integration, features VPC opens as if the Windows XP Mode have been installed (it is not); and when the screen is turned on, it asks my user name and password.  I tried to use the name and the password that I entered when installing my XP OEM; but I get this message:

    "The system could not log.  Make sure that your user name and domain are correct.  Type your password again.  Letters in passwords must be entered using the proper case. »

    How is it that I can't access my Windows XP OEM guest when the integration features are enabled?  Only when they are disabled can I activate my OS; invited but it's counterproductive, because I won't be able to move items from my host in my comments.  Once more, if I should decide to use VPC as my host VM for Linux Ubuntu/Kubuntu, what chance is there that the activation of the integration features will lock out me my Linux guest?

    Another thing: in the Start Menu under Windows Virtual PC folder I have shortcuts for ' Windows Virtual PC ' or 'Virtual Machines' (according to the Win7 version I use, 32-bit or 64-bit); but I also have "Windows XP Mode", I have not installed.  How is that possible?  I checked the shortcut, and point it to rundll32.exe.  Should I just get rid of the shortcut, or I will incur damage to my VPC if I do?

  • Change of host and domain name ownership virtual vCenter Server... issues to know?

    Looking to change the name and domain membership of our vCenter server v4.0 virtual host\system to harmonize them with the rest of our servers and make it consistent with our security policy.  Are there things I should be aware to allow migration of fluids before, during or after the change of name and the field?  The vCenter server is a unique system that hosts all the necessary services and applications for vCenter, so there is not a second box that he speaks for something out of control two ESX servers for the cluster on which it resides.

    Yes... Especially in vSphere where there is no license server is all the function key.  I don't foresee any problems.  But if you use a license server may want to change your license IP source if it is not already.

    You can also simply restart the vpx on your ESX host agents if you see weird problems

  • The fields 'Name' and 'Domain' to 'DNS and routing configuration/host Identification' are always in gray

    In VI3, I used to change the settings of the host DNS (host and domain name) to the tab 'DNS and routing' - & gt; "Identification of home." Even more, if the DNS and DHCP are configured correctly in the environment, there is no need to set these values manually - they were discovered automatically. The story is defferent in vSphere 4. I still have the set of fields 'Name' by 'localhost' and 'Domain' field is empty. And I can't change them - they are grey.

    Seems that the host is still able to discover its hostname automatically. I see the proper name in the (left pane of vSphere Client) console tree. But these values are not met the 'DNS and routing' tab and I can't put them manually.

    This is normal and how do I use these fields now?

    Yes, you're right. It's a little strange, but it works this way in vSphere now.

  • DPSBridge module for Drupal and domain access Module

    Hello

    We want to use a single instance of Drupal and Module of access area for several areas. Each field is bound to a DPS 2015 project.

    We couldn't get DPSBridge Module of DCPL to work with several areas.

    Everyone used like this? What do you propose as an alternative?

    Wladimir

    > We couldn't get DPSBridge Module of DCPL to work with several areas.

    Hi Vladimir,.

    Not sure if you still need it, but it shouldn't be very hard. You just need to check the code of the DPSBridge node from which site you save and have several ifelses for values of credentials, which belong to different DPS accounts:

    -check area to which the node is published;

    -set the credentials to different accounts based on the domain using ifelses inside includes/dpsbridge.next.util.inc:

    generate a table with values of global references

    $client_id = variable_get (DPSNextConfig::VARIABLE_CLIENT_ID, DPSNextConfig::CLIENT_ID);

    $client_secret = variable_get (DPSNextConfig::VARIABLE_CLIENT_SECRET, DPSNextConfig::CLIENT_SECRET);

    $device_id = isset ($variables ['device_token'])? ['device_token'] $variables: self::getDeviceId();

    $device_token = isset ($variables ['device_token'])? ['device_token'] $variables: self::getDeviceToken();

    $access_token = isset ($variables ['access_token'])? ['access_token'] $variables: self::getAccessToken();

    Kind regards
