  VCPC610 refers to vCAC 6.1, but it's not recent exams VCP-Cloud.

  Welcome to the community - no. it is useless to be a VCP5-VTC - according to http://mylearn.vmware.com/mgrReg/plan.cfm?plan=32558&ui=www_cert if you are already a VCP5 VTC that you don't need to take a class and can sit for the exam and if you pass, you will be sent your cert VCP-Cloud - if you're not a VCP-DCV5 that you need to sit for one of the required classes and exam VCP-Cloud to become a VCP.

  Based on the information available on the VMware Web site Certification VMware: Cloud, I have below complete the course before taking review for "path 1: If you are just getting started using vCloud Director [5.5]."

  Course name: vCloud Director: install, configure, manage [5.5]

  When I checked the details of the itinerary above VMware vCloud Director: install, configure, manage [5.5], I found following preconditions:

  -VMware vSphere: install, configure, manage [version 5.0]

  -VMware vCloud Director: Essentials/fundamentals [V5.1]

  -Solid knowledge of TCP/IP networking

  This means I have all the steps before exam taken below?

  Step 1: End of course "VMware vSphere: install, configure, manage [version 5.0]" and "VMware vCloud Director: Essentials/fundamentals [V5.1]."

  Step 2: End of course "vCloud Director: install, configure, manage [5.5]."

  Step 3: Test the "VMware Certified Professional - (VCP-cloud)"

  Please pass the vSphere CIM course content, see for yourself that you're going to be able to get all these things in your self-study, if the answer is YES.

  And as long as you have good exposure to the vCenter/ESXi hosts in your lab at home or at work. I think you should be ok to go to vCloud Director classes directly.

  also use the hand on labs by vmware to the hol.vmware.com. for additional practice as VSAN, vDS etc... many laboratories are available.

  I see that you reach the VCP-Cloud you will automatically get VCP - CMA

  Are there really two secure Channel for cloud or the CMA is intended to replace the old cloud?

  Looking at the specs it looks like when the cloud one is more general knowledge and the CMA is inspired by vRealize Automation

  If I click on the name of each review, the CMA gives me details of the examination and cloud goes back to 5.5 edition (VCPC550) and loops through itself if I click on one more.

  As a technician starting with vCloud suite I find it very confusing to have two certifications in the new roadmap. There are even two VCAS, but they stand out a little more.

  If you look on the Version 6 Certification certification VMware roadmap you will see VCP6-CMA (VCP6-Cloud).  VCP6-Cloud name is obsolete, replaced by VCP6-CMA.  Paths and exams are the same, the name has changed.

  As the VCAP-CIA and CID VCAP certification exams have been removed and are no longer available, the VCAP certifications are no longer required for this specific certification.

  YYes is correct and this is a temporary situation through the defenses of October and on VCDX5 only. After October during the liberation of VCDX6 and for 2016 based solely on defenses 6 version will be available and this waiver will no longer exist and VCIX will still be necessary. It's only for a limited time, it is not permanent.

• Awarded PCC-Cloud but not considered as valid a prereq for VCP5-VTC

  I got my VCP-Cloud awarded certificate recently and also the exam VCP5-VTC.

  Info from pre - req on the site, I was under the assumption that being a cloud secure Channel enabled me to the VTC exam and when I would be awarded this certification too.

  Unfortunately, I seem to be in limbo by which I passed the exam and got the second VCP. I sent an email to the VMWare Certification, but so far I have heard nothing.

  Did someone went the VCP-Cloud-> VCP5-VTC road? Have you had any problems?

  You should get a VCP5-VTC email asking you to confirm your address of delivery etc., just as you did for VCP-Cloud.

  You are right that you should be awarded certification as you already hold a PCV-Cloud.

  I'm sure the Certification Team will get back to you - there is nothing more to do.

  You should take a look at VCP-Cloud - it's to vCloud Director what's VCP - DV to vSphere.

  Holder VCP5-DV, there is no requirement for formal training.

• New certifications VMWare VCP

  Hello.
  I need your help to understand how to manage with the new VMWare certifications.
  I saw all the certifications are now named VCP5-XX, the 'simple' VCP5 disappeared almost everywhere at VMWare.
  Since I'm VCP4 and VCP5 certified, I would like to know how to handle this.
  The VCP5 have no meaning more at VMWare and I have to take other exams to update to VCP5-XX?
  Will be the VCP5 updated automatically with one of the names of this new?
  If so, why in myTranscript and logos I can still see the simple VCP5 of 'old '?
  Can anyone of you please help me with a clear explanation of what's going on?

  For the traditional PVC based on vSphere the suffix - DV is just a change of name/rebranding exercise. The secure Channel branding now applies to 3 areas of different products as follows:

  VCP - DV = data center virtualization (vSphere)

  VCP-Cloud = cloud (vCloud Director)

  VCP - DT = Desktop (view)

  So VCP5-DV is the new name of VCP5, and you are a VCP4-DV and a VCP5-DV.

  I don't know if/when that VMware updates transcripts/logos.

  You can also point to the VCAP-CIA (or - CID) and you will have the VCP-Cloud certs as an option of the cross.

  Welcome to the community - this is a very complex issue and one you might not get a complex answer without additional research and training, but here's a start.

  According to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the main components of a cloud are free on-demand service, access to the vast network, pooling of resources, rapid elasticity, and measured service. VMware aligns the definition of cloud like elastic, light entry and exit, available on Internet protocols and running on a shared infrastructure.

  Cloud computing providers offer their services according to three basic models:
  Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) - in this most basic cloud service model, cloud providers offer computers, like physics, or more often than the virtual machines and other resources
  Platform as a Service (PaaS) - model of the PAA, cloud providers offer a computing platform, usually including the operating system, web server, database and programming language execution environment.
  Software as a Service (SaaS) - sometimes referred to as "software on demand", is a model of software delivery where the software and associated data are centrally hosted on the cloud.

  Hello, I assume that firms are in the cloud, because in my experience a lawyer would ask which access to information and it's always a problem.

  Not really, I know that some of those who use the cloud, the key is to understand how to properly use the cloud. For example, some lawyers use Forefront and Microsoft Exchange in the cloud. When using such a service, digital signature of e-mail makes sense but also ensure that critical data do not leave the scene, so a solution like Zscaler DLP can be justified.

  Re: jurisdiction

  You're right, it's a big problem if you are using a cloud that spans the country, but to the United States, not much cover countries and it is almost impossible for your data to be included in another country, this is why you must correctly interagate your Cloud provider to determine the limits of its jurisdiction. The European Union on the other hand can have problems with this.  A recent example is democratic party Canadian, that they wanted to use Salesforce (based in the United States), they have determined if they encryption data before placing it in Salesforce, it meets all of the conditions and that the United States could not decipher at will.  So in this case data on site encryption and placing it in the cloud are a way to work around this possible issue.

  Re: In memory has the keys

  It's true, no way around it if you do the encryption in the cloud, I suggest encryption before you leave your premises and then place it in the cloud. Very powerful in this way. Just to make sure that its usable.

  Remember it is not really on the virtual machine or the cloud itself, but security in the cloud is on the data, yes the cloud, you choose the secondary controls needs such as IDS/IPS, but ultimately it is your data that counts. Therefore, encrypt and sign necessary to confirm the integrity and confidentiality and use well known, encryption mechanisms, like something blessed by your Government which believe me did exhaustive tests and tackles cryptanalytic against it.

  Finally, do your research and due diligence, keep updated with the cloud and data attacks, so that you are prepared for the worst. This kind of intelligence is essential to the continued safety, do not depend on the tool providers to do it for you as you risk your data as such in the end data security is your responsibility.

  Re: Supplier responsibility

  In every cloud provider document I've read in the United States, you assume all risks, not them. There is no sharing of the risks here. It's your data, your responsibility. In the EU, it is a little different because of different laws.

  Encryption and digital signatures are not the end of privacy and integrity but if properly will protect your data. If you stay ontop of the intelligence about the attacks, then you will know also better ways to protect your data.

  Not all solutions of cloud IaaS and maybe if put you up an IaaS, you should consider how data moves, is operated, and know if you can use something like CipherCloud to encrypt/decrypt the data as it leaves your premises for use within your cloud IaaS...

  Hello

  In the configuration of the ESXi host, you can activate the stop / start of virtual machines with the host and also you can choose what Shutdown actions, you want to take on the host start/stop.

  Choose Startup the VM and stop, and then the properties in the client to highlight the host and on the Configuration tab.  You can then choose the Action to stop off the power, Suspend or stop Guest (needs VMware Tools)

  So to answer your question, the virtual machines will do everything what you set in the configuration if automatic start/stop is enabled!
