VCP2 - VCP5 without participation in courses?

I have an old VCP2 of 2005 - is - it true I can pass this to VCP5 if I have the exam of the VCP5 before March 10, 2015, without having to attend an official course vSphere 5?

Yes. Take a look at question 6 in the FAQ on this page: Policy of Recertification

  • Manager without participation: when DB triggers are cooked?

    Hello world

Here's a question that we faced for some time with a colleague of mine and after looking for some info on the forums and doing some tests,
We are still not sure about our conclusion.

Here's the deal: supposed we have a PERSON table with, among other things, a column that stores the last date of update. We define an INSERT trigger and update on this table. On each insert / update of operation, the trigger maintains the last date of update to date.

Through the EntityManager of Toplink, we recovered a PERSON POJO that is mapped to a record in the database. Suppose that we make changes to this PERSON object, when the trigger fires?

    -Commit?
    -On the flush?
-Both (a little would be illogical, I guess)?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hello

When a trigger is executed is more a question of a matter of TopLink/JPA DBA and depends on how you set up the trigger. While it is perhaps possible to implement your trigger must be performed when the postings of transactions (I'm not sure), an insert trigger is fired when the database receives an insert statement. The Insert statement will be sent to the database only one time, or a straight flush is triggered and if we're not, when validation is called. The validation of the EntityManager essentially flushes out all the instructions in the database before committing the transaction JDBC.

    Hope this helps,
    Chris

  • I took an ICM4 course, I should get VCP4 first and then VCP5?

    Hi all

I took ICM4 but do not yet have any VMware Certification and I am looking for it. Here are my questions:

Should I get first VCP4 and then VCP5 or just forcus on VCP5?

If I want to VCP5 without taken another course of ICM5, do I need to take the VCP4 exam as VCP5 before the end of February 2012 or I only need to get VCP4 before that date and I can take VCP5 review at any time thereafter?

If I decide to go straight to the VCP5, shoud I'm just "what's new in vSphere 5 ' or 'ICM5' couse?

    Thanks in advance!

All the certification paths are on the VMware website:

    http://myLearn.VMware.com/mgrReg/plan.cfm?plan=12457&UI=www

IMHO: you can go to the VCP4 and before the end of February take also the consideration of the VCP5.

  • VCP certification without online courses

    Hello friends,

I'm working on vmware, I havnt take vmware online courses because I don't have a lot of money. so I have handson experience in my company and I prepared myself with books and supplies.

Now iam interested to the vcp3 exam, so my question is that if I take vcp3 test without the vmware course which is about $3000, my review of vcp will be validated and get the welcome package after having passed the test.

    Help, please. and to suggest.

Hello and welcome to the forums.

«Participation in a VMware authorized training class is REQUIRED for VCP certification.» Candidates who take the VCP exam without a class will NOT be certified or confirmed by VMware. "- http://mylearn.vmware.com/portals/certification/?ui=www

You can register and take the test, but without the class, you won't be a PCV.

    Good luck!

  • Certification VCP5-VTC

    Hello

I would like to ask some questions about the program VCP5-VTC.

    (1) I must first of all win the VCA - VTC cert goes prior to the VCP5?

    (2) is the mandatory VCP5-VTC course?

On the 2nd question, I don't have enough money for the course so I can entirely rely on self-study since I was 10 years of experience in the information TECHNOLOGY sector, I really can't go to class. I have all the gear necessary for my practical training.

    Thank you

    Yes its need.

And NO, they won't ask you for evidence. You can take up the certification even without authorized VCP course but your certification will be complete and you will not receive a certificate until you have completed the training.

Think of it as a two-step process to obtain certification. Even if it is not completed, you will not be done.

What they say is true. With a battery that the laptop is protected against the fluctuation of voltage, the power cut etc. Also you will reduce the ability of your laptop to be mobile...

  • DRS: VM migrate without reason

    Hi all

I' going to a problem with my VI3 serius.

I have 6 HOSTS (ESX3.5U1) with HA/DRS (fully automated: moderate)

-3 host in a datacenter 'A Room' and three in another Datacenter "Room B".

HOST to three in the dining room having a port group specialized on a vSwitch named 'VLAN-Room-A '.

Curiously, some time, a virtual machine attached to the ports 'VLAN-Room-A' group migrates on an ESX in "Room B".

The virtual machine starts but without network of course.

I do not understand this behavior?

    Could you help me please.

    Thanks in advance.

Are all 6 hosts in the same cluster HA/DR?  If so, recreate the cluster as a separate for each room.  Otherwise, the DRS will migrate to the host that better supports the additional load and it does not check for VIRTUAL LANs.

  • Scaling of images without damaging them?

How a STEP resample images when you descale them?

This has probably been asked by anyone who has never used Fireworks, but I couldn't find anything by searching for previous posts on the subject.

And if you get wrong the proportions of an unhinged image you can get it back? without resampling of course.

    Thank you

When you import a bitmap image, convert it to a symbol (right click > convert to symbol - or - change > symbol > convert to symbol - or - F8 key). When you reduce the image it will keep the data of the image at full size, so you can then expand again until the original size without loss of quality.

Regarding the proportions, the best practice is of course never ruin everything first (which is really not a lot ask of someone who the work includes the design.) It's a skill very very basic), but if you were to lose the correct aspect ratio you can always edit the symbol, get the proportions of the bitmap in the symbol, noting the size and then apply it to the instance of the symbol in the document by entering the size manually.

  • Renew expired certification

So now that may 08 has passed and I'm guessing a lot of holders of VCP have expired certifications, what is the way to renew these?

Looking at the certification VCP5-VTC page, is unclear:

Track 1: It all started with Data Center Technologies

    Nope, already had a VCP4/5.

Track 2: If you have a valid secure Channel certification.

No, it has expired, so not valid (I guess?). This seems more destined to the update of VCP4 anyway.

Track 3: you have completed a 5 day course that qualifies for the VCP4-VTC Certification, but has failed to meet the DCV VCP4 exam.

Yet once more to hold VCP4, but again not relevant to someone who had a VCP valid

Track 4: If you are a current VTC VCP5 who took the exams VCP510 and must now obtain a new certification.

I guess that's the closest, so until September 30, we can make the delta review to validate our current expired certificates?

Without doubt, if we wanted to get VCP6 then we would either need make what's new course, or have a valid VCP5 and review of VCP6 (currently in beta, but I guess there will be overlap normal ~ 6 months without requirement of course)

Expiration of your certification, you must meet the requirements of training and pass a test.  Training requirements for the VCP550 include vSphere 4 CIM + what's new 5.5.

  • VCP550 Clarification of DELTA

    Hello

Would it not possible to clarify the requirements for the following 3 pre test?

VCP550-VTC (Delta) - it's one you can take online.

    VCAP55-DCA

    VCAP55-DCD

I was led to believe that VCP5.0 certification (which I currently hold) was a pre - req sufficient for the Delta.

I think this is wrong and that the 5.1 is the actual pre - req.

If 5.1 s pre-required for the Delta, I prefer to go a little further and take exams VCAP rather than Delta.

Is there a time limit (such as the date of 10 March) on the VCAP exams?

I can take these VCAP exams at any time without making the course of 5 days VMware?

    Best regards

  • VCP410 is a nightmare

It's more of a statement than a question, but I failed the VCP410 exam this morning (for the 3rd time), I must say that the review seems does not rely on the review plan (maybe 10%).  I studied my brains for this test on 3 occasions, especially for the latter.  I have read and read about the docs, taken practical reviews online and done everything I can think of... nothing helps.  It seems that if you don't work with VMware products on a daily basis, you lose all of your time with this review.  Ahh... it's good that out!  Feel free to comment back.

I disagree with your comment about the review are not based on the EHR Architecture, I'm a VCP2 through VCP5 and whenever I come from one of the reviews I thought that the elements of the review were incredibly fair compared to the objectives set out in the management plan.

Maybe it's something on your technique during the actual examination, how you approach the elements of the review - I wrote review for VCP4 and VCP5 preparation workshops, I have trained dozens of people through these workshops and have seen many cases where people know their stuff but their technique caused them problems.

As you know yourself, you are now too late to qualify for the VCP5 without having to follow a training of vSphere 5 - you can then skip VCP4 and go straight to VCP5 if you want.

  • VCP 4.1 review till?

    Hello

I had this dezember last class "VMware vSphere: install, configure, manage [4.0]. The end of the course 9 dezember.

I want to know, what is the last date (for me) to do the exam for VCP 4.1?

Is it December 9 this year?

Or do I dezember hole to pass the examination one get the VCP?

    kaywat wrote:

Thank you I know that now.

But I learned that I have to make the review less than a year after the end of the course. Deletes after a time of thatr I can do the review, but I will not get the VCP because the course is more than a year ago.

I don't want to waste money in leting this course will expire.

You worry, if you took one of the approved classes vSphere 4 (i.e. install config manage, fast track, etc.) then it is not a time limit for pass your VCP4 exam before it expires.

If you have received a free trial voucher, so maybe it's in source of the expiration date that you are thinking.

The date of February 29 is the last a VCP4 current can take and pass a test of VCP5 without additional classes in order to obtain the title of VCP5.

  • Pole #1 PC Performance and RAM: quantity, average, maximum size of files Adobe

Do a little research here regarding the performance of the PC and the main memory/RAM.

If you all could estimate/Riddle the minimum and maximum amount of files Adobe program, as well as file sizes, by each program (Illustrator, Photoshop etc...) I drop the results into a spreadsheet and provided details to etc. (at least attempt, based on number/quantity of participants, if the top I'll provide statistics at the end).

Also indicate what is the size of the file you usually launched and how many of them. These averages are expected to produce some very interesting/useful information.

More people who best meet of course (unless this has been done or his stats there somewhere already).

Since I work mostly in Illustrator, these are the files that I took to target when looking for my storage by specifying the .ai extension. (both bad operating system couldn't do the math).

I specifically made the research by entering the generic asterisk before the file extension, for example: * .ai, then by specifying all storage locations (Windows, choose 'My Computer' etc., Mac do not know, I have one, just don't use it often so that if anyone would care to specify it).

For windows, the status bar at the bottom of the window has provided total number of files. To get out of the category, I've just enlarged screen and first counted the number of files poster by scrolling the window. Then moved/positioned column size of file, you click this header to sort etc. from the bottom up, then began to scroll the window with a simple click of mouse (not by the arrows) and counted the pages for the file/category varies so thought to them.

    My results (rounded):

    Illustrator

    Total files: 900 +.

    Min. size: 3KB

    Maximum size: 300, 00KB (or 300 MB)

Based on the results of research and my some quantities of products and file sizes, I created 5 file size categories:

    1-0-1, 000 KB(1MB)

    2 1, KB(1MB) - 2, KB(2MB) 000 000

    3 2, KB(2MB) - 10, 000 KB(10MB) 000

    4 10, 000 KB(10MB) - 50, 000 KB(50MB)

    5 200, 000 KB +.

    360 files in category 1

    300 cases in Cat. 2

    220 files Cat. 3

    30 files in Cat. 4

    5 files in Cat. 5

    * There are duplicates

Average of Adobe programs and files of launched/open all day (or work them)

    Illustrator: 2-5 or 10 files a few cat. 3, 1 in category 5 to 300 000 KB

    Absolute maximum load

Illustrator, launched with 2,300, 00 KB (300 MB) of files, maybe 5 Cat. 3 and 5 Cat. 4, 850 000 Ko charge total (850 MB)

If someone elsehas another suggestion of structure for the post categories please, seemed to me these adapted my amount of files.

The information in it would be very helpful/insightful with regard to material resources and system performance is affected. It will also be interesting to see how the Illustrator compares to Photshop (and other programs).

I'll also post this in the forum of Photoshop.
