  • Inspiron 14z N411Z undesirable & quot; Auto & quot; Brightness adjustment

I just got my second inspiron 14z N411Z. One was sent back because of some loose rattling around inside the case and because the light would change randomly. Although my new replacement doesn't have any spare parts, it has the same problem of brightness. While some sites Web, the brightness will automatically change slightly. If it's not a huge change in brightness as using the actual brightness controls, just to be annoying.  This adjustment is not random, as happens only on some websites or parts of some Web pages. If I'm on weather.com and scroll to the middle of the page, the screen will noticeably dim itself three notches. If I scroll up, however, he goes back to its original luster. It's almost as if there is a setting of the auto brightness depending on what you are viewing.  It is a normal characteristic of these monitors, or received another lemon? If it's a feature, I'd love to tun it took off.

    Thanks for any help,

    John

It's an Intel graphics framework that should be modified for maximum performance. You can find this setting by going to control panel, power options, change the parameters of plan, advanced to change power settings, graphics settings intel. Change the power for maximum performance plan, and this should solve your problem.

  • Inspiron 14z (N411z) cannot find the webcam

The laptop came with Win 7. The webcam worked very well, but now he isn't. I am told that it is used by other programs or not connected. What should I do? Thank you.

    HANSON,
Thank you. I bought my N411Z Dell about a year ago and tried to fix it for the straight, I spent countless hours over 8 months.

And I just tried to press the hard webcam, right next to the lens and the top of the screen and it worked!

I installed the drivers a lot, a lot, and that was the problem all along.

  • Inspiron 14z - without Audio

    Hello

Summer do the weird behavior lately on my Inspiron 14z. I am running Windows 7 (64 bit) - SP1 and when the OS is finished loading, my audio works fine... But inside a few minutes, audio completely stops working. As a temporary solution, I do the following steps:

    1. Start | Run...
    2. Type in the Strait, and select Control Panel. Sound
    3. Select speakers / headphones
    4. Click the advance tab
    5. Press the Test button

Once this is over, I'm good to go until the next app (Firefox, media player etc...) plays sound. Once they are made to play, the sound craps upward and I have to redo the same steps times.

I tried to uninstall Adobe Flash, because I thought that it might interfere with the driver sound... but no luck! I then tried to unsintalling drivers and reinstall them... still no luck!

Does anyone have any other suggestions? Is this a known issue?

If he continues to work all right then who would highlight a problem with the IDT 6.10.0.6426 version. There is an older version for your laptop, so if you decide to install an IDT driver again you could try. If you find a problem with the sockets on your laptop work not as expected, it would be because of the native Windows driver and require a driver IDT to fix.

  • Inspiron 14z upgrade to Windows 10 - device issues

In the newly deployed GetWindows10 application, there is an option to 'Check PC' - when I chose this option on my Inspiron 14z, I get:

Windows 10 will work on this PC

This PC can be improved, but there may be some problems.

    Devices of

These devices are not completely compatible with Windows 10

AMD Radeon HD 7570 M (with an icon beside it bluetooth?)

You're going to have problems with your screen

These devices may not work properly after the upgrade

Bluetooth Server (with the same bluetooth icon)

    Intel Corporation

I am not inclined to be updated if it will translate into problems with my screen OR my bluetooth. Any change that Dell is going to release updated drivers to solve these problems? Other options?

Unfortunately, we received no list of systems Dell will make drivers for installed hardware.
  • Dell Inspiron 14Z 5423 windows 10 start-up questions?

    Hello

I've updated my laptop (inspiron 14Z 5423) to windows 10 July 29. After the upgrade, wifi wifi settings and options don't appear in the settings menu. I tried to run the dell diagnostic tools but all results are reported as 'past' (how could it happen?..) and I thought it might be due to driver problems and tried to re - install the wifi drivers. to my surprise, I couldn't find the drivers on the dell site and after making "detect label service for the driver update." ... He says that drivers are up to date.

So... after the disappointment full... I have restored my OS on windows 8.1 and everything worked fine. Once August 1st... a menu jump on my cell phone saying... .your laptop computer is good to upgrade as the team tested DELL and no sign of any problems... blah blah. I thought that maybe this time the upgrade can run and updated my OS... and again disappointed to notice that wifi has not detected in windows 10. .the without option... I tried the "Reset" option in windows 10 to clean install.

This time wifi worked and I am happy and 'sound' has not detected. Yet once ran all the dell diagnostics... all the results show 'passes '. Tried to download the dell sound card drivers... dell site but I could not see anything in the site

When running the tests in the start menu... I met error blue screen and then my laptop could not start and I heard only 3 beeps?

Tried to reset the button located under the latoptop... but no use. All other users 14Z facing the same issue?

    Hi douglas,.

Has your laptop it guaranteed? If yes you can call support technique dell to repair the laptop

    sgasrock

I think I have a possible solution to replace the cmos battery. Since I have no warranty and most of the tech people say outright what chipset or motherboard failure. Please open the youtube link and find a 'James C' comment that says it fixed 3 beeps changing a cmos battery

    www.YouTube.com/watch

I propose this solution... only if you have not guaranteed, and besides I thought to change the cmos battery after purchase

  • Ultrabook dell inspiron 14z sound does not work

My Ultrabook Dell Inspiron 14z with windows 8 is about a year and I had no problem. However, since July 11, when my system updated automatically update critical windows my sound has not worked. When I restart the laptop it starts working again, but not sure after how long (or if after connecting to the internet) it stops working again. In my sounds-> record, I saw that Microphone array is selected however microphone is disconnected (it has a red mark on it). Help, please.

We have recently seen many reports about this sort of thing. Countiss Forum member wrote that it is because of Microsoft...

«KB2962407 update, which which says it fixed "Shortened battery life when an inactive audio device is not turned off on a computer running Windows".»

You don't have to do a system restore to get rid the updates; easier to go to Windows Update, view update history. On the top of this screen, click installed updates. Then just right click the update you want to uninstall.

Found this fix on eightforums dot com".

Try that and see if it helps.

  • Reference Dell inspiron 14z turns is not on!

I bought a dell inspiron 14z 5423 one two months ago, today morning I press the power button and nothing! no response no sound!

When the power adapter on, no light on the dell. but on the green card of the light. What is the problem?

p.s its ultrabook and I can not eject the battery.

    Hi Oren1033,

I apologise for the inconvenience. I ask you to disconnect the AC adapter and reboot the system. To reset, use a paper click or PIN to reset the system by inserting the sharp tip in the hole under the laptop reset security. Refer to the image below:

NOTE: Resetting the system causes the unsaved data to be lost. The reset option resets the laptop or the operating system to factory settings. By pressing the button Reset turns off the system.

If the problem persists even after reset, check if the system starts and runs diagnostics on hardware from the system. Hold down the Fn key and the power of the computer. See also the following link for assistance.

  • How to connect an external Microphone for Dell inspiron 14z 5423

Hello I have a dell inspiron 14z 5423 and I try to use the external microphone that I need, but I don't know if the socket on my laptop is good.

    Hello Nicolas,.

    Thanks for the quick response.

It is possible that the computer won't recognize microphone correctly because of corrupted audio drivers.

I suggest to update audio drivers from this link and then try to connect a microphone.

  • Customization of the Inspiron 14z?

Hey everybody! This is probably a silly question...

Someone told me that the Inspiron 14z custom models can be ordered in red fire. Pre-generated system usually only come in black. How do I customized order a 14z so I can get it in red?

Unless it's an option in the customization section, you can't.   Sometimes special models of PC "s are custom made for places such as QVC that have colors, but these types are available on special offers.»

  • Version HDMI on Qosmio X 70-A12X

    Hello

I have a Qosmio X 70 - A12X. My question is whether it has the 2.0 version of HDMI?

Maybe someday I will understand why these kinds of questions can be put directly to the manufacturer.

Thanks for you replies in advance.

    Hello

I was not able to find accurate info, but Googling autour, I found the info that the HDMI port on your machine supports HDMI 4 K (3840x2160@30Hz).

You have very good piece of hardware.
Are you happy with it? I would like to have one, but it's a bit expensive for me.

  • Dell Inspiron 14z Wi - Fi connectivity issues

I have a brand new Ultrabook Dell Ispiron 14z.  I keep having problems with Wi - Fi connectivity.  I can use the Ethernet connection very well, but when I try to connect to the Wi - Fi I'm getting no access or limited connectivity.  I have other devices and laptops that work very well on the same Wi - Fi networks.

Help, please.  I hope that I don't have to send the laptop back but if Wi - Fi does not work it sort of defeats the purpose.

    Thank you

    Dave

I bought the laptop series Inspiron 5000 14 at costco, a week ago. I have problems to major wifi adapter, which if you look at the thread on the community support forums, seems to be a design flaw with the location of the wifi radio models in this (and a few other Inspiron).

    See: http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/network-internet-wireless/f/3324/t/19589278

This is a showstopper for me and I'll return the laptop to Costco as soon as POSSIBLE. I'm looking at a similar replacement machine (non-Dell) and found a decent deal at Best Buy for a Toshiba Satellite 14 '' touchscreen with similar specs as the Dell.

    http://www.BestBuy.com/site/Toshiba-Satellite-14-touch-screen-laptop-Intel-Core-i5-6GB-memory-750gb-hard-drive-satin-gold/6128128.p?ID=1219191185727&skuId=6128128&St=i5&CP=1&LP=3

I hope this helps others who are considering this phone or who bought this laptop to understand the issues with the Intel Dual Wireless 3160 adapter. This is not an incident isolated - just do a search on google for 'wifi dell inspiron 5000 14 problems' and there are many stories of customers with similar problems.

Shame on you Dell to put out such a piece under the normal material. I'm not impressed.

  • Inspiron 14R vs Inspiron 14Z

I am narrowing down my choice of a 4110 Inspiron 14R out to Dell and then I read the press release for the 14z that I find very appealing because it is lighter, includes Dell Studio, and seems to have great WiFi. If I'm looking for similar specs (Intel i5, hard drive 7200 RPM) is the value 14z the ~ $200 price increase?

When I began to customize the 14z they failed a CTO option for a 7200 RPM HARD drive. I can tell you of experienced staff that - even if Dell only said there is a difference of .24lbs - carry a heavy laptop has a fatigue factor higher; also, size, as well as small differences, can play in this. Especially if you are carrying around with other elements. Alone, speed disk HARD not to resist, would be why I'd get the 14z on the 14R. Screen resolutions are the same, CPU & RAM too so I can't say that I have a lot different reason a 14R on a 14z. If you're carrying not around a lot, you save money, this economy is a little rough.

  • Windows installation 8.1 on the 32 GB SSD in the Inspiron 14z

Hi, I have a Dell Inspiron 5423, which is an i5, 4 GB ram, 500 gb HDD and SSD of 32 GB.

I read some messages in the forum where experts have suggested that Windows should not be installed on the SSD and should only be used for caching purposes. However when I asked on twitter handle Care of Dell said they generally follow the installation of the operating system on the drive MSata. It felt confusing.

Please recommend if it's alright to install windows 8.1 on the SSD... or should I install the OS on the hard disk of 500 GB and SSD has only use caching for goal.

The person who told you about Dell had no idea what they were doing, if they recommended to do this. If you intend actually to your computer, i.e. wanting to install all programs outside of Windows the ssd will get full and performance will therefore come to a standstill. Updates and even temporary files will take a sizable chunk of the ssd. I tried even with a 64 GB ssd and it was too small. 128 GB is a realistic minimum and is quite an affordable/useful upgrade.
