video acceleration to the max.

I have a hp presario sr1303wm, which had windows xp home. Now, I have installed windows 7 and need to update my ram and software or video card. Is there something and or view to help get this web site. Thank you, will be appriciate any infor.

Plumber1958, welcome to the forum.

Here is the Product Specifications page for the computer.

To be honest, the problem you are experiencing is an old computer that simply cannot deal with Web pages.  What are the video hogs.

The maximum amount of memory you can install is 1 GB.  The sweetspot for Win 7 is 2 GB.  Win 7 will be painfully slow with 1 GB video memory the memory is shared with the system memory.  Then, it uses 64 MB of system memory, if not all, of the time when you surf.

The motherboard has a video card slot AGP1.  I am not sure that you can find a video card that works.

With all that against you, the power supply is probably 250W.  It is not enough to power one of the video cards more recent if you could find one.

I'm sorry to be so blunt, but I don't want spend you your hard earned money and still not be satisfied with the performance you get.  My suggestion is to save your money and buy a new computer.  I would be happy to recommend a HP computer would you seduce with its performance.

Please, click on "Thumbs Up +" if I helped you and click "Accept as Solution" If your problem is resolved.

  • resolution 2560 x 1440 has suddenly stopped working. 1080 p now the max option available

    I have 2010 macbook pro (el capitan) and ASUS H257HU monitor that supports the resolution 2560 x 1440. Until yesterday, I was able to get the full resolution, but suddenly it has stopped working and the max resolution I could get was 1080 p.

    I tried to reset the smc and NVRAM, but that did not help.

    In safe mode, I followed the suggestion of apple and was able to get resolution of 2560. But it reboots the machine back to 1080 p. Hold down the option key and clicking on the option scale does not display any resolution above 1080 p.

    I've tried searching and following some recommendations, but no permits.

    Restart the computer and enter views sometimes give 2560 option, but clicking on it makes the screen turns blue and then it always comes back to 1080 p, with no options available in the dialog on the scale. The System Preferences dialog box hangs for a few seconds.

    Someone at - he fell on the same issue and found a solution. I don't know why he suddenly stops working, while still being able to work in safe mode but not in normal condition. I tried to remove the profiles as well.

    With bootcamp (win 7), the display works fine with 2560 x 1440.

    The connector I use is screen Mini DisplayPort.

    Hello there, moths.

    It seems that you are having problems to select the resolution you want on your external display from ASUS. Great job with the troubleshooting, you've done so far. The following Knowledge Base article offers strong information to look over and review, as well as links to some additional troubleshooting content:

    Get help with graphical problems on external displays connected to your Mac.

    Before you start

    You can solve many problems of display by updating the software on your Apple devices, cables and adapters. If you see an image on your screen, look for the software updates using the Mac App Store:

    1. Connect your external display and Apple video cables or cards that you use with it.
    2. In the Apple menu, click App Store.
    3. Click updates in the window of the App Store.
    4. Install OS X updates or firmware are listed.

    If you use a display, hub, extenders or adapter not made by Apple, check with the manufacturer for updates that might be available.

    If you try to connect a screen 4 K or Ultra HD TV with your Mac, make sure that your computer meets the requirements for the use of these external displays.

    If your firmware and software are up to date, or if you don't see the image on your screen, try the steps below for your specific problem.

    {...}

    Check the connections

    Check the connections on your Mac and external screens:

    • If you use an Apple laptop computer, try to connect the AC adapter.
    • Make sure that the power cable from the external display is connected correctly and that your display is enabled.
    • If you are using a Mac Pro (end of 2013), make sure that your screens are plugged into the right ports.
    • If you use a hub of display, Cabinet or "KVM", try to connect the video cable from your screen directly to your Mac instead.
    • Unplug the video cable where it plugs into your Mac, then reconnect to reinsert the connection.
    • If you are using a video card, unplug the video adapter on your Mac, then reconnect to reinsert the connection.
    • If you use multiple video cards to connect your screen (the cards are "chained"), testing connection of the screen by using a single adapter if possible. Some video cards may not be linked together. For example, a mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter may not be connected to an adapter DVI to HDMI.
    • If your screen has more than one video connection, see if you are using another connection on the display works. If possible, check if you use a different view or a different adapter works.
    • Try using another cable that you know to be in working condition. Check with the manufacturer of the screen to make sure that you use the cable they recommend.

    Detect your display

    If you use an external monitor, sleep and wake your Mac to check for connected screens:

    1. Press the power button on your computer to standby, or choose the Apple menu > sleep.
    2. Wait a few moments, and then press a key on your keyboard or click your mouse or trackpad to wake up your Mac.

    If you use more than one screen, and you can see the image on one of the screens, you can also use the preferences monitors to check the connected screens.

    Adjust video settings

    If there is no image on the screen, try adjusting the brightness or contrast of the screen. If there is still no picture or image appears torn, or scrambled, try selecting a different video resolution in system preferences. Adjust brightness

    • If you use an Apple Display Monitor, press the key to increase brightness your Apple keyboard. To adjust the brightness of a secondary screen, press Control + F2.
    • If you use a view that is not made by Apple, see the documentation that came with your monitor to see if it includes built-in controls to adjust the brightness or contrast.

    Change your display resolution

    1. In the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.
    2. Click the display icon.
    3. Click default for display. If you see more than one resolution listed, choose a resolution and refresh rate. If the display turns off when you change resolutions, press the ESC key to cancel the change.

    If you can not change the resolution of your screen because you see no image, restart your Mac in safe mode to reset the default display resolution.

    If booting safe mode doesn't resolve the problem, reset your Mac NVRAM and SMC to reset the video ports on your Mac to their default values.

    Search for software third display

    If your monitor only works when your Mac is started in safe mode, and related to the software display is installed, check with the developer of the software for updates, or try to uninstall temporarily.

    {...}

    Just a guess but maybe your video driver would need
    an update.

    Reduce the graphics hardware acceleration is a
    a simple way to test the video driver.  If there is one
    improvement... is a strong indication that your video
    driver requires an update.

    Proceed at your own risk *.

    (The basic steps for Windows 7 should be...
    Start button.
    Control Panel.
    Appearance and personalization.
    Display settings. /
    Advanced Settings.button.
    Troubleshoot tab.
    Change settings button...
    Click left/drag the acceleration hardware cursor for
    the left, one notch to the right of None / OK.)

    Now... try to play one of the video clips of problem and
    see if the problem is improved. After the test, return the
    slider to full.

    (Note: If you can't adjust the graphics hardware)
    Acceleration... that means you've got integrated
    Graphics and do not have a separate graphics card.

    In this case, you can always try to update video
    driver, but the best source would be the computer
    manufacturer or the manufacturer of the motherboard.)

    (For a real kick in graphics performance, installation)
    a separate video card may be something to consider.)

    To find an updated video driver, search support
    your manufacturer of computers and video sites
    card manufacturer for an updated video driver...

    The following article is maybe worth a visit:

    Update the graphic driver - Windows 7, Vista
    http://helpx.Adobe.com/Creative-Suite/KB/update-graphics-driver-Windows-7.html

    If you find a video updated driver... it would be a
    good idea to create a system before Restore Point
    install. Also be sure to follow any installation
    instructions which may be available on the download site.

    Good luck...

  • Full screen video mode, preserving the size of objects

    Hello

    My task is to show a video player using the full screen. I have no problem doing that, but I need to perform in such a way that only video scales to full screen while other objects (the player controls) remain unadjusted. If I just go full screen - mode everything onstage is furred naturally.

    Playing with the functions of full screen I could come up with the only solution that is to calculate a scale factor (based on, say, stage.width and stageWidth) and adjust the dimensions of the player controls and position accordingly.

    Is the best way to preserve the sizes of objects or there is a better technique?

    I was hoping that each display object has it's own scene and I could show only video fullscreen by doing something like:

    _video.stage.fullScreenSourceRect = screenRectangle;
    _video.stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN;

    but he's still developing all objects.

    Thanks much for sharing you experience (or sources).

    Hello

    I must apologize for my stupidity in the post in 2008-06-19 12:08:40 (as well as other incidents of my brain dysfunction). I made statements that are not true. For example, I said: "their assumption was that video is the King, and by default to go fullscreen is to resize the video only." It's BS. They don't make this assumption and, in fact, programmers have complete control over the display.

    kglad, you inspired me to look deeper into the hardware acceleration and now I understand better things (or so I hope).

    I do deviate acceleration hardware and all resizing occurs by program.

    My understanding is that when using the Rectangle across the video - he dimensionnera everything that is within the limits of the rectangle. I couldn't find a way to scale just a video using the rectangle. I was hoping that working a line as follows:

    _video.stage.fullScreenSourceRect = screenRectangle;
    _video.stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN;

    He did but in the same way that (note there no _video in scope)

    stage.fullScreenSourceRect = screenRectangle;
    stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN; -which means that everything is scaled up.

    I don't think I fully understand the concept of stage again because in my mind that each object display had it's own step and this step translates the scene of a higher display object (parent). Actually, when I speak of stage - it takes the reference to the highest stage.

    kglad, if you find the time to clarify this point - it would be a huge contribution to humanity :-)

    Back to the description of how I coded full screen WITHOUT using hardware acceleration (in case someone still hope my intellect :-):)

    Step 1. A mechanism that responds to the wish of the user to see the screen full of thing.

    It could be a button with a listener added. The listener will change stage.displayState

    Step 2. Create a mechanism which reacts to changes in displayState.

    a. get System.Capabilities.screenResolutionX and screenResolutionY - these two parameters will tell you how wide and high video possible.

    b. calculate desired video dimensions based on the height and width of resolution and video metadata. This means that one of the ratios will give you scale factor. For example:

    var scaleFactor:Number = Capabilities.screenResolutionY/metaData.info.height will define how it increased (by definition _video.scaleY and scaleX = scaleFactor) using this scale factor newly calculated (assuming you want all the video screen filling).

    c. balance video. Center it if you wish.

    d. hide the objects you want to be shown in the view full screen

    e. visible positions of objects in a desired way. For example, move the player to the bottom of the screen controls calculate x and y, once again, by using parameters screenResolution.

    When the user leaves the mode full screen - reverse what has been done: resize the video at its original size, the positions of origin x and y, see other items, move the Player control to which they belong.

    Fact.

    A brief look at the approach is to enter full screen mode without resize the SWF to the origin. If no further action taken - your player look as it seems at the origin: all the preserved dimensions and swf is the position where there is default (left, Center, or right). And then resize/reposition specifications.

    It will be useful.

    Thanks kglad!

  • Why am I video ads on the pages of link

    My problem starts after I open a Web site, and then click an item in the Web site. Sometimes a problem with Firefox can be a result of malware installed on your computer, you may not be aware of.

    You can try these free programs to search for malicious software that work with your existing anti-virus software:
