Video editing in Photoshop - unsatisfied desires (waveform in the drawing tour - mitigation, ease-out - audio)

Hello, I edit videos in Photoshop CC (available first, but no option, see below). I edit screencasts in numbers almost industrial, and while in the aspects most Photoshop CC seems more useful than the first my specific needs, there are a few things that I sorely lacking:

  • Audio track should show the waveform
  • Mitigation, ease-out for dynamic expansion or objects in motion (as opposed to the strictly linear change)
  • To show a contour round or square drawn as if by a pencil on paper

Is - this somehow availabe/feasible in video editing Photoshop CC? I am aware that this wish list is answered by creation, but I use it for other reasons.

These features mentioned above should be availabe in Photoshop for the creative cloud subscribers who subscribe to the entire suite (not only Photoshop/Lightroom)?

PS.

And I'm not going to use first, please accept. In fact, I used Camtasia video editor about 10 months, which was very nice for screencasts and addressed to all my points above. But in Camtasia, upscale footage seemed blurred, while Photoshop pixel replication value creates much better enlargements of dishes GUIs.

Hi and thanks for joining in.

Also have you considered first? It's not cloud as Pro, you own it outright. It can have only the features you need.

  • Lightroom 3 "Edit in photoshop CS4" does not retain the values of 'detail '.

    Hi all

I give a try lightroom 3 (finally...), but has noticed that when I have an image to which I applied 'detail' adjustments to reduce the luminescence and color, using "Edit in Photoshop CS4" noise opens the image without the detail adjustments applied. I don't see the option to choose whether to change 'image' or 'image with the lightroom settings' any place and I'm scratching my head trying to find an option in the preferences (prefs both LR and catalog) that allows me to choose 'change with lightroom applied settings '.

In this way, it is a bit useless.

Does anyone know how to ' Edit in...» "for lightroom 3 always apply the corrections to image to the copy of the edition?

Choose rendering with option of Lightroom - not thatdisplay? By default "Edit with" uses the version of Photoshop to Adobe Camera Raw and CS4 is older than LR3.

  • No dialog box edit in Photoshop with LR and PS are the use of ACR

I am looking for more information without success "full"... The answer closest to you what I was looking for was found in this quote, but, as in the quotation even he ask to open a new threat do not interfere with issues.

I just started having the same problem. When I edit a photo in Ps from Lr. The dialog box is not started, and if I edited in LR it takes adjustments and opens to the PS. I have Lr cc v2015.5.1 camera raw 9.5.1. I have reset all warning dialog boxes. Weird. I suspect that there is a bug. Any ideas?

Please start your own thread. Since you have LR CC 2015.5.1 you also PS CC 2015.1.2.

What you see is normal. When you select Edit in Photoshop LR and PS use the same version of ACR so no dialog is necessary. Your RAW image opens in PS with all the LR settings included as a type of RAW file waiting to be saved as all that you have selected the type of file in External Editor preferences of LR, PSD or TIF section. The only time you get this dialog window is if ACR versions do not match. LR uses a version more recent ACR uses the PS version you have installed.

Ok!! I get it but is there a way to get LR to me for anyway? Sometimes I like to play in LR to get an idea of the final image, but I'd still love to be able to edit in PS 0 and compare results once in LR. I get bored just this box!

You can get this dialog for non-premieres images. With raw images if you have the same version of ACR and LR it will always open directly.

If you want to edit from scratch, simply create a virtual copy and reset its development. Then open in Photoshop. Note that the changes in Lightroom are exactly the same as what you get in the cab.

  • "Edit in Photoshop" no longer works

The function "Edit in Photoshop" worked very well in the first and again CS5.5.  Then one day last week, using this function opens Photoshop CS3 (I never had the time to uninstall after installing CS5.5).  I uninstalled Photoshop CS3, and now I can't send items to Photoshop of first or even (the message that I said that Photoshop is not installed).  I tried to reinstall Photoshop CS5.5, but I got several error messages and installation interrupted.  Anyone know if there is a way to tell the first and yet how to connect to Photoshop manually?  Photoshop still works fine on its own.

You will probably have to re-associate with Photoshop PSD extension. Go to control panel > default programs > associate a type of file or Protocol with a specific program. Find the .psd in the list, double-click it, and then navigate to and select Photoshop as the program to associate the extension.

  • 13 elements Photoshop supports video editing?

I just joined the adobe Premiere Pro including online service.  I was told that PE13 allows video editing.  Is this true?

    Thank you.

If you mean by PE Premiere Elements, then Yes, but Photoshop Elements does not work. PSE is still software photo editing, PRE is a video editing software.

  • What would be the best video editing and photo editing software to use for an iMac for advanced users?

My first exposure to video and photo editing is on a PC with Adobe Premier and Adobe Photoshop.  I own a Macbook Air and have used iMovie and iPhoto.  It took me a few years to sort and organize thousands of photos archived and videos.  Now, with the changes in Final Cut Pro and the loss of the opening, I am, even once, sitting on the fence.  Compatibility between the software has always been a controversial issue and that you accumulate more and more files, it would be nice if Apple should keep in mind to develop software that can be upgraded seamlessly without losing or change any data.  For example, the photo is correct, once you become familiar with it. However, personally, I like the way events were created in iPhoto, but also how you can scrub through each event, just sweep a finger of each event.  Now in the Photos, you need to scroll right rows and rows of pictures, which seems to be a step backward when it comes down to the speed and convenience. I finally have the time to go back to my hobby of video editing and I was about to buy an iMac or a Macbook Pro.  What is the best choice for video and photo editing, or should I be looking back to Adobe?

You can go to Phase One's Capture One.

  • Y at - it a video editing software that I could use.

I was asked to edit a video together.  I have Windows 7 and Office 2010.  Is there a simple video editing software in there?

I have add more details to your previous thread if you want to further diagnose your problem with Movie Maker.

As for your current question on AVS4YOU, my guess would be that the VPS is a project file that is unique to this program.  In other words, the person who would continue to edit your project should have the same editing program, the project file and all the source files in the same places on their PC.

All video editing software are probably very similar in this regard.  For example, in Movie Maker, when you add items to your project, add transitions, etc. that they will appear in your project file.  In the case of Movie Maker, it's a .wlmp file.  A project file contains no actual video, photos or music, just the current state of your project.  It will contain a list of all your source files (the folder and the name of the relevant media file) and the details on the changes, transitions, effects, titles, legends added, etc.  But this isn't a file that can be understood by other video editing programs.

To share the results of your changes, you must save the film resulting in a video file.  There are many formats of your choice.  For example, the latest version of Movie Maker can record in MP4 or WMV format.  That can be used in other programs.  AVS4YOU lists a number of formats too.

However, which would result in a single video file with all your changes incorporated.  He would split points, individual videos/pictures, transitions, etc.  So basically, once you start editing in a video editor, you can't transfer this session to another video editor except as a completed film.

There are exceptions, for example Adobe makes it so their other products include Photoshop files and Illustrator, or part of a project of creation may be related to an After Effects project.  Another example is that a Movie Maker project can be imported into Nero video 2014 for further processing. But it must be designed for and is not common during the passage to other video editing software.

  • Need recommendation for laptop - for video editing

I'm trying to looking for a new laptop and need recommendations based on how I use the laptop.  I produce videos and mainly use the following programs: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Encore DVD.  I also use other software such as AutoFX PGE7.0 of photo editing.

I currently have a HP Pavilion which is about 5 years old.  This office has the following specifications:

    HP Pavilion PU131AV / a1050y, Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.20 GHz, 2 GB RAM, Windows XP MCE, SP3 32-bit, Nvidia GeForce 6600

I believe that with a new laptop, I was able to create my videos more efficiently.  If you have any input as to what I need in a laptop for my specific purpose, please let me know.

    Thank you very much

old computer: HP Pavilion PU131AV / a1050y, Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.20 GHz, 2 GB RAM, Windows XP MCE, SP3 32-bit, Nvidia GeForce 6600
    new computer: HPE-180 t, Windows 7 Pro (64 bit), Nvidia GeForce GT 220, Intel Core i7 - 930 quad-core CPU @ 2.80 GHz, 8 GB of RAM

For what you are doing you need all the horsepower you can gather. You have not specified a budget and with what you're trying to do, I don't think that it would be useful to think of anything less than a thousand dollars. You need at least 4 GB of memory and preferably 8. You need a 64 bit version of Windows 7. You need a quad core or i7 processor. Regarding the size of the screen, it's a matter of personal choice, but I don't see how you can get in with less than a 15-inch screen. In respect to the HP products you can consider the urge again, but the problem is the lack of an internal optical drive (CD/DVD type).

HP is running a special offer on the dv6t Quad model with an i7 processor, $ 999 with a free upgrade to 4 GB of RAM and a concert full of video memory. While your P4 3.2 was the killer at a time where it was released, the dv6t Quad run rings around her, particularly in Photoshop. Make sure that you use a recent version of Photoshop with 64-bit and support multi-core. Also be sure to get the 7200 RPM hard drive, because it makes a big difference in video editing.

    Good luck and enjoy.

  • Impossible to save raw files I edit in Photoshop and save as a JPEG, appear in Lightroom

I'm migrating from an iMac to a Windows 10.  When I edited the raw on the mac version of Photoshop files and saved as jpeg files, they appeared in Lighroom.  On the new machine Windows 10, raw files I edit in Photoshop and save it in JPEG format do not appear in Lighroom, although they are physically in the directory.  Why don't Lighroom automatically displays?  Is not supposed to help me please.

    Thank you.

If you still wish to JPGs of Photoshop-

Open preferences / surface-mounted and set the "File Format" in JPG format.

    The procedure is then:

    Select the image in LR

Right click and choose "Edit in"-Photoshop.

When you are done in Photoshop, use 'save' (or simply close the photo, and PS will ask you to "Save")

    * Do NOT use 'Save AS'.

Whenever you use 'Save AS' and change the file format (for eg. open as TIFF, save as jpg or open as RAW and save - AS a different format preferably LR) Lightroom does not know this 'new' file that you create.

As you note - any file will save in the folder, and to see these 'new' files LR you need simply Right click the FOLDER and "synchronize a folder...". "This 'important' the 'new' image in the library.

Mohit suggestion is another way to get the image in LR, keeping it in a file auto-importations, but you will need to set up this folder first as in his music video screen, is not available by default.

  • How to edit audio like video editing

    Hello

Is it possible to implement the hearing so that I can edit audio in a similar way to how the video editing is done?

That is to say in the first I can open an item in source preview monitor, located in and off peak to select a range, and then drag the selected range in the timeline, where fine adjustments can be made, etc.

I don't see a way to do something similar in hearing without constantly switch between multitrack and waveform modes, highlighting a section and then right click > insert into multitrack.

For example, if I wanted to produce a sound documentary records on the field, I would want to work in a multitrack session, but I do not go to waveform mode, whenever I want to bring in a selection from a source file.  There must be a way to do it - but I can't!

I hope that all makes sense - I know that editing video and audio have very different traditions!

    Thank you

Hearing short of a system tray, so you can't do it exactly like the video at present. I know that this issue has been addressed, but I have no idea of the current state of the idea.

So right now, if you open a source to the waveform file, you can place markers around the pieces you want to use. You must create ranges of marker, then for each group, you select the markers at each end and use the button 'merge '. When you have all the beaches merged, you can highlight all, and with a right-click, there is an option to "Insert into multitrack. Up to present, so good, but it's where the absence of a bin appears; the only options you have are to insert each item in the sequence on a track, or each on its own individual track. In other words, they are already on your timeline, and you have to juggle them from there.

Yes, I realize that most video editors find it somewhat tedious - so discussions on the bins.
