Video effects for a horror/thriller trailer

I work to restore a trailer as a different kind, and I was wondering how to do some effects.  How do you the white flash on the screen (not a dip to white transition but in the middle of the clip) and flash that shows a negative of the original image as you see in some horror/thriller trailers?

Hi owiseone,

Here's how I would build the effect.

  1. Create a "negative image".

    1. Apply the opposite effect: Video Effects > channel > reverse
    2. Try different channel Options. I chose "lightness".
  2. Desaturate the colours on the negative image.
    1. Apply a fast color corrector
    2. Take the Saturation to 0.
    3. Adjust the slider to input to taste levels
  3. Manually make the effect flash on and off with the original clip using the strobe effect, or adding the effect to add edits.
    1. First, follow these steps

      1. Copy-paste the attached to V2.
      2. Remove the effects of the clip on V1.
    2. Do one of the following for the clip on the V2:
      1. Apply the strobe effect: Video Effects > esthetics > strobe light and adjust the settings to your liking.
      2. With the Razor tool or the keyboard shortcut add modify, create some splices that are several frames long, create them to be the same length, at random times. Remove portions of the clamp between the changes to add it.
  4. Reproduce the effect and adjust the settings until you are satisfied with the effect.
    1. Set up a range to play out
    2. Enable looping
    3. Adjust the settings in one of the effects as they play in to out.

Hope that helps!

  • feeling a little cheated - Mac version has fewer transitions and video effects for the PC version

I just read in the book of Steve Mac of first items 11 a signficantlly a version number lower transition and effects video as the PC version. The Mac version seems still gives more than iMovie, but what? Why would it be the idea behind offer less in this regard?

    Thank you

    Tony

This disparity has been discussed repeatedly in the Premiere Pro forum. Adobe highlights the differences between the way in which the operating system Windows and Mac OS, as the reason - some Transitions and effects do not work on a Mac.

If this list is now a few old versions (CS 4 PrPro), it covers what were then the differences. PrPro CS 6, some PC Transitions and effects were also eliminated, since some would not work with the graphics MPE/CUDA, even on the PC: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/460313?tstart=1470

Adobe has been able to port a little more on the Mac, but not nearly all of them.

    Good luck

  • I have Premiere pro for cs6 and I am looking for a video effect that has like a blurred background rectangle and inside the rectangle is just normal video a little smaller that I posted a link to what I'm talking her within the first ten seconds of this

    https://www.Google.com/URL?SA=t & source = web & rct = j & ei = Can0VKmmOoSVNpyGhNAN & url = http://m.yout ube.com/watch%3Fv%3D3g_K8RyGUeI & ved = 0CB8QtwIwAQ & usg = AFQjCNFI0ivwTaEa02S1jVj6_z2DEt9t9w I just need the name of this video effect

Put your video clip on the video track 1. Put the SAME element above himself on the video 2 track. Select 2 video clip and go to the EFFECT controls panel and open MOTION. Scale to 50% or what sounds good to you. This creates the PIP or ' Picture in Picture '. Then select (click on) the V1 video and go to the EFFECTS tab and find the (type in the search window) Gaussian blur effect. Apply to the V1. Set "Fuzzy" to taste. The only thing missing at this point is the outline in white for the PIP. I don't think that there is an 'effect' to do this, I could be wrong. But you should be able to use the shape tools in the Titler to pretend quite easily. For example, just do a solid white box slightly larger than the picture. Move the clip V2 to V3 and put the title on V2, sandwiched between two video clips. As the box is larger that the video scaling, white edges would show behind clip PIP.

    Hope this helps you

  • How to export video from CC effects for an iPhone? I use a PC.

How to export video from CC effects for an iPhone? I use a PC.

Short answer, there is no simple "export to iPhone", but if you just want to have a movie that you can watch on your iPhone, you just send an attachment by e-mail (other than the .avi) and save it to your phone.

Alternatively, you can use dropbox in option.

With an application, you can mount your iPhone as an external drive. (see iExplorer)

Also: Check SOUL h264 variations before you send it to yourself.  There are presets for the compression of the iPhone.

  • video effects

    Hello

I am completely new to video editing and I love the effects behind this video:

    https://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=5ohDG7RqQ9I

I would like to know how it was made and if it is possible to do it with Adobe Premiere

Any suggestion, recommendation or tutorials are welcome

    Thank you

The presenter was shot on a green screen (green screen of google for how to do this).

The presenter was so isolated from the background using the chromakey function available in After Effects or Premiere. (again once, look for chromakey see how it works).
The background images would have been created in photoshop or illustrator or maybe drawn and scanned to the computer by hand.
Background images are then animated using motion of first or After Effects functions. Google to animate still images in After Effects for more information on how to do it.

These aren't techniques for beginners, but they are not so difficult, once you understand how they work.

  • New video, editing for AE, questions of GPU system

    Hi all

I'm about to set up a new system to be used mainly for After Effects CS6 and first CS6. I have some difficulty to choose good GPU... If anyone of you could take the time to answer these question for me... It would be greatly appreciated!

-J' read the GTX 7xx with structure of Kepler are not taken in charge/CUDA cores are not used, this is true for do they work well?

-Is this a good video card (with 1000 + CUDA cores) help only for speeding 3D drawn with RADIUS, or the overall editing experience will be faster as well? ("seen live" when editing 'normal video', as well as the final minutes?)

-What are the critical factors to look for in a video card for editing? (GDDR RAM, Base clock, memory speed, Memory Interface width, hearts CUDA memory bandwidth) I mainly work with 1080 p digital SLR video and video effects, not a huge amount of 3d text, etc.

-If I would choose the GPU as renderer, the work will be done only by the GPU, of goes it's just 'assist' CPU?

-So far, I think the GTX 760 would be a good option, what is your opinion on this map for the edition of EI? It would be a good choice or a 6xx GTX or GTX 580 will be a much better option? My budget for the entire system (without monitor etc.) is maximum. 1000 euros.

-Would be to buy an SSD to store the program files and project files, be useful? Or that does not increase the speed in the edition of too?

The system that I have on my mind so far, recommendations and changes are welcome...

For first GPU acceleration is completely different than the acceleration of AE Ray Tracer. The specifications and the ram and CPU GPU core/clock system absolutely effect the performance of the first reading. That means selecting the correct GPU comes from an acceleration of MPE of first and the flow of work/support used. The concept that comes into play here is the processing latency. An old card with 1 GB of vram and a single or dual core CPU may be able to read a single stream of 1080 by itself without any scale. However, as soon as effects or alterations of the frame are added, then the time it takes for data to the cpu, the buffer in memory to live and then process through the GPU is long to keep reading. The speed of the clock of the CPU, Ram and GPU/Vram come into play as to how long it takes to this complete piping process. The amount of threads and cores to decide how much data can process at any point in time. The more layers and effects to deal with the more data that must be processed in a segment of the time required for reading, changes of images. This is similar to the amount of water through a pipe. This may be increased either by increasing the size of the pipe or pressure of the water in the hose of the water how fast is introduced into the hose. These two aspects have their limits depending on where the water is coming and going and what are the minimum requirements. It normally takes a balance between both the pipe size and the amount of water/pressure sent through the pipe. However the volume of water required for any segment of time over two aspects need to be increased. That is to say this translates on clock speed corresponds to the water pressure and threads of equal size. DSS also have a significant aspect dealing with latency. The latency of the SSDS is a fraction of the mechanical controls. This means that the amount of time it takes for SSD drives to manage all of the read or write requests made by the application is significantly lower. This results in lowering of the amount of time reader queries affect the overall performance of playback in real time with how fast the files are written. Codecs with different data rate requirements, often times SSD drives are cheaper options to handle data rates normally requiring an important raid configurations that are expensive. SSDS also many more applications at the same time manage which means by putting more operations on a single disc. The result is often better performance with a calendar or more complex compositions.

Comments on GPU specifications not really have an impact are relative to the AE only. This is absolutely not the case for the first, SOUL and Speedgrade, or almost any other application to GPU acceleration.

Just need to make a TC of the film burn and I spent half a day trying to get the burn to work.

    Any ideas?

    Peter,

Don't thanks for your reply, however, no results, same problem.  However, I think I can found root cause is... this issue be a designer, I have too much (managed through the information manager) installed fonts with a conflict here and there, and I had to use "helvetica" of my client and other policies from time to time.  I have activated an account on my computer (nice and clean fonts & settings) have pulled up the same document in first and BOOM rolling timecode is displayed.  So with this solution in hand, my thought is somewhere I have damaged/lost the police in my basic account that uses the first to generate timecode.  I wish there was a setting I could change into effect video timecode to choose what the police is used... maybe you might spend on product development?  Or you know precisely what the police, he uses the video effect TC?

In any case, thanks for your answer... now I'm off to go see if I can solve the problem of fonts in my basic user account.

  • Correction of luminance, HLS and accentuation of the video effects slow rendering

Hey guys - I'm troubleshooting some very slow rendering to a 10s file MOV H264 and it takes a long time to make.  When I don't have any video effects, it takes only 15 seconds to render.  With all the effects, it takes 300 s return.  My system is an i7 - 2600K, 16 GB of RAM with GeForce GTX 560 2 GB VRAM card. By disabling effects video one at a time, I narrowed down it to the luminance, HLS and unsharp mask representing a large percentage of the churn.  Anyone else notice this and any ideas on improving it?

    Thank you very much.

    Thank you for downloading dropbox.

I have a system simular to yours. I put the sequence to 60 p.

When I turn off the GPU effects not she makes it quickly.

With the GPU not effects its slow.

So I blame it on the effects not GPU cpu at the same time.

  • You can automate video effects?

Is this possible in first, in any version, to automate a video effect?  For example, you can start 'camera blur' effect 100% (very vague) and have it SOUPLESE to 0% (not blurred) in 10 seconds?

There is a very good tutorial on it here: http://vimeo.com/48360506

It takes you through the fixed effects and explains the help system and then shows you how the effects of keyframes. Maybe it's the best tutorial for you among all the different tutorials available.

If you like the tutorial, please mark my answer as being correct. We will other people know that you are satisfied with the answer has already been given and they spend a lot of time trying to explain what you know already now.

  • Video effects work only not on sequences embedded in first Pro CS5

    HI -.

I am having trouble with the first ProCS5. I have a project with a few clips I put together in a sequence. I put this sequence in another sequence. Here, I'll add one or two tracks of additional images and apply the color correction.

The problem is: no effects video I drag the sequence (which is now a nested sequence) has no effect. What I change in the effect control will sho not upward in the monitor. Audio effects do not work, though. In addition, none of the tracks above the nested clip are displayed. To clarify: the nested track is on V1, another clip is on V2 and V3 is a picture. Only V1 is displayed.

I know that it is supposed to work, and it doesn't in another project created in the same version on the same machine with the same kind of material. But no matter how many times I create a new project, just the application of video effects to a nested sequence does not work.

Even more strange is the fact that my applied effects appear in the "export settings" window. They do not, however, in the final rendered file. I'd say it's a bug.

What could be the reason for this behavior?

You use acclerated CUDA/GPU rendering? If so, what happens when you change the rendering mode to your software only project?

  • Just installed cs5.5, audio & video effects are missing...

Just installed cs5.5, audio & video effects are missing... What to do?

    Thank you all

Need not do anything. One of the major improvements in CS5.5, although perhaps not as well known to the public, is that the audio effects are now 'intelligent' and are unified in their mono, stereo and 5.1 counterparts. Which means that if you need, say, Reverb for a stereo clip, you just drop the effect of reverberation on it without having to find the stereo > reverb effect. They have the same effects, just much easier to apply. Check out blog post of Todd here: unified audio effects in Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5 "Premiere Pro workspace .

  • BEFORE 9: Title overlay with a 'wave of string' multiline video effect

I've tried for the following effect: superposition of a picture of a garden that's transmutation from a photo of the aircraft to a cartoon image (I succeeded with that part of the effect) with a title. On a separate part of the time line I created a title that will be a photo overlay and starts at 0 opacity goes to 100% as the "wave channel" video effect (I succeeded with that part of the effect) & then straightens as normal text - this is the part I'm not properly.

When I tell me how make what precedes, I still move this sectional piece to overlay the picture of the garden, which could be problematic

I'll gladly change this method if there is more easy to achieve the title, which is a superposition of several lines to a picture with a "wave of chain" video effect which straightens the text.

If someone has done something similar?

Although it seems that you create your title on a separate timeline effect? Not sure why you do. It makes much more sense just put on a video track above your background.

If the title is in a different project, then must consider exporting/sharing with transparency. A pre title will be transparency, but we need to taken into account, in the export action, for use in other projects. It is where Millions of colors + comes with to many formats/CODECS. The + is the Alpha channel and it will take to transparency.

  • Adding video effects plus two plays bad clip

I have a created a music video sequence consisting of a clip, cut into about 50 small clips using the Razor tool.

Now, if I add video effects more than two to one clips, Adobe CS5 first no longer displays not the original clip, but instead shows an other clips in the sequence!

It seems that the chronology mix when you apply several effects.

    Is this a known issue?

I noticed that this effect does not occur with all clips or all effects... The effects I've been unsuccessful in adding to some of the clips are, for example: time of Posterization and Echo.

I can reproduce the problem. I have not tested all the effects, but in my limited testing I could reproduce with anti-aliasing, blurry photo, sound effects and Ghost images following one of the effects of the weather.

I'll file a bug for it. You don't need to.
