Personally... I used a DVD burner to transfer my
collection of the families on DVD VHS tapes. They look
as good or better than the originals.

OK... so would the file format of the video files on DVD. VOB.
The converter that I have suggested can convert these files to WMV format.
Then... Movie Maker must recognize them.

  • Can I connect VHS Video Recorder for Qosmio G20 using the antenna in the Port?

    Hello.

I connect my G20 a very old VCR. Can I connect it to the antenna in the port? Someone at - it tried? Because it will not need to buy a cable SCART. And for what I searched by linking to the video in Port, if I want to record the signal, I have WinDVD record I did more.
So I was wondering if connect the VCR to the antenna port. I'll be able to find and record the VHS signal on media center?
    Thank you

I already tried on S - video In and I get black screen

More: When I connect the laptop to a TV it works only via the S-video port. When I use the D-video port it simply doesn't work. The black screen.

Of course you can do it. On this Qosmio laptop TV tuner works on the same principle as usual TV. You can watch movies on Qosmioplayer or using Media Center Edition VHS. In both cases start movie VHS and let Qosmioplayer or MCE sweep all TV channels. On one of them, you will see the picture of VHS VCR.

All that s. I tested it with Qosmioplayer and MCE too. It works without any problem. I also tested recording option. This also works. Later, I edited material recorded and created DVDs.

With short words: with Qosmio G20, you can do whatever you want. It's really good multimedia laptop.

I have Windows Vista and you may not use the answer to another answer which requires Windows 2000 or XP.

I thought to buy a video capture device to help with the process, have a VCR, have my laptop and an external DVD burner if it's useful.  While doing research I read about creating Windows DVD and thought I could use it, but with the capture device is necessary.  It will help me to improve my video transfer or do I have to use one or the other?

A few options... good luck with your project.

Personally, I think that the best way to transfer VHS to DVD is to
Use a DVD/VHS recorder, but if you want to import the images...
and do a little editing see the links below.

  • VHS to DVD via first and yet?

I have therefore 4 VHS tapes that I want to convert into 2 or 3 DVD. I currently have all of the converts and configured using the first and I am trying to export to work with them in Ecore (main menus and burn to DVD). I have a 1 h 45 m video exported to AVI format with a file size of 22.5 GB and I have another video that is about 4-5 hours that I have not exported yet.

I go about it properly? Still will be able to reduce the AVI enough for even the video of 1 hour 45 minutes of VHS to fit on a single DVD? I'll have to divide the 2nd video on two DVD? Here's the simple DVD layer, but I was curious to see how much it will compress or if I'm completely off base how I take this pass. For me, it doesn't seem like I should have problems posed by less than 2 hours on 1 DVD.

    Thank you!

What version of still and PR?

VHS is of poor quality. The conversion of VHS in everything you import to the PR is a crucial first step. Personally, I preferred a VHS to DVD machine conversion. It uses the encoding material and in some cases some cleaning of the VHS signal permit.

And the quality I used only 1 hour per DVD. (You can put in a lower quality recording and get more per disc.)

When I edited to put only the sections I wanted on secondary DVD, I used change options that do not have re - transcode sections that have not changed. This was not available in PR when I did last. Smart yet rendered not done PR for these files?

Make your way, you have to export as a MPEG2-DVD of PR and using a bitrate calculator to determine the throughput you need. Original good quality, you can get 2 hours on a DVD. But depending on what you have your VHS to digital conversion, it may not seem good enough.

  • VHS to dvd

I want to know if I can transfer vHS tapes from my VCR to my computer, then on a dvd. How will I know if I have the correct hardware?

    PCBRAND: Pavilion

    I use windows 7.

Also is there a website that I can use for free to scan my computer for problems? It seems he's running slow sometimes.

Hi, aazookeeper.  Your machine must be able to manage the VHS transfer, provided that you have the physical ability to connect the video recorder to the PC.

This process is usually broken down into two stages: 1) convert VCR/VHS from analog signal to digital (and storage on your PC) and 2) edition digitized content and burn it to a DVD.  (Note that you can burn it directly to DVD without having to edit if you wish).

The trickiest part is the analog-digital conversion.  There are many solutions of software/hardware at low cost on the market to connect your recorder to your PC.  Optionally, if you have a digital video camera, you * may * be able to connect the VCR to the camera, then the camera to the PC.   In this case, the camera serves as your digital converter box.  In both cases, search the Web for conversion in dvd pc vhs, and you should be able to find what you need.

Once the conversion is complete, you can change the content and create DVDs as want you.  I think that your PC is pre-loaded with film and utilities DVD you should be able to use for this purpose.

  • Import of video files in CS3 DVD problems

    Hello!

We have a copy of a video of service of comments I'm editing down to a condensed version used in our in-house training.

I use PP CS3 and you have saved video files off on my hard drive, but they do not matter in PP.   I have a format not supported error message.

The files are similar to those I have saved and imported with success of our business orientation DVD, with the exception of the file extensions that make their appearance on these service comments files;  where they do not have on my first project.

These new file names are: VIDEO_TS. IFO, VIDEO_TS. VOB and VIDEO_TS. BUP.

All wisdom would be appreciated!    I wonder if they are encrypted or secured, but the DVD is from 2001 and it seems unlikely.

    Thank you!

    M

    Mary,

Good luck and sorry that I was not quite clear, I should be, in which case file extensions. Thanks to your thread and the comments from Ann, I modified my article to explain file extensions 'trick' a little better.

Moreover, in accordance with this article, don't forget not that a VOB can contain more than just the MPEG-2 AV, especially the first VOB files. According to what is in this VOB 'container', and how it was written, there are still questions.

If you experience problems, please see the link to the FAQ Neil Wilkes again, the ripping. There are several other links in this article, which can be useful.

If your DVD has been created by Adobe yet, it will be 100% compatible DVD and has to import just without any problem. If made by Roxio, Nero, some other creation apps., or written from a digital video recorder, or Platinum VHS-DVD, then all bets are, as they do not write 100% compatible DVD disks, in most cases.

Once again, good luck and let us know how it goes.

  • Qosmio F10 - VHS to DVD

    Hi all

Any information on how to convert a VHS to DVD movie that can be played on a regular DVD player would save me a lot of headaches (as the conversion format, size, etc...).

It seems that I only have Windows Movie Maker installed on the F10.
    Thank you in advance.

I did it using Ulead DVD MovieFactory 5. Some users on this forum have reported creating DVDs is simply and I wanted to test it. I can really confirm that.

I recorded VHS movies with this software, and with a few clicks of any material has been prepared for DVD burning. Now I can watch all the movies on a standard DVD player.

I have the Equium A200. Someone can tell me how to save the video file to a DVD-R on my computer in order to use it later, or use it in windows movie maker and must not simply copy on another DVD-R right?

My cursor also has disappered in the suite of windows media, that makes life quite difficult.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you.

You mean, you want to copy the original DVD movie to HARD drive?
Well, you can copy the contents of the entire DVD to the HARD drive. It means that you have to copy a lot of data.
I would recommend shrinking the DVD movies using a tool called DVD shrink.
It would decrease the data and would also copy the content to the HARD drive.

But if you want to use these files later in windows movie maker, so you must convert these using a 3rd party tool.
Google a bit and you should find many free applications that would help you to do this work.

    Good bye
