View the name of the computer on the Windows 7 Desktop

The computer name can be displayed on the desktop by changing the C:\Window\System32\en-us\user32.dll.mui to display the name of the computer instead of the build # using PaintDesktopVersion. It's for Windows 7 x 64. I found the instructions of this sub Vista. I tried this edition but the build version still shows.

Hello

The computer name cannot be displayed on the desktop by using C:\Windows\System32\en-us\user32.dll.mui.

  • Remove the Windows 7 Desktop icon shadows

How can I remove the shades of the Windows 7 Desktop icon? Whenever I place the cursor on one of the icons that square shadow appears behind her.

I tried just abut everything to stop these shadows to appear.

    Thank you

The solution to remove the shadows of the desktop icon is to show the performance Options screen and remove the control of the last listed issue "use Visual styles on windows and buttons" then click on apply and then OK. This will change the global settings for Custom.

However, there are some side effects of the use of this option that removes the shadows of the icon on the desktop. It changes your taskbar to style XP Taskbar and change also a custom icon, menus, and other advanced to default appearance settings. All the settings you have previously changed must be reaccomplished.

When you open Internet Explorer, it looks great in color etc that he did with XP which is now easier to read that Win 7, I feel. Each person will have to just play with the advanced appearance settings and select the ones they like best.

So far, I'm very happy with the settings I have now and also do not have the shadow of the icon on the desktop.

  • How to view the Windows 8 store from a Web browser

I want to be able to view the Apps in the Windows store from a Web browser.  Just as you can access the store of Windows Phone in the Web browser.  When I access the URL http://www.windowsstore.com, I get a page that tell me how to develop an application, not the store itself.

    Hello Kurt Moskal,.

For now, the only way to view the apps in the App Store goes to the store in Windows 8.
You can't view via a browser session. This is normal.

The icons/folders/files on the desktop computer are sent to the LEFT SIDE of my MAIN SCREEN even if automatic reorganization is disabled.  Windows 7 to remember the position of the icons when I leave them there for a long time before restart (as if Windows running analysis of your desktop) but will forget if I move icons and restart shortly after.  Worse, it is even when he remembers the position of the icons, if I open a file and then save it, it will automatically move this icon to left - VERY BORING.  After looking online, it seems, that it is a bug that has been neglected and ignored by MICROSOFT.  WTF?  ALL THE 'DECENT' SOLUTIONS OUT THERE?

  • Cannot find the Windows 7 Desktop in VMWare Fusion

    Hi all

I installed VMWare Fusion on my mac.  Works very well.  However, I can't find my windows desktop.  The only thing I can find is Internet Explorer.  I know when I installed it, I clicked on something after the small bar at the top of the screen, but I can't remember what.  Now, in VMWare fusion window, under Windows7, it shows only a gray screen with an icon of recycle bin on it.

    Any thoughts?

Looks like you spent at the sight of the unit.

Just move your mouse up to the center of the screen and should display the VMware Menu and then click on the view menu and select full screen or single window or you can open the menu either VMware Fusion application on OS X, Windows applications menu bar or Dock VMware Fusion tile with a ctrl-click.

  • Prevent expansion of window full screen on the Windows 7 Desktop?

    1. When I move a window to the left or right on the desktop, Windows 7, often it develops in full screen.  I find this very annoying.  How do I stop/disable Windows 7 to automatically expand the window?

    Hello

This function is called Aero Snap.

When you drag a window, you can break it down to the top of the screen to enlarge the window, or share and on the other, fill half of the screen of the window.

The action that "snaps" of the window and the edge of the screen when the mouse cursor reaches the last row of Pixels on the edge of the screen.

    You can disable this feature.

Open Control Panel / accessibility / make the mouse easier to use.

At the bottom of the window, place a check in the option prevent windows from being automatically arranged when moved to the edge of the screen .

    Apply / OK.

    Kind regards.

If you use a router, then who will be the IP settings, then you can ignore these entries in the guide.

If you have a WiFi network, then the parameters described as being for the network card apply to the WiFi card instead.

The settings for sharing, the problem you are experiencing, apply any number of PC of on the network.
