When I try to turn some of my virtual machines now use the VSAN, vCenter present with the following error, even if the data store is online and running virtual machine workload.   My next step was going to try to restart the hosts, but I wanted to see if anyone else experienced this or if there was a method to establish the first case before nuking the question, since, if it were production would take us actually a failure. All virtual machines running on the vsanDatastore are fine and all the capabilities of storage and tickboxes are green in the web client. I wonder if there may be a memory leak or something else.   We have 2 Dell poweredge 2950 host running vpshere 4.0 and we have virtualized internal storage of these Dell using P4000 VSA happening as a virtual machine on each host. Our virual servers use this storage.

  Recently, we introduced NetApp FAS2020 on our network and we move all the virtual servers for the netapp.

  My question is "what is the best way to remove theP4000 VSA Vsphere? (I don't want leave no trace). We don't have support with HP and could not find much information on the web.

  These are just virtual machines that use the local VMFS storage on servers, so to get rid of them first to power them off.  Then right-click on them and choose "Delete from Disk.  This will permanently delete.

  2 ESXi hosts run a small amount of virtual machines that are all in the same domain.  I want to have a file server (or a repository somewhere) that houses a folder with easily accessible software (OS, Office, etc.) on the field.

  According to me, that if I made a virtual machine with a large hard drive and share the software, this would not be the best way because it would be dependent on the OS.  Someone has talked about doing a separte VMDK for it and then install it on the operating system on the virtual machine. This way I could always remove the and mount it somewhere else.

  It seems a bit weird to me that the software within this "shared folder" will also be sitting on the data store (if I create a virtual machine and need to use the OS/etc).  Not that doubles the space for the same software (in the comments, then the data store)?

(eg. 3 VMs in 1 data store or 3 data warehouses and each virtual machine in one of them). I can only think about the ease of management for storage administrator because it creates only a single large LUN.
