Virus of blackBerry Smartphones? Something weird?

Several times a day my curve - all on its own - starts with the icon of the hourglass turns around and around, when he sits idle.  This prevents me from using one of its functions until it stops, and sometimes quite simply it does not stop until I have the battery and restart.

Very frustrating.

I don't have this long, and it gets worse.  What began as something that has happened from time to time it happens now maybe 5 or 6 times a day.

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

This looks like a common memory leak... features apps hurt, don't return not resources when they are closed and indeed do not close properly. The restart of batt-pop (performed exactly as described below) is the best:

With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. Some take to do so regularly...and/or running every night (for example) the app QuickPull free.

Also, be sure to close all applications when you're done with them - previous key or the Red make key. Only by clicking on the BBKey and select close or exit the fact. All the apps left running will consume resources, which eventually deteriorate (at a variable rate based on usage).

Basically - it is a computer and needs a reboot from time to time to keep things smooth.

Best!

You have to, to get the push RIM email functions you are looking for, as well as services of BlackBerry data such as the Web browser, Facebook for BlackBerry, BlackBerry Messenger and much more.

Then call your carrier and you learn about to have added to your account BlackBerry data Plan.

    Good luck.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones something happening to my text messages.

Hello.  I'm new here and this is my first post.

Last week, I receive text messages that disappear before I had the chance to read.  In addition, people have told me they sent me text messages, but I never.  I sent text messages to myself from another phone just to confirm that I am receiving them and that they are removed until I get to read.  Even when I delete everything in my Inbox, I still have the same problem.  My phone also receive emails and SMS.

    Any advice greatly appreciated.

    J

You are facing constraints of memory in your device. Perform the following steps-

    1. Give a soft reset by removing the battery for 30 sec.
    2. Check the amount of memory is free in your device to Options -> status -> free memory. To view all aspects of database go to Option -> status -> click on the Menu button and then select the database size
    3. Remove the less frequently used application. To remove go to Options -> Advanced Options -> Applications -> highlight the application you want to delete-> click Menu , and then select Remove
    4. If you stored your image in the memory of the device to move them to your media card

    Check the below knowledge base-

Call logs and SMS disappear when the BlackBerry smartphone is low on memory

E-mail messages are removed from the BlackBerry device

  • Virus of blackBerry Smartphones? on my Pearl 8100

Hi please can someone help me with my Blackberry Pearl 8100?  I have what appears to be a virus on my facebook app.  I get an image which at the beginning was this Asian guy but here is a picture of two chairs with the title "the pressure of atlantic city" this photo to swaps with friends profile pictures and when she does fills all the part where they typed their up-to-date status and squeeze all the text on the side.  I tried to find information about it on the internet but I can not find any information at all.  Does anyone know how to remove it please it is very very annoying.  This single happes on my Blackerry not on Facebook on my laptop.

    Thank you

    Claire

lol, no I am not being hostile, I try only to determine what you do see this photo, because I am sure you will understand that I'm not looking for to your 8100 and can go information you present here. Right? So the more detailed information is, the more help you will receive.

OK, so let's get that. So (yet again, I'm guessing here) you open the Facebook application, and this strange picture appears, then another? You click on status of Facebook to a friend, or the tab pictures or something like that?

Two things, I recommend you first... In the Facebook application, click your Menu button > close the session. You want to completely log of the Facebook app. Then, with your Pearl power, remove the battery for a minute, reinsert and allow it to restart. After the reboot, give it 3-4 minutes to complete all activity data, then click on Facebook to open it and enter your login/password Facebook (if you do not get the login screen, then you have not disconnect properly as I indicated just on top).

Second... upgrade your Facebook account to the latest version available. Using your BlackBerry browser, go to www.blackberry.com/facebook and don't choose the AppWorld install option, but simply to download Facebook directly. Follow the instructions. Or post here if you need assistance doing.

I ALWAYS recommend FIRST, back up your BlackBerry using the BlackBerry Desktop software.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones has weird icon in the notification area.

    Hello friends,

I own a Blackberry 9300, and recently I had this weird looking icon in my notification area. It looks like a kind of Sundial (the replacement of the clock we used when we had no clocks) with a red star and 1 written before him. Tried all applications, message, etc. etc., but nothing works.

I would upload the photo (I have chewed the screen using an application), it were not to my knowledge of how to download images on forums.

If anyone has the idea while on it, please help!

    Thank you.

Try this, too... scroll to the top of your message list.

Your message, not your specific e-mail folder list.

Press the menu key > mark read beforehand.

    He disappears?

If this is not the case, go back to ALL your applications. Somewhere, there's an alert.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones something strange on my home screen

HI - can anyone help identify an alert icon that has appeard in the top of my screen?

Its right at the top, next to the yellow envelope icon indicating incoming e-mail.

Its a small black circie with what looks like a white arrow pointing left towards diagonlly.  It also has a small red star against which gives me to think that I have something 'entrants' but I can't work what he.

    Anyone got any ideas?

    Thank you

    Julian

Julian, Hello and welcome to the Forums of Support BlackBerry.com.

The notification indicates you have an App World application > my word, which is ready for an upgrade. Look there for the upgrade.

To clear the notification on the screen, find the alert message in your main folder, read or delete it.

It is not necessary and I had that confirmed by my company, because there is no virus attacking BB.

I'm intrigued as to the need to use the BB as a modem for your PC. I see the advantage of using it as a modem for a laptop.

  • Phone of blackBerry Smartphones does weird things.

My black Berry Pearl made some strage things, I really need some help here.

My phone continued to go to vibrate when I put it for something else, he keeps clear my call log, sometimes, it sounds, when I send a text message the other person isn't always bring and sometimes it won't let me play my music (including the song of the sample).  I find that I have to turn off and on the device for the music to work.

The page support to say that phones does Delete call logs. Finally, unless the phones has little memory.  I checked for memory low "requirements" and found that my phone has normally more than enough.

I checked for the issue of the music and all I could find were the question format, all my songs are in the correct format.

Also, with the vibration thing, page indicates a shortcut to change the vibration from the default setting is to click on the button "#", but in this case the keys withoutme.  In addition, I don't have the function do not disturb is enabled.

I can't find an answer to my problem of text message.

We try that, but it did not work.  We even took to the store; the man he did a reset.  However, it started again shortly after our departure.

I just got back and I now have a new phone.  The people in the store could not diagnose the problem.  Thanks in any case.

  • Virus of blackBerry Smartphones

Hello, I am in the Netherlands. Can you help me before I buy a new phone? My problem was: the 'e' on my BB 8520 curve caracter didn't work. I tried to reset and update the bb and after about a week, it worked all of a sudden, for about a week. but now, my roll no longer works. our store has tried to build in another manuscript, but I told them I thougt it was a software problem. the new scrolling did not work either, so finally they put in the new software. scroll doesn't always work. they say that there is a virus in the motherboard. have you ever heard this and if yes, what can I do about it. I apologize for my worse English.  Please contact me by e-mail (info personal removed) @msn.com

Don't know what they are smoking, but it must be good!  Anyway, they need to exchange your phone.  It has a hardware problem, simple as that.  Could be a short circuit somewhere, but this isn't a virus.  Your English is very good.

Contact your carrier... they control all of this, and only they can look 'behind the scenes' to their systems to tell you why your BB does not receive the services for which you are paying.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones got a virus on my Bold 9700 Windows, can't delete it, file system error 3

I used the SD card in my BlackBerry as a way to print some documents. Of course, internet cafes are full of virus of children all this porn downloaded.

Then, I got a file autorun.inf with all its contents. My problem now is that I can not remove the file from the main virus. Whenever I try to remove it, an error occurs.

This is the file system error 3, from net.rim.device.api.io.file.FileIOException

Can I do to remove this thing? I tried the native and Rock File Manager, FileScout Lite file manager, but nothing works

    Raestloz wrote:
The problem is, it's a Windows virus. Connection to a PC could very well spell trouble. This is the reason why I try to remove the em with my BlackBerry.

There is no setting in the BB OS change on a file write protection. Therefore, you cannot do it with the BB... If you are not ready to connect it to any PC (maybe even the Internet infected PC coffee it?), then format the card with the BB command is your next step. Maybe you can remove the BB and using a card reader on a PC instead of mass storage Mode?

    Raestloz wrote:

In any case, can someone tell me what exactly the error means? It seems pretty obvious with FileScout Lite error message, but it would be nice if I can get a confirmation

The error is indeed explicit... somehow, this received file write protection on it the BB OS recognizes exactly as he said. How it happened? It would be a totally different matter of course... as well, since everyone here is volunteer 'out there', the other user nothing here you receive can be considered as authoritative beyond your level of confidence what information you receive.

  • BlackBerry smartphone how to protect my device? viruses?

    Hello
Y at - it app for protect my BB from viruses? Or is it already in my device?

I want to know how to please

There is no virus for BlackBerry, so you don't have to worry about antivirus. That said, some applications that can be downloaded online can be considered to be malware, so just look at what applications that you install on your phone and you need to be secured. Basically, if you don't trust her, not you install it.

    I hope that info helps!
