  • Mac works oddly, possible virus problem

Now, this might be a bit long, but I want to explain my situation: my Mac version is 10.6.8 and I have Windows Bootcamp that divides my 500 gbs equally between the two parties. I use only 20,99 gbs on the side of my Mac and I have only a few applications I've downloaded myself (Chrome, two games (OFF and Minecraft which has a few mods), the Unarchiver and Adobe programs such as Photoshop and Flash). However, I have more (I removed) Safari and Garage Band. The reason why I deleted the Safari is because it does not block the dangerous ads. It is an ad ' Web Cam S *' that I met on a fake Wikipedia who made fun of Youtubers (forget the name of it and never come back to it) which forced me close my Mac because it will turn off and an announcement on YouTube who wanted to use 5 mbs of my data (I stopped my Mac new cause he kept asking when I was denied several times). I can't remember anything for download, but I don't know how to work the virus. This return all happened in August 2015, but since December 2015, my Mac fan started running loudly when he wakes fashion 'sleep' with any of the applications that are running. My Mac also gets is more cool as it allows when it is in "standby". I don't know if it's advertising or there is something wrong with my Mac internally (son, dusty in bulk). Six years ago, but it still load the Web pages and applications as it allows before the ads. Thanks for this reading, I was not able to find an answer that has cured my problems. PS: I don't want to download apps 'useful '.

I understand how you feel when you say that you do not want to download useful applications.   I'm guessing that is probably based on the experience gained.   However, there is an application that we use here and is generally well regarded by members.   Please download and run and publish the results as a response here.

  • In XP Trojan horse Virus problems

Two weeks ago, my computer became infected with a trojan virus.  I started having problems with hidden files to become and then has to connect to my AT & T Yahoo email account.  A tech AT & T ran a sort of diary on my computer and said that the problem was a Trojan horse.  I then reinstalled my OS (XP SP3) but soon had the same problem with the files become hidden.  These have been discovered when I ran my Avira anti-virus free progr.  Since then, I have probably reinstalled my OS 4 times more and almost immediately to have the same problem with hidden files.  When you run Avira, I would get the following error message: "one or more hidden objects that indicate a hidden virus or unwanted program found."  Because of this message, Avira would never execute the search.

In addition to Avira, I also run Windows Defender, Malware Anti-Malware and Super Anti-Virus Free Edition.  I usually run 2 of these programs every day.  When I reinstall my operating system, I always install the same software (most who are on an external hard drive) I have always used.  File types that are hidden are: Application Data models, send to, the local settings and Config.Msi.  Yesterday, I tried to show all the files I could find (this time there were about 12), but when I ran Avira I got the same error message indicating that there is more hidden files.

Read the other questions previously posted and answered about a trojan virus infect a XP system, I uninstalled Avira and installed Windows Security Essentials.  However, no threats were detected during a scan.  I also downloaded Vipre Internet Security and just now completed a deep analysis, even when no threats were detected.

I have to admit that I'm a little computer illiterate, but is there anything else I could try to fix this other than to reinstall my operating system once more?  Is there a log I could run to determine what program this is what keeps infecting my computer?  Also, should I break down and buy an anti-virus program rather than use a free?

    Help! Help! Help!
    Steven

A big thank you to all who gave advice.  Before I got your answers, I decided to reinstall my operating system once more as I have had problems with a program that ran for many years.  Patience isn't one of my virtues.  After reinstalling all my programs, I ran Avira and again received the following error message: "one or more hidden objects that indicate a hidden virus or unwanted program found."

Daavee mentioned in his reply that the file types, I mentioned in my original question are supposed to be hidden.  However, I wonder why Avira thinks that these hidden files are potential viruses.  Also, since I have never hidden their in the first place, how they became hidden?  I always show everybody I find, but somehow they always becomes hidden again.  What causes this?

I took the advice of AndreasAnaya and uninstalled all my programs except Defender antivirus and installed Avast.  The anti-spyware and anti-malware the same as antivirus?  I do not, but uninstalled Super Anti-Spyware and Malware Anti-Malware as Avira before installing Avast.

I just ran Avast and no virus was found.  However, he found two errors; "Has reached the end of the file."  I don't know what that means.  I tried to remove chest as instructed by Andreas but when I clicked on the chest, nothing was there.

If all goes well, by deleting my previous operating system before installing it again (as indicated by Andreas), a virus has been removed.  Once again, thank you for all the advice!  I hope that all my problems were solved!

    Hi chrisinOhio,

-What happens when you try to access the Internet? You get an error message or error code? If Yes, indicate the same.

As a first step, I recommend you scan your computer to get rid of this virus.

Try to start in Safe Mode with networkand then run an analysis online for your computer. Visit the following links for the same:

    http://OneCare.live.com/site/en-us/Center/whatsnew.htm

    Microsoft Security Essentials

Once you scan your computer, check whether the issues you mentioned is fixed.

Try running the Fixit tool from the below mentioned link and see if this is useful in fixing the issue for CD/DVD.

  • System Restore does not work completely. Virus problem?

When the System Restore dialog box asks me when I want to restore from I can not pass separating two to another. The instructions are to click on a date "BOLD", but most of the dates are "BOLD", (b) none of them are clickable outside today and (c) the back arrows for the previous month, while only clickable, do nothing.

I think I have a virus or somesuch and wants to do a restore. Maybe the virus of going to stop.

    WXP SP3 Prof

Viruses often attack the system restore because it's such a threat to them - which is certainly possible.  Unfortunately, all my anti-virus, anti-malware and anti-spyware solutions are for Vista (which is the Forum, you are in).  You must post this question in the appropriate forum where they have the information, procedures and links to help you.

One thing, if the system restore does not work in normal mode, it sometimes will run in Mode safe then start safe mode and try it.

In addition, if you use any Norton product, turn it off, then restart and try to restore again - Norton is known to cause problems with system restore.

Sometimes, the problem can be solved by turning the restoration of the system off and then back on.  Unfortunately, a side effect of this is to lose all your restore points you want to restore this may not be such a good option to try (even if it can correct the underlying problem): http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310405/en-us.

If none of the above works, please repost your question on the Forums of XP to: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/category/windowsxp where the XP experts will be happy to help you.

    Good luck!

  • Computer stops when the power to the computer to sleep, on computer virus problem

    Hello

When I put my pc sleep and wake him up, a window pops up saying that the machine has stopped unexpectedly, and then the pc automatically reboots by itself,.

after reboot, a window box comes in saying that the pc rebooted one... and that Windows will inform me what to do.  What happened yesterday and today.

I must say however that Friday evening, August 24, my pc was slow work, since a few days I noticed, but Friday it was slower, I could see that something

moving in often via the little blue wheel icon that shows that something is happening.

I "had" McAfee Total Protection in my machine since 08/05/2012 and last night I clicked on the McAfee to do a full Scan of my pc, because I thought there was something fishy in it.  McAfee Full Scan clicked, a blue page with white letters arrived, quick and deep that I saw Dump numbers going up to 100, then the blue screen came out and restarted my PC.  After reboot a small box of Windows came to say that the machine had stop unexpectedly, he

has run a control bar, when in fact something like 'your stop machine unexpectedly and windows will inform you what to do', something like that.  I then

new click the McAfee icon, click the full sweep, the same thing happens again anywhere.

Then, I went to the website of McAfee and talkative with Technical Support, he came into my pc to see for himself, he opened the Navigation button and had IP

address to which McAfee was 'downtime '.  He told me I had a virus in my computer... He gave me a phone # to call for assistance in the removal of the virus. I called, the man

did not come into my PC to see, he said, I had to pay $89. something taken him. I closed with him, went with the customer, aksed for my refund...

sad situation, but I withdrew my PC with McAfee.

I've downloaded Malwarebytes, checked my PC had 2 Trojan horses, you click on Remove to remove the.  Still had Malwarebytes in pc, I went to Trend Micro, which I had before in my pc for years and renewed my Sub. with them and has installed. After doing a full Scan, no virus.

I made a 'machine checking if' work properly AM early this morning.

This afternoon, August 25. I opened my pc, the audit began, time + after pc restarted normally, then all of a sudden the blue window came with white letters, dump numbers went up to 100 then pc rebooted, Windows little box came "... unexpected" and normal ran pc after.  Worked a bit on the pc then place to sleep so I could go somewhere, when I clicked on the mouse to wake up, as I always do in the pc, it awakened, blue page with while that the lettering came, took place on the same things as above.  PC ran good, had to go eat, put the pc to sleep, came back same thing occurred again

I searched what happens and found nothing.  I went to the community, there nothing either.  So I'm here today to help hoping that you know what is happening.

Thank you for your time and your help.

    Hello

Currently, you have a program full-time antivirus installed on the computer?

If you do not have one, I suggest you to install Microsoft Security Essentials.  Follow this link to download.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/products/security-essentials

    Follow these methods.

Method 1: Run a Scanner online from Microsoft.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx
Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.
The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

Method 2: To remove the virus manually, see the article:

How to remove a computer virus?
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/how-do-I-remove-a-computer-virus

Important: The Troubleshooting Manual in the link above steps show you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/back-up-the-registry

  • The browser safari in my macbook pro keeps popping up ads in new tabs saying my mac is infected with the virus and requires immediate cleaning. Is there really a virus problem? The ads are recurring.

Browser Safari keeps popping up ads in a new tab by saying that my mac is infected with the virus, the advertising comes back repeatedly.

N ° any message in a web browser saying that a Mac OS X system has a virus or other software malware is a scam; some sites Web legitimately analyzes the files uploaded to them, but is unable to scan the entire system.

Even on Windows, unless you manually ran a scan of malware in your web browser, the same applies.
