visited links stay blue

I've seen other people with this problem, but the solutions have not helped. The story is 9999 days and I can see the pages of history. I do not use private browsing. I'm not compensation history. I used the Safe Mode - the same thing. I have uninstalled Firefox (but kept the preferences), same thing. Do I need to uninstall including preferences? Help!

You can watch these prefs the subject: config page.
http://KB.mozillazine.org/browser.history_expire_days (180) (also affects saved form data)
http://KB.mozillazine.org/browser.history_expire_days_min (90)

To open the topic: config page, type Subject: config in the address bar (address) and press the Enter key, as you type the url of a Web site to open a Web site.
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access this page.

    I visit a bulletin board (http://www.bogleheads.org/index.htm) which shows wire links that I recently visited in a purple apotheosis (vs blue, not visited links). Normally, these links remain purple until someone posts another response to this thread, and then it will change back to blue link (when the list page is refreshed or I revisit). But what is happening is more - links just stay "purple", even if the new positions will these threads over time and I have not revisited them again. Any clue?

    Yes, I looked at the page source and see only the links with the ID of a forum and a number of topic and possibly a starting incrementing in 50 value.

  • How to completely replace my links turning blue in all cases?

    Hello

    I'm sure this topic has been covered by a million times, but I did a search and can't really find an answer to my problem.

    I want to completely replace DW turning my blue links and pointing out their.

    BUT I don't want to set a final color for the links to be.

    I mean DW to just leave them alone and let me re-branded, a color and a style with a separate css.

    All the solutions, I can see using the ' a: link a: visited a: hover one: active' allows you to set a color which then replaces my other styles still require.

    This example...

    "menu_basic" is the style I want the > cv < appear in and the link is on my cv page "... / cv_p1.html".

    <span class="menu_basic"><a href="../cv_p1.html">cv</a></span></div>

    This is my css menu_basic style...

    .menu_basic {
              font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;
              font-size: 0.9em;
              line-height: 1.5em;
              color: #666666;
              font-weight: normal;
    }

    and these are the css styles, I put in place to try to substitute, that I found on this forum

    }
    a:link {
              text-decoration: none;
    }
    a:visited {
              text-decoration: none;
    }
    a:hover {
              text-decoration: none;
    }
    a:active {
              text-decoration: none;
    }

    But my link is blue!
    The underlining disappears so I'm halfway there but it is still blue.

    I know that my selector is correct because if I actually assign a color to the ' a: link ' style css, it works.

    BUT I don't want to assign a color I just want to leave the color completely alone!

    You can ask why don't I just think I give just the color #666666?
    But that would mean that the links are blocked on this color.

    Considering that there are times, I want them to be of different colors.

    Surely, there must be a way to tell just DW to leave completely alone?

    Need help please, I'm pulling my hair out here!

    Thank you

    Dan

    p.s. I am very new to this Yes, you can keep simple to understand explanations!

    You can ask why don't I just think I give just the color #666666?

    But that would mean that the links are blocked on this color.

    No, it wouldn't mean that.  It would be only average links selected by your rule selector would be this color.  It is common to have multiple link rules, for example,

    a {color: red ;}}

    #nav a {color: green ;}}

    #content {color: Heliotrope ;}}

    #footer a {color: polka-dot ;}}

    etc.

  • Why DW does change my links to blue even when I change with CSS?

    I'm having a problem with DW doing my weird colors links: sometimes blue, sometimes the same color as the rest of the text. As you can see in the attached screenshots, in DW links are appropriate color (#999966), but in Chrome two links are correct but one is blue! I opened the file in Firefox, and all three were blue.

    Any ideas? I'm not much for coding, I use mainly CSS Editor integrated in DW.

    Thank you

  • strange behavior of color of visited links

    Hello

    Navigation on my web site, visited links are PURPLE, while in Dreamweaver CS3, Page Properties, I is not this color for visited links.

    What could be wrong here?

    Thank you

    Rob

    The best way to get an answer is to post a link to the Web site.

    Can provide you one?

    As a guess:

    The links have five 'States '.

    (blue link by default in most browsers)

    visited (purple by default in most browsers)

    hover

    assets

    Update

    If no rules are defined for one or more of the States then the browsers default color applies.

    I'm guessing that you have set a CSS rule for a: link, but nothing for a: visited.

  • Possibility to change the color of visited links

    Hello. Y at - it an option on the occasion of visited links a different color on the Android version? On PC, I can do this via Firefox option or modules. But I can't find this option on Android.

    Thank you
    Tom

    There a preference for the color of the link visited that you can change by using about: config, but on websites that have their own colors, it will have no effect in itself. Here are the steps:

    Part i: the hexadecimal code

    If you want to use the same color as your desktop version of Firefox, you can find here in this way:

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the search above the list box, type or paste to visit and make a break while the list is filtered

    (3) take note of the value of the browser.visited_color preference that should be a sign # follow-up of six characters in the range of 0-9, A - F

    Part II: Change your setting on Android

    (1) open a new tab to Subject: config (type about: config the Awesomebar and hit the arrow go or tap Enter).

    You can bookmark it for easy future access.

    (2) in the search box, type visit and make a pause while Firefox filter list

    3 scroll to browser.visited_color and touch the preference, then tap next to the end of the existing value and edit a new, then type away from control to save.

    If you switch to your other tab and test on a site that is not substitute colors, you should see the change.

    Success?

    I recently did a 'refresh' (?) on Firefox and my visited links are is more changing color. I went to the Options - content - fonts & colors - colors... and the link colors option seems correct, but when I click a link it changes color to indicate that it is visited.

    Make sure that you are not Firefox running in permanent private browsing mode (don't remember history).

    • Tools > Options > privacy > Firefox will be: "use the custom settings for history".
    • : Uncheck the [] "always use the private browsing mode.

    You can also check the layout.css.visited_links_enabled pref on the topic: config page and make sure that it has the default value.

  • Hi, my places.sqlite file size is 30 720 KB I reached the maximum size, is there a maximum size for this. Visited links are is more changing color.

    Hello
    My places.sqlite file size is 30 720 KB I reached the maximum size, is there a maximum size for this.
    Suddenly the visited links don't change is no longer the font color, that I prepare for an exam, I need visited issues to change color, to follow up on issues that I ended. But if I delete a few days of history, then again once, most visited links change color and then it stops, it seems that something is getting full and not able to accommodate more? Why my visited links don't change color after a number of visits? I would like to make a back up of the file places.sqlite. So I tried everything to remove the profile, uninstalling reinstalling, creating a new profile, and then copy paste places.sqlite etc, but as mentioned after a few visits, visited links is no longer change color, if I delete a few days in history and then a few visits is again change color and then stop again, so what should I increase so that my quota of visited links is increased , I also tried tweaking about: config and there has been no result. Although I was not really convinced that _pages growing brower.history_max (don't remember the name, but I'm sure you get the idea) will help.
    Seems that while my visited links change color, quota is met and only if I delete the history of a few days will I get some links most visited to change color. Can someone enlighten us? As mentioned that my places.sqlite file size is 30 720 KB so I think maybe this has something to do with it? Would be very grateful if someone could help me. Thank you.

    Sorry it is not looking good.

    1. Unlike bookmarks history is not saved in Firefox.
    2. There is a possibility using Windows.
    3. Sync is not expected to back up things until the synchronization server
    4. If places.sqlite does not sort itself you may have to re-create remove it. You will lose your history, but can still access indirectly IF you have saved a copy of the appropriate
    5. Different databases to try to create new profiles
    1. History
      is rather less robust than bookmarks, you should deliberately somehow return it upward, but it's too late now
    2. Earlier versions of Windows
      This is really the last chance. Make sure you have some places.sqlite you saved. Always before and after any attempt to restore the backup. Windows must be able to provide a previous version. One of these versions may be usable as is; or can be used after a repair with housekeeping. Of course, this is not the latest version but it should help.
    3. Sync is not a server backup service.
      Sync is intended to save on another device, no backup is the fact that the second device then contains synchronized information. IIRC Sync development ceased, and the replacement when available may include a server backup option.
    4. Recreate the database of bookmarks (including history)
      Unfortunately, recess can only use saved bookmarks, there is no saved history to use. Once the database is re-created, it will continue to store the history but it loses the existing history. This time take steps to save on a regular basis.
    5. Use the new profiles for database testing.

    To simplify comparison of the results of the database different files create one or more new additional profiles. Then try to smash the places.sqlite file into the test profile with any other places.sqlite, you want to try. Allows you to directly compare the databases, without seeking to use sync and without changing the Firefox profile work unnecessarily. You can keep a reference profile of studies with the best of the profiles of any shows results of history; According to the best recreated or corrupted database is.
    • Use the Profile Manager to create and delete profiles Firefox
    • CARE, do not rename or delete profiles created once or use anything other than empty folders when they are created. Don't nest in the other profiles. (At least until you know exactly how it behaves - post back if you never consider such actions)

  • I don't want visited links to be highlighted blue

    original title: Urgent, necessary info for the essay

    I make a list of references to an essay.  Reference lists often end with a web address that is highlighted in blue, as a link.  First of all, I have the following reference info need not be highlighted, but the continuous blue color on the next line even after I pressed on enter to go to the next line.  The document has suspended the indentations.

    Secondly, my printer is not printing light blue color.  I can do something to get them out of the dark.  My teacher does not have the link for the print version.  She would type it to herself.

    Thank you very much

    Tonya * hm

    If you type in word, for example, to get rid of a blue underscore and not make a hyperlink, right-click, and select Remove Hyperlink.

    For the printer, your color cartridge could be run out of color, or wear some residual stuff on it. Try taking the cartridge out and clean the printing end where the ink comes out with a paper towel.

    Hello

    Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most of the modules.

    (If you use it, switch to the default theme).

    • You can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • Or open the Help menu and click on the restart with the disabled... modules menu item while Firefox is running.

    Once you get the pop-up, simply select "" boot mode safe. "

    If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one. To do this, please follow article Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems .

    To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

    When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. It might help others who have the same problem.

  • Anchors and visited links

    I suspect its to do with the "#" when there is a # on his own that seems to be the behavior of links (by default?). I have no specific CSS for these links.

    I think I found a solution now. As suspects, I had some faulty css.

  • Visited link appears in the default form

    I am creating a website and by using the css for my appearance of link in the side navigation bar. (This is not a spry menu, BTW). However, when I view my site in IE or Firefox, the 'live' links (these links that actually have a page to go to, rather than the link of a model "#") appear in the 'visited' version, rather than the correct version is not-yet-clicking.

    I also have a problem in Firefox; When I click on one of my links, ALL links from nav side move on to the "visited" aspect

    How can I fix it?

    DinahD published in macromedia.dreamweaver:

    > Update: clear history and cache of IE seemed to help
    > with IE.
    >
    > When I tried the same thing in Firefox, the problems

    The code from a previous post:

    This is because as a link to "#" means that you establish a link to this page which
    a, of course, been visited by simply loading.

    Unrelated, but you can use an ID once per page. You should
    probably change your ID button to a class.
