Vista bus. SP2 - Services.msc

Just curious...

Why do I need to:
Microsoft .NET Framework NGEN v2.0.50727_X86,
If I also have Microsoft .NET Framework NGEN v4.0.30319_X86?

Why do I need to:
Windows Presentation Foundation are Cache 3.0.0.0 activated,
If I also have Windows Presentation Foundation 4.0.0.0 police Cache?

And is it true that if I disable Windows search indexing, my system will go faster?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
Angi

Angi http://absolutelyangi.com

v2.0.50727 is .net 2.0 and .net 4.0 v4.0.30319. You need these two services running. They optimize .net Dlls.

Police cache Windows Presentation Foundation 3.0.0.0 is part of .net 3.0 and Windows Presentation Foundation 4.0.0.0 police Cache is part of .net 4.0. They are used for WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation) applications.

No, disabling Windows search indexing does not have the PC faster. The Windows search indexing service is running with a low priority of e/s and does not affect other processes.

  • Bluetooth doesn't work does not correctly after the installation of Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2 (SP2) on Dell laptop

I searched this forum and almost all resources on the net for days now nothing works.  Give the message to a thread more appropriate that I couldn't find one that is truly representative and am a newb at this.

Summary of the problem: Bluetooth connectivity does not work properly after the window Vista Home Premium Service Pack 1 and 2 installation (SP 1 and 2).

    My system:

Laptop Dell Inspiron E1705, 32-bit Winows Vista Home Premium SP2, Dell Wireless Bluetooth 355 Module + EDR 2.0

    * My system was purchased in 2006 with Windows XP, but was not entitled to a free Windows Vista Home Premium Upgrade I did. I installed Windows Service Pack 1 and 2 about a week ago.

Problem: After downloading and installing the Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 1 and 2 (SP 1 and 2), my system does not recognize my Bluetooth (a touch of Sprint also) device known as the HTC Vogue.  I stress that I have not had any problems with this device before downloads.  I can't revert to the pre - SP State 1 and 2 because my system restore does not have these points more.

I have read several posts on various sites about people having similar problems with Bluetooth connectivity after the Vista SP 1 and 2 facilities.  The problem is obviously the need for an updated driver.  I went to the site to download driver Dell and the Blueooth only updates available are the following. (Note: these drivers all date from 2006 and 2007).

    http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&cs=RC956904&l=en&s=pub&SystemID=INS_PNT_P4_9400&os=WLH&osl=en&servicetag=&catid=-1&impid=-1&deviceid=12084&libid=5&typeid=-1&dateid=-1&formatid=-1&source=-1&releaseid=R159805&formatcnt=1&vercnt=1

I had these installed before the SP 1 and 2 have been installed and they worked very well. After the upgrade, these drivers do not work.  They won't recognise BT devices.  I tried to upgrade the drivers by using update Broadcom suggested below it, but an error of following installation to contact Dell.

    http://www.Broadcom.com/support/Bluetooth/update.php

I contacted Dell via e-mail and on the phone, but they want to charge me $60 for a one time service call just to talk about the problem because my warranty has expired. Provide updated drivers is not a problem of security in my opinion.  Even after explaining the situation, their continuous support to just send me the link to download Driver Dell above with out-of-date drivers.  I guess that's what they are charged to do, they do not have to admit a problem of compatibility.  This obviously the same link they would charge $60 to send.  I explained that I need just a Bluetooth Driver from Dell to at least version 6.3.   Needless to say, I will never buy another Dell product.

On my end, I tried to uninstall my current drivers and then by installing a newer driver to support Gateway (Version 6.2.1.500 for and Acer).  This allows me to install some parts of this update and the update Broadcom. However, it is not a perfect installation and expires after about 90% saying "this update is not for this system" because it is the gateway not Dell to be provided.  Displays the version of the driver on my computer is Version 6.3.5.430 after doing this, but it is not a complete installation and some features are not available.

Does anyone have experience with this issue? I would like to have a link with some bluetooth drivers generic Version 6.3 type which will allow me to use the Broadcom link to upgrade to the last version that works with Vista SP 1 and 2.

    Thank you for your help.

  • Closing Port 23, Telnet, Windows Vista, not found Service in Services.msc...

    Hello
I did some scans that indicate I open port 23 (telnet), but I could not close by the methods I've found doing research. It is not in Services.msc and I already disabled services that have something to do with remote connections, but it is always open. I don't have access to the router configuration that I stayed. Any ideas? Thank you.

    Hello

First of all, he should know that all ports which are related to the network are always open the ready for action.

Close port means that something is blocking traffic towards it.

What is the role of the firewall?

As first thing as suggested above by Lorien-, we need to check if the firewall software is blocking it.

Also, check the router Port forwarding to ensure that it is not open.

The UPnP router can open port automatically if there is an application that needs it. So, if you do not use UPnP uncheck in the router.

I'm not sure the side WAN he usually uses 8080. You can see menu WAN router and see which port is used for remote control.

Then, you can use these free applications to see which ports them are open and by what.

  • Question about the use of recovery disks Vista Bus on T500 with XP Pro downgraded

I searched to see if this has been addressed already and I don't see anything about it. I also looked through the Lenovo support site and could not find any documentation with specific information, that I'm looking. So, if all goes well, the people here will have an idea.

I have a T500 which was ordered with retired on WinXP Pro. It also came with a set of Vista Business (four discs) recovery disks. I plan to get my machine with Vista business records and down XP Pro, but I had a few questions.

    1. as it currently stands, I guess that the R & R partition that is on the HARD drive at this time restoring a WinXP Pro system if I start and get back with her. Is this correct?

    2. If I boot from the recovery disc Vista Business and use it for the recovery of the system, it creates a new partition 'Factory' R & R which would incorporate a Vista Business install?

I may be wrong on my assumptions and even after the start of the R & R partition, it is really the recovery disks that I choose to use that would dictate if I found myself with a XP or Vista Bus. System.

For what it's worth, I created a set of recovery disc R & R for the installation of WinXP Pro in case I need to revert to this version.

I hope that my question is logical and that someone out there has an answer for me.

    Thanks in advance!

    jskang, welcome to the forum,

    Yes on both counts.

Removal of all the hard drive recovery disks, create the service partition and then the system installs from the recovery with the flavor of windows partition, so that the discs are.

It was a good idea to create the XP discs.

I recently bought a new computer, when I run Windows Update there is a process called TrustedInstaller.exe, taking 100% of one of the cores for a very long time (> 20 minutes).

I have vista 64 SP2 and all updates installed (took me over 3 days to complete).

Also, when I try to install additional features of windows (for example. IIS) the same thing happens, trusteinstaller takes 100% of the base and install new features forever.

I have not installed additional software so far is very little probable that a virus or spyware is the cause. When I'm not updating the an or install features of windows, the computer running quickly and the cpu load is not high at all.

  • How read Services.msc file.

For some unknown reason, the folder serices.msc in the administration in the Control Panel tools wants to use Adobe Reader to open the file. Of course, it does not open. What program I need to change the 'Open with' dialog box to read? I have Windows Vista.

    Hi Pat,

I understand that you are unable to open services.msc and when you try to open the same, it tries to open with Adobe Reader.

Facing this problem with another program/application or tool?

This seems to be a problem with the Windows file association that went wrong. We will try to correct this. To do this, try the following.

    • Open default programs by clicking the Start button, click default programs.
    • Click on associate a type of file or Protocol with a program.
    • In the list of available file types, find .msc and click it to select it. At the top right of the screen click Change program.
    • Click Browse and navigate to C:\Windows\System32. Scroll the list of the files (not folders) and mmc, click to select it and click Open. Click Close. See if it helps.

    Hello

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup.

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

    See you soon.

  • Windows Vista Business SP2: Limited Conectivity... Help, please!

Guys, I know someone may have requested only that questions before:
I got this laptop HP compaq 6710 b with windows vista Professional SP2. I have already updated all. I tried to connect with any wifi signal and it tries to connect, but at the end he says that there is limited connectivity. At home, I have my main office with the router, two 2 laptops plus, psp2, wii and one printer all works well with my home wifi. My sister-in-law came home with his laptop (windows vista) and it worked fine. I try to go to the area of the network of windows vista and I décliqués the IPvc6 but it ididnt work at all. I tried to manually enter the ip address of my network there and created a conflcit. I really want to solve this problem. My last option will be to install windows xp professional on this laptop because it does not have this problem, but I really don't want that.
Is that someone help me please...

    Erazo...

So you try to connect, but do not get an IP address from your router?  I guess that your router provides DHCP services?

Sometimes the DHCP pool is consumed and cannot give another address. And manual address IP could be the way to go, but you know what the address pool is that you could create a conflict using an address that has been assigned to the DHCP scope.

    Example;

your router may have the physical address of 10.0.0.1

the scope of the DHCP address pool could be 10.0.0.2 by 10.0.0.50

So the manual ip addresses could start by 10.0.0.254 10.0.0.51

Another common numbering of IP address is 192.168.0.0 or 192.168.1.0

Also noted that your sister-in-law consumed one IP address and everything was fine.  (Maybe it was the last in scope?)

Try just an old plain reboot of the router, then try to reconnect with the vista PC. (this restart to reset the DHCP pool)

If you can connect to your router, do, as you can check the range of the DHCP pool.

If you find out what the scope of the DHCP pool is and cannot connect when even trying manual entry of the IP address that is not in the pool.

    Hi Chuayujie,

    1. did you of recent changes on the computer?

    2. are you able to work on your computer in normal mode after receiving the error message?

If you can boot into normal mode, you can try to perform a SFC scan and see if it helps.

You can run scanning of the file system [SFC] checker on the computer that will replace missing or corrupt files & check if the problem persists.
