Windows Vista Business SP2: Limited Conectivity... Help, please!

Guys, I know someone may have requested only that questions before:
I got this laptop HP compaq 6710 b with windows vista Professional SP2. I have already updated all. I tried to connect with any wifi signal and it tries to connect, but at the end he says that there is limited connectivity. At home, I have my main office with the router, two 2 laptops plus, psp2, wii and one printer all works well with my home wifi. My sister-in-law came home with his laptop (windows vista) and it worked fine. I try to go to the area of the network of windows vista and I décliqués the IPvc6 but it ididnt work at all. I tried to manually enter the ip address of my network there and created a conflcit. I really want to solve this problem. My last option will be to install windows xp professional on this laptop because it does not have this problem, but I really don't want that.
Is that someone help me please...

Erazo...

So you try to connect, but do not get an IP address from your router?  I guess that your router provides DHCP services?

Sometimes the DHCP pool is consumed and cannot give another address. And manual address IP could be the way to go, but you know what the address pool is that you could create a conflict using an address that has been assigned to the DHCP scope.

Example;

your router may have the physical address of 10.0.0.1

the scope of the DHCP address pool could be 10.0.0.2 by 10.0.0.50

So the manual ip addresses could start by 10.0.0.254 10.0.0.51

Another common numbering of IP address is 192.168.0.0 or 192.168.1.0

Also noted that your sister-in-law consumed one IP address and everything was fine.  (Maybe it was the last in scope?)

Try just an old plain reboot of the router, then try to reconnect with the vista PC. (this restart to reset the DHCP pool)

If you can connect to your router, do, as you can check the range of the DHCP pool.

If you find out what the scope of the DHCP pool is and cannot connect when even trying manual entry of the IP address that is not in the pool.

    Hello

I made the most stupidest mistake by not creating a password reset disk.  I have one account administrator, and this is my account, I use as well.  I am currently logged in as "guest".  I tried to create a password reset disk from another computer with Vista Home Premium and tried to reset my password, but can not, as happens with an error.  Now, I know that there must be a way to get new.  I have an idea of what is my password, but I could have made a typo when I re-printing and since disconnecting and tried to reconnect to test, it didn't.  Lycky for me, I have activated the Geust account for a friend to use.  So now I'm stuck.  I need to reconnect, so I'm desperate, and re - install Windows is not an option either.  Pretty anyone can help me please.  I tried all combinations and tried to make deliberate typos to see if I can get the correct password, but not to go at all.  And the geust account limit me to access what it is, I can't install of the software, it asks me my administrator password.  Is there another way around it.  Please please help.  If there is anything I can do in Windows, there's a few other kindof thing I can do at least.  All that will be a great help.

    Thanks in advance.

    Accept the license agreement
When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows Vista click Next.

You will receive the following warning:

The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.

You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.

    Hello locness2411,

Have you checked your download folder? Also you can put where you want to save a file to the desktop as, for example. Take a look at these links: http://www.tweaklibrary.com/Software_Applications/Internet-Explorer/27/Set-default-download-path-of-Internet-Explorer/10153/ or http://www.windowsreference.com/internet-explorer/how-to-change-the-default-download-directory-for-internet-explorer/ that can help you in what you want to change. Hello

The easiest way is with a crossover cable - a special wire to connect the two systems.
You can get one at your local computer store - they are not expensive.

Also check with the site of the manufacturer of your router, because they will have in-depth details on how to
    set up the network.

    Hello

For some time I have been using a desktop computer with Windows Vista Business (32 Bit) and for a few months now Windows Live Messenger 8 kept stop without reason.  I rejected, given that it happened only once a day, I have so open again and kept using it.

Recently I installed the version 2009 (14.0.8064.206), when Microsoft announced it through Messenger itself.  Since I don't Live Messenger stops very often, sometimes it takes about half an hour after I connect, sometimes even when I'm not logged in.  The message is "Windows Live Messenger has stopped working", no code error, no file name.

I have spent at various sites and tried the following without result:

Removal of the installation, run the clean installation tool and reinstalling
Repair the installation of Live Messenger
    clear the Cache of Contacts
    Run as administrator

    Hi Mr sang,

Systems on your network are joined to a domain?
If so, they use Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) to get their updates?

If you use WSUS, you should post your question in the forums found here WSUS:
    http://social.technet.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/winserverwsus/threads

If you do not use WSUS, but your systems are on a domain, you should post your question in the forums Vista IT found here:

If the above do not apply, you find the same update white screen when you run updates under a new profile?

  • Windows Install Cleanup Tool error when you try to install it on Windows Vista Business

After a failed installation of Adobe CS 4 on my Windows Vista Business 32-bit system, I am now unable to update or uninstall anything Adobe on my PC. I had read several forums, Adobe specifically, when users suggested to install and use the Windows Installer Clean up tool.  I have successfully used this app in the past with Windows XP, but when I try to install on my Vista box cleaning tool I am immediately presented with the error:

Windows Script Host: There is no script engine for file extension ".vbs".

Does anyone know a solution for this?  I tried hunting one down a few months ago, but could not find something that solved this problem.  Or are the users of Vista GROUND just when it comes to this cleanup tool? I want desperately to remove/repair my Adobe products (which work, but cannot be updated) without the need to make a nuclear weapon and to open and lose time reloading of each piece of software, to restore the profiles of boards, etc...

    Hello NMITGuy,

You can view the following information about the error: there is no script engine for file extension ".vbs".

Original title: Vista will not create a desktop.ini

Desktop.ini file contains records personalization information.

    Method 1:

Follow these steps to display the hidden files and folders.

    a. open the Folder Options by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, appearance and personalization, and then clicking Folder Options.

    b. click on the view tab.

    c. under Advanced settings, uncheck the box hide operating system files (recommended)

    Installation - 'upgrade' means what?
Upgrade means that you can install Windows 7 simply by inserting the Windows 7 upgrade software in the DVD drive of your PC and follow the instructions on the screen. While you are not required to backup and reinstall your files, or reinstall your programs, it is a very good idea to back up your files and settings before you start any upgrade to the software. Get more information on the software updates and best practices .

Installation - what does "Custom (Clean)" Mean?
A custom (clean) installation clears the contents of the hard drive of your PC. Your files, settings, and programs will not be transferred to Windows 7. This means that to install Windows 7, you must:

    • Back up any files and settings you want to keep

    • Install Windows 7

    • Reinstall all your files

    • Reinstall all the programs you want to use.

These four steps take time, skills, techniques and Windows Easy Transfer can help. However, if you are not comfortable with this process, please consider having the installation carried out by a local service provider.
