Windows Vista Compatibility Center

First thing to do is to check its Vista compatibility at the link above, and if not to see what patches/solutions are available from its manufacturer...

http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/using-Windows-Vista-compatibility-mode/

If this is not Vista compatible, read the info on the link above.
It works for some programs, but not all.

This applies to software programs, NOT hardware drivers.

Installed the game fine, but when I play the game, it appears a problem of compatibility window telling me to look for solutions on this site. I tried 'right' by clicking on the icon of the game and go to the properties and then the compatibility, but that did not solve my problem. Does anyone know how I can fix it, or is there a download or a patch that I need. Please let me know. Thank you.

If I'm looking in the right place, I also see a patch 1.68. You may need to install the patch 1.68 before installing the patch 1.69. All you can really do is try and see if it works. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful at this time.

  • Satellite M70 with Vista - TCtrlIOHook.exe is blocked due to compatibility issues

    Hi guys,.

Hoping I can pick your brain. I have the Satellite M70 and have (I think) installed most of the new drivers for Vista... but when I boot up I get "this program is blocked to compatibility issues" blah blah blah..., then says that he has

    Toshiba utility programs
    Publisher Toshiba
    Location C:\windows\system32\TCtrlIOHook.exe

Can anyone of you tell me please
one) where I can get a driver to solve this,
    (b) stop this message that appears whenever I start

    Thank you

    Kian

    Hello

The TCtrlIOHook.exe belongs to the TOSHIBA Hotkey Utility control.
All this FN keys needs to control the software and TOSHIBA Hotkey Utility is necessary if you want to use the function of the FN keys.

    (A) If you didn t find these utility for Vista on the Toshiba page then it seems that Toshiba don't provide this software for Vista for the M70 laptops.

    (b) If you want to stop the message appearing at the beginning of the boot process, you must remove it from the OS or you will prevent loading software!
This can be done in the registry. You can remove entries from the RACE
    EntVersion entVersion\Run

  • I have Windows Vista on My Toshiba Satellite Harman/Kardon and Diablo 2 has compatibility issues

I bought diablo 2 and I installed it on my computer and now I can't play because he says that the game has compatibility issues and I have tried all the recommended solutions and I always feel the question

    Hey Joe,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community!

I understand from the description of the issue, that you have problems to play Diablo 2. I will definitely help you with this problem.

    (1) what are the troubleshooting steps you performed for this problem?

    (2) have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

    (3) do you get an error message when you play the game?

Method 1: I suggest you try to install the game Diablo-2 in Windows XP compatibility mode and check if it helps.

Make older programs in this version of Windows

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/make-older-programs-run-in-this-version-of-Windows

Method 2: If the problem persists, I suggest you to place the computer in clean boot mode and check if the problem persists.
A clean boot to check if startup item or services to third-party application is causing this issue.
You can read the following article to configure the computer to boot:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: After the troubleshooting steps, see step 3 of the link to clean boot the computer to a normal startup mode.

Nope, I'm afraid that this is going to work on. The best you can hope for is looking for patterns of compatibility, but otehrwise I don't think there is a way to run this software 7 or 8 year on Vista or Win7 / Win8 also...

I currently use windows mail but it will not integrate with my ACT database, I don't want to blow a lot of money on something that may not work, and why is it so expensive?

    Tim

You should ask that question to the Microsoft Office Outlook 2010 forum.

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Office/Forum/office_2010-Outlook?tab=unanswered

In my opinion it should not be a compatibility problem for Home and Student 2007 is not included in any case Outlook.

The last time that I have heard, it is a compatibility issue in previews of attachments between Outlook 2010 and Office 2007 applications.

In any case, experts in MS Office forums should know the answer.

  • Satellite Pro L10 and Vista compatibility

    Hi all.

Being a 3rd year computer science student I feel like I should be able to answer this myself, but since this is a laptop and not a desktop computer, I'm stumped.

I'm looking to upgrade to Windows Vista when it launches and I ran the compatibility for her Wizard and its lifting to the top a major - the graphics card. Now, I know that it is not possible to switch from a graphics card on a computer laptop because its actually on the motherboard itself, but it says that my Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller has 64 MB of memory and requires 128 mb.

So here's my question - is - a can move the memory associated / assigned to this card?

In addition, he said that it must have the support of 32 bit / pixel which once again is not my card. An update of the driver would help or should I resign myself to the fact that Windows Vista won't be compatible with my laptop.

    Bravo guys,.

    Scott

    Hello

The fact is that this card was delivered with a 64 MB shared memory graphics card.
This is a maximum value of the memory that the card can manage.
I wonder every day on the question about Windows Vista and compatibility issues. The fact is that Windows Vista is not official on the market.
I'm sure that Toshiba will support the Vista in the future, but right now, there is no drivers Toshiba for this OS.

  • Cannot install Adobe Acrobat 5 because of Vista compatibility

I just replaced a XP Pro computer with a 32-bit Vista Business box. XP Pro had Acrobat 5 installed from the CD and more later put upgraded to Acrobat 7 via a download purchase. I have the serial number of the version 7 of the file, but the operation fails due to the absence of a software qualification (the previous version). While trying to install version 5, I get an error of this facility and Vista compatibility. I start here in case there is something with that Microsoft can help you, if not I will contact Adobe for help. Thanks, dave
PS. If it turns out that Acrobat 7 also has a compatibility issue in Vista, a possibility would be to downgrade to XP Pro.

Are you referring to the Acrobat authoring application, Yes (not Adobe Reader)?
If so, I'm sorry to inform you that even Acrobat 7 don't is not supported by Adobe under Vista - only version 8.1 or higher:
    Q. Adobe Acrobat 8 on Windows Vista support?
    A. prior to shipping in November 2006, Adobe has tested Adobe Acrobat 8 software on
beta versions of Windows Vista. We are now actively testing Acrobat on the shipping
editions of Windows Vista. Visitors can install and run Acrobat 8 today with some
known issues. (FND out more on these issues, please visit www.adobe.com/go/support and)
Search on the keyword Vista in the Adobe knowledge base). In the first half of 2007, we
Expect to issue a free update to Acrobat 8 to support Windows Vista.

Acrobat 7.0 and earlier versions do not support Windows Vista. Adobe does not provide for
release updates to Acrobat 7.0 and earlier for Windows Vista compatibility.
    (from http://www.adobe.com/support/products/pdfs/adobe_products_and_windows_vista.pdf )

You will need to contact Adobe for assistance - this isn't a matter of MS (much less a problem of 'Vista'), it is rather a question of Adobe.

    Chris

  • Windows 7 compatibility issues

    Hello:

I have a Linksys WRT54G Router; have an internet connection through the router cable; and two workstations, one with Vista (32 bit) and the other XP. I would like to replace the XP machine with a wired desktop running Windows 7 (64-bit).

Is there any router compatibility issues that I should be on the lookout for or fine?

    Thank you.

Nope. Your router don't know or care what OS a connected device is running.

  • I am trying to download Media Player 9 and will have compatibility issues

I have Windows Vista Home Premium i can't download Media Player 9 because of compatibility issues, I am tying to download movies from my local library and continue to receive error messages.

You cannot download Windows Media 9 on Vista because it already has Windows Media Player 10. Can't do.

What problems are you having with the downloaded movies? What are the EXACT error messages (Word for Word)?  Which version of Vista you are using.

I can't install ActiveSync due to "compatibility issues". I try to sync my HP Ipaq and I'm stuck now

    What to do next?

The successor of ActiveSync in Windows Vista and Windows 7 is Windows Mobile Device Center. Your iPaq must run a minimum of Windows Mobile 2003 or later.

If this option is not available for you, I suggest you put Windows 7 Professional or ultimate edition (if you are running or the another edition) and download free Windows Virtual PC with Windows XP Mode and synchronize your iPaq there.

I can't install the driver and so unable to use "DigitalPersona Password Manager 2.0.

    Hi Ze,

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community.

I am sorry to say that Microsoft Fingerprint Reader is not compatible with the Windows 7 operating system from the link:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/hardware/en-in/d/fingerprint-reader

You can install the drivers in compatibility mode and verification.

Most programs written for Windows Vista also work in this version of Windows, but some older programs might run poorly or not at all. If a program written for an earlier version of Windows does not work, you can try changing the compatibility of the program settings, either manually or by using the program compatibility problems.
