Vista freezes as user login screen boots

A few months ago, my Dell Inspiron 1720 frozen without any provocation. When I restarted it, it froze once more that the Windows logo appears and the user startup boting login screen. In order to clarify this does not happen during connection attempts, it happens before that anything on the computer is even affected once the login screen begins to load. Once he did that, the cylindrical blue light on the side that normally flashes while the computer is running flashing completely stopped. It's happened every time I tried to start the computer, even if it still starts in Mode safe with no problems. I tried running sfc/scannow in safe mode, however once the scan is completed, nothing happened, and the issue not resolved.

I thought that it would be the hard drive as it was 5 years old at this point. Once I replaced the hard drive, it seemed indeed to fix. However two months later the computer freezes in the uplogon initialization screen even once, is not the hard drive, after all.

I tried to use the windows installation DVD to use the Startup Repair tool, but it did not find any problem with the computer. I am quickly enough on the hope that I can fix this computer and am desperate for any type of solution other than "replace". Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You have the right correction.

Since you last post, I read a thread in the Forums where the OP was bluescreening in Normal Mode and it turns out to be what you think your problem is too much, drivers network adapter...

He has installed the latest drivers for it, no more problems.

Fingers crossed :)

See you soon.

  • Windows 7 freezes on the login screen

I recently encountered a problem on the login screen. When I start my laptop, everything freezes. If I boot in safe mode network, it does the same thing. However, the command-line safe mode and normal safe mode works very well. This isn't a hardware problem. I tried a restore of the system to a date privious, repair with the DVD system. I'm a little lost, it might be something that is broken or the registry. Is there something I could be on?

    Hi all

I was finally able to get the problem resolved. The system has been infected with a rootkit. I had to install and run ComboFix in safe mode.
I you all again once thank for your help. It really helps to better solve the problems.
  • To stop or restart Windows startup bypasses the user login screen.

Windows XP. If I start windows from standby mode it stop on the login screen and allow users to log on. However if I do a restart or if I stopped for some reason, Windows start and pass the login screen and connect, in this case, the third user.  Recently, I had to replace the HHD due the diagnosis "come from failure" and had a problem with my profile to load when I tried to log on. Any ideas? Its most likely related to the way I have put power settings. I don't have what it takes to keep recording whenever I turned my head for a few minutes. (I found the setting for this situation). Any help/direction is appreciated in advance.

Type control userpasswords2 in the box run from the start menu and select the option ask users to enter a user name and password.

  • image to the user login screen

I know that this subject has been discussed several times, but I can't seem to identify my particular problem.
On my login screen - before a user has logged in - the image of user seems to have a photo randomly.  I don't want to use that particular image, but I can't find where this image is.  If I knew where it was stored, I could at least change it.  (In fact, I like the image - I just want to be able to manipulate the picture a bit).
And so others don't waste their time posting, I already use a USER/GUEST image file customized for users.

    Suggestions are welcome.

I doubt that it would be in this resource, simply because it's OEM partner.  Except if you're talking about the login screen background and not user profiles (I've seen some manufacturers put their pictures there).  But no I don't know what resource profile default user picture is stored in.

Why don't you change in the Panel?

I have a question, in this case, however solve?

    AFTER PUTTING IN

There are two users invited, not related to each other.

One is the guest user that you turn on or off in the preferences users and groups window.

The other is the Pseudo-compte of "Guest user" which is activated automatically when you enable find my Mac. It is not a real user, but a recovery mode in which Safari is the app available only. The idea is to allow a thief who steals your computer to browse the Web so that it will stay online and give you time to locate the device.

When 'Find my Mac' or FileVault is turned on, the first guest user is automatically disabled and cannot be re-enabled.

  • Laptop Vista stops at the login screen, works ok in safe mode.

I have a 2 year old Vista laptop. The other day, I went to start and it loaded in the log on screen, and when I entered my password, the whole system just stopped. I tried to boot from the CD, and it's the same thing. I was worried that it was a hardware problem, but when I force him to start safe mode, it is not closed.

I was going to do a system restore, but it tells me that there is no restore point (no idea how this could be!). So I'll try to transfer my data to an external hard drive and do a reset, but it does not recognize that I hooked up an external hard drive when I'm in Mode safe. (even the Safe Mode with networking).

I went into msconfig and disabled all THE programs that have started up with Vista (there were many things maybe 6 total) and then I have it load beyond the log on screen, but while I tried to plug in the hard drive and transfer my data, you stop in again.

    Help, please!

    Laurie

    Hi Laurie,

You can try to disconnect the external hard drive and check to see if you can boot into normal mode.

If you can start, you can leave the cleanboot State computer and disconnect the external hard drive and check the event viewer for the recent event logs, that is causing the problem.

You can update the event logs to help us continue troubleshooting.

    Check out the link:

What are the information in event logs? (Event Viewer)

  • Freezes on the login screen

Whenever I try to run the add-in Connect, it freezes on the screen "Acrobat Connect Pro login". The bar goes up to 100% and nothing happens. Occasionally (1 output pretty much all 8 times) to reach the classrooms, but by clicking on the button yeilds no response. Rarely (1 output about all 12 attempts), I am able to do in the classroom and everything works fine.

I use Windows 7, I tried this on Windows 8 on a different computer with the same results. I've used Connect for many months now, and this is the first time that I had this problem. I cleared my cache used several different browsers and reinstalled the Connect snap.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

It must put in your folder My Documents.

Well at least it narrows it down to something to do with your home network. I could not tell you where to start other than glancing at your firewall settings. You can always contact support at 800-945-9120 and see if they can provide guidance. Having a journal or two for them to see can help, if you can locate them. You can always just search "connectaddin" on your computer and see where the newspapers to turn upward.

If it helps, the newspapers naming convention is adobeconnectaddin-2014-02-06-11-07.log or connectaddin-year-month-day-hour-min.log.

  • Laptop was only gave me my uncle. How do I change to say my name on the user login screen, when I start the computer instead of 'Bob '.

So I just got this laptop from my uncle, and his name is Bob.  When I turn on the computer and need to type in a password to sign in to get to my desk, he says "Bob."  How do I change to say my name... and when I do this it will automatically change my main folder with all my downloads and documents for say my name or if he insists Bob?

I have not thinl there is no procedure for this, the only solution I know is to create a new account with your desired name, copy all the files and the settings for the new user account if you want, and then delete the original account when you are sure that you don't need more.

  • Planning the User Login screen

    Hi all

I have a customer request to perform after the task

If a user connects and opens the report X and the user is working on this form and then disconnects and newspapers in later app then planning is automatically redirect to the previous user of the web form opened.

So now, my client needs user to be redirected to the default page. How this can be achieved.

In forums, I saw John suggested to change "MRU_SCREEN_PROPS" to redirect to a time goal, but here I need a permanent solution, I tried following ways

I've seen pictures where the application is deployed that is the relational database
Table I referred is HSP_USER_PREFS, I have manually modifed column 'MRU_SCREEN_PROPS' in the login page by default of the planning application, but it more written when disconnects and connects

So is it any procedure to permanently redirect my users to a single login page.

    Thank you
    RAM.

    Hello

    You can check the below?
What you defined for the property at the application level in "Current Application Defaults"?

Administration->-> the current default Application settings-> Application settings display Options

Is ' Remember last page visited: "value not in"other Options "?
