• Vista Sidebar Gadgets do not update correctly

  Hi, hope someone can help me here.  Running a Compaq Presario desktop computer.  OS is Vista Home Premium 32 bit and IE 7.  Recently I had today recconnectred with Verizon ISP but I'm having a problem.  I have my sidebar gadgets.  They are both an RSS feed and the weather gadget in the bug.  I deleted them and re added to them and that do not resolve the problem. Oh, I've had better describe the problem!  The RSS gadget does not show the correct update it shows may 17 no 05/06/09 and the time bug gadget does not allow me to define my position, she just a circle with lines circling around it.  They worked until I disconnected.  Can someone tell me in simple steps how to get gadgets to work and be up to date again?  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance

  Personal data backup (which none should be considered 100% reliable at this point) then format the HARD disk and do a clean install of Windows.  Please note that a repair installation (upgrade AKA on-site) won't fix this!

  Method 1.
  To restore the default gadgets that are installed with Windows Vista, use the following steps:
  a. right click on an empty area in the Windows pane, and then click Properties.
  b. click on Restore gadgets installed with Windows.
  c. click OK.

  Method 2.
  This behavior is observed if the XML registration is missing in the system. To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

  a. close Windows Sidebar, to do so, right-click on the Sidebar icon in the Notification area and click on leave.
  b. open a high command prompt window to do, click Start, click principally made programs, click Accessories, right click Guest and then click Run as administrator.
  d. in the command prompt window, type the following command and press ENTER:

  regsvr32 msxml3.dll

  Similarly, run these commands:

  regsvr32 scrrun.dll

  regsvr32 jscript.dll

  e. close the command prompt and restart the computer and check.

• New December Update not opening not Photoshop

  Hello

  I work in Photoshop every day for my work and since the new update it will not open. Am I going to drag a file on the desktop icon to open the program as I always do and it does not open.

  I go to the Task Manager on my PC and it says that Photoshop is running, I end the process Photoshop open right up.

  I have to do this every single time. Does anyone else have this problem? I have to close Photoshop when I'm done with a project because since the update that it won't, just drag it will freeze my computer if the program is open, but do not get used.

  Please open Task Manager and then go to the processes tab.

  In the process, please select Photoshop.exe and do a right click on it, click on set the priority.

  And select high.

  Restart the computer once and then check if Photoshop opens or not.

  When I turn on my computer laptop windows vista, the screen «updates not configured...» "stays on and won't. Seriously, I was sitting there for five hours, trying to make it disappear. I tried to reboot in safe mode, last known good configuration etc. I don't have a Windows Vista disc, but I really need all the files on the computer for school work. I'm sure you'll enjoy it, it's almost time review and I would be devastated to lose all my tickets!

  What happened when you try to start in safe mode?

  Method 1
  I suggest to disconnect all external devices except the mouse and keyboard and check if you are able to boot to the desktop.

  Method 2
  You need Windows vista disk inorder to continue further troubleshooting. If you use a computer Original equipment manufacturer (OEM), I suggest you to contact the manufacturer of your computer for Windows Vista disc. Once you get the Windows Vista installation disc, you can try the steps from the following link.

  Sorry, you have a problem with that.  I suggest trying to uninstall this gadget and then reinstall.  If you open the sidebar click on the (+) sign add a gadget at the top.  Then right-click on this gadget and select Delete.  You can then search gadget to reinstall.

  If you have not saved the document before the reboot - and Windows always give a lot of warning before restarting automatically - while the file disappeared.  There is no way to recover; System Restore does apply to system files, not data.
