Vista Service Pack 1 problem

At Office of Acer Aspire with Vista Home Premium that you format via the start menu. Downloaded and installed service pack 1 now the computer will not start. If I press "F12 Boot Menu" I get 2 choices 'Launch Startup Repair', but just solid line to go and nothing happens. Another option is "Start Windows normally" where he moves just thanks to a load of files and then hangs on one and cannot go any further. This computer didn't happen with any recovery disc and even if she did do not have the option to boot from a drive anyway. Totally stuck, do not know how to get out of this mess. Computer works fine until I installed Service Pack 1. Now can not even go as far as from office. HELP PLEASE!

It won't reinstall Vista.
This isn't somethingit can do...

At this point, I'd suggest a reinstall of Vista.

If you do not have the recovery/s disk, contact the manufacturer of the computer.
Also, ask them how to use the recovery on your computer Partition, if there is one.

Hope it works for you.

See you soon. Mick Murphy - Microsoft partner

I tried to download the Service Pack for Vista on my computer last night.  It was about to finish when he says that the service pack was not installing step 1 and reverting changes.  It is then preceded to stop.  I get the same message all night! All the answers that I found online, people were able to go to their start menu, but I can't even to this because every time it reboots it says me haven't installed ServicePack and it tells me it stops!  WHAT SHOULD I DO? Hello Jason,

Thank you for visiting the website of Microsoft Windows Vista Community

If I understand your message, your computer is stuck in a constant fitness market program.

Lets see if we can solve this problem...

Turn off your computer by holding the power button for about 20 seconds.

Start your computer in safe mode: press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears

Disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure:

    • Click Start
    • Click on Control Panel
    • Click on system and Maintenance link.
    • Click on the system link
    • In the left pane, click Advanced system settings
    • Locate the startup and recovery area, click the settings button.
    • In the startup and recovery window, uncheck the box next to automatically restart.
    • Click OK in the startup and recovery window
    • Click OK in the System Properties window
    • Close the system window

After that... While STAYING in safe mode I do a system restore and maybe try a manual install of the update later.

For the sake of space I refer you to the article about how to proceed.

  • Windows Vista Service Pack 2 problem

    Hello

I want to download Service pack 2, but there is no download availible language that matches the language of my system.

I am currently using Windows Vista Home Premium SP1, and the language of the system is the Dutch

Is the Dutch version, not yet released, (Yes: where is the dl), or he won't be a?

If the last thing is in case then just make one, because I need the service pack to all updates of security and stability, as well as a few new features that might be useful

    Sincerely,

    Hello NelizMastr,

Thank you for using the Microsoft Answers forums.  A set of additional languages 31 in a second wave to be released some time in the near future.  I suggest that you expect that other languages are available before you download Service Pack 2.

    Hello

To be honest, I never had any problem with my Vista updates
The Vista updates automatically every time when I m online and when new updates are available

How have you tried to update the Vista operating system?
Have you downloaded the SP1 version first on the HARD drive or do you run an automatic update?

If the automatic update does not work, try to download the SP1 version first, and then start the update procedure:

You can not install Vista Service pack 2 and get the error with code 800f0a09 and the message that there are problems with the driver for dell latitude.

The problem may occur if some of the components of the update are corrupt.

What is the full error message that you receive?

I suggest you follow the steps mentioned below to check if the problem is with the update components:

Method 1: Reset the update components

    See the site:

Warning: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Hi Electrocuteud,

You have access to a Windows Vista installation disc? If so, follow the steps in this document to perform an InPlace upgrade. This will reinstall Vista without making any changes to the files and programs on the computer. Even if your data and programs must be safe, it is always advisable to make sure that you have a recent backup before major changes on the computer.

  • Windows Sidebar problems since the installation of Vista Service Pack 2

I installed Vista Service Pack 2 today. After the installation of the windows sidebar has stopped working. For example the actions of Gadget, Gadget of the currency, in fact all of the gadgets that require a live stream display the message "Service unavailable". Some gadgets loading is no longer at the side bar, double click on, for example Weatherbug & multimeter (D).  I tried a system restore, but the problem remains, so I did an extra restore to indeed to reinstall Vista Service Pack. I also reset the router and Modem

I tried to remove the gadgets from the sidebar and load it again but the problem still remains.  So I decided to download gadgets again on the Microsoft site but when I click on the link in the window "Get more Gadgets online" link does not work. This problem is only since installing Vista Service Pack 2 any what help you can give me to eliminate these problems would be most appreciated

    Tony

    Tony,
Have you checked your firewall to see if the file sidebar.exe is allowed?  When you have downloaded the update it probably resets the security settings for this program if your firewall blocks most likely it.  First try.

Have you double checked the control panel for the side bar to ensure that it was activated?  Again, the setting could have been modified by the service pack.
Try this, it includes a section "fix it for me":
