  • Click on Control Panel
  • Click on system and Maintenance link.
  • Click on the system link
  • In the left pane, click Advanced system settings
  • Locate the startup and recovery area, click the settings button.
  • In the startup and recovery window, uncheck the box next to automatically restart.

  • Click OK in the System Properties window
  • Close the system window
   
  After that... While STAYING in safe mode I do a system restore and maybe try a manual install of the update later.

  I am currently using Windows Vista Home Premium SP1, and the language of the system is the Dutch

  Is the Dutch version, not yet released, (Yes: where is the dl), or he won't be a?

  I searched the internet for hours now and have found many people with the same problem but I couldn't find a solution.

  I just bought software that requires Vista service pack 1 which I thought that I had already but I didn't so I installed it.
  It goes through the whole process of installation and the last section after restarting, it goes to a black screen where it moves well as files or something but locks files 37898/94821 with the message:! 0xc01a001d! (\Registry\Machine\COMPONENETS\winners\x86...).

  If anyone has had this problem and know what to do.
  My laptop is fine without service pack 1, but my new software needs to work so I have to download it.

  How have you tried to update the Vista operating system?
  Have you downloaded the SP1 version first on the HARD drive or do you run an automatic update?

  I had to format the hard drive and reload the operating system.  Windows stopped to Service Pack 1.

Recently there was no updates of security (e.g., KB2481109) to install it into my system with a error: 80073712 and I had received a notification from windows to install Windows Vista Service Pack 2update. I tried to install it from windows update, but I got the error: 8024200d. I read the solution on this site and followed by download the stand-alone file and install "System Update Readiness Tool" (KB947821). ". After that I downloaded the standalone version "Windows Vista Service Pack 2" (KB948465) and tried to install it, but I got the error: 800f081f. "» I did Scan SFC which there is "no question of integrity" in the system, uninstalled "Avira Antivirus software" and again tried to install Service Pack 2 , but again, I've got the error: 80073712 After all this I couldn't solve the problem. Please provide some tips if anyone has solved the same or has a solution!

  You have access to a Windows Vista installation disc? If so, follow the steps in this document to perform an InPlace upgrade. This will reinstall Vista without making any changes to the files and programs on the computer. Even if your data and programs must be safe, it is always advisable to make sure that you have a recent backup before major changes on the computer.

• Windows Sidebar problems since the installation of Vista Service Pack 2

  I installed Vista Service Pack 2 today. After the installation of the windows sidebar has stopped working.   Have you checked your firewall to see if the file sidebar.exe is allowed?  When you have downloaded the update it probably resets the security settings for this program if your firewall blocks most likely it.  First try.

  Have you double checked the control panel for the side bar to ensure that it was activated?  Again, the setting could have been modified by the service pack.
