(Vista) system restore failed

I am unable to do a system restore, restore I use any one point.  I get an error message that says: "..." transient error.  If the backup process is started, the error does not happen. (0x800423F3)."I retried, and the error reappeared.

BTW, I tried to system restore because my HP Laserjet 1020 suddenly would not work with my laptop.  Reinstalling the printer driver directly downloaded from the HP site is not completable, and try to 'add printer' of said Control Panel printer spool is off... do services' 'spool of printer', 'restart' sequence does not work neither.  I was hoping that a system restore will be a solution and who when I realize that the system will not recover.

Some antivirus and security programs interfere with the restoration of the system. If your computer is running a Norton product, follow the steps on this web page before you run the system restore:

I managed to fix it on my own over the weekend. In Safe Mode, disabled Norton and also downloaded a tool that Norton offers to help solve the problems of this kind.  The tool worked and my laptop works fine now. The update of Java was the problem - I don't allow anything not my automatic update system, but Java auto-updated anti-virus Norton was on.

Hello.  My wife's computer has been attacked by malware.  It all hid on the desktop and the start menu as well as all his personal files, has launched a large number of pop-up windows - up with fake error messages and then prompted to pay an unknown technical support source.  I used the Vista system restore to restore the system to a few days before the attack.  According to the instructions of Windows help, the system restore should not affect his personal files.  I was hoping that his files would be present again after the restore, but they are still missing.  The malware seems to have disappeared now.  Any suggestions on where its files can be located or what measures you need a professional to get back them?

It may be too late now since you won't restore b 'old' enough to do the system restore.

However, it is best to do Safe Mode system restore. You can give it a try.

How to go in safe mode...
Restart > immediately and repeatedly tapping the F8 key until you see a black white screen abd > use the up/down down arrow to select Safe Mode, Mode safe mode with networking, or Safe Mode with command prompt (if applicable)

You should also try to do a check of the system files. It's to look for corrupt files. He will try to fix it if it is found.

He may be able to solve the problem of lack of system restore.

  • System restore failed

System recovery will not work.  Backed up all the files.  Then press the option to retrun the machine to factory (from scratch), but received the error 0xe0ef0003.  Of course, that's after he reformatted the drive so now it does not start upward at all (without SafeMode etc.)

DVD player that I've marked disk system restore which, when it boots off the coast, at least that the machine upwards, but he wants me to choose a recovery tool.

Startup Repair fails (during reboot, it says cannot find the boot mgr).

Restoration of the System Image Recovery - says there is no system image.

    Recovery Manager-no. options available.

Anyone know how to reinstall Windows 7

I really hate that they don't send disks... this idea that the dirve hard to the reinstal is simply bad.

The tool also performs the bootable media.
