Vista to XP Pro

I bought a used PC and told me that he has Vista on it but it's supposed to be set up to be moved to XP Pro.  Trying to figure out how to do.  I have Vista and XP Pro disks.

Hello MarkEP,

Thank you for your message.  Yes, you can reinstall XP, but you need to perform a clean installation.  There is no process of decommissioning which will allow you to keep your data and settings to switch from Vista to XP.  Before installing XP, proceed as follows:

1. go to your computer manufacturer's website and make sure they have XP drivers for your computer (brand/model).
*If the manufacturer has no XP drivers, it is not recommended to install XP because you will have problems after the installation is complete
2 make a backup of all your important data.
3. ensure that in your BIOS boot order configured to load CD/DVD first
4 restart your computer with the XP disk in the drive, and then follow the installation wizard.

  • Cannot find drivers for Vista for Satellite Pro A40

I have the Toshiba Satellite Pro A40.
I find no drivers for the Vista operating system installed recently, or find a way to report directly to Toshiba.
    Seeking advice.

    Hello

You can find some Windows 2 k and drivers for the Satellite Pro A40 XP in Toshiba Archive area.

As you can see this series of mobile could be found in the area of the Archive because it s an old model of laptop. Because this series is a little older Vista drivers are not available and if you want to use the Vista on satellite Pro A40 then you have to collect the Vista drivers at your own hand.

  • G60-125NR of the upgrade from Vista to XP Pro drivers needed

    Hello world

    Details of portable illustrated signature.

I need to upgrade my Vista to XP Pro laptop. The HP site does not really provide any medium for XP as you can see here, it's just the quick launch buttons and the update of the HP software:

I have the software that is running vista other than the fact that I don't just not like vista used. I managed to get pretty much everything works under XP except for 1 driver missing in the device as Manager indicated below:

    Video (VGA Compatible) controller properties > details shows PCI/VEN_10DE & DEV_0845 & SUBSYS_360A103C & REV_A2\4 & 15DBADC5 & 0 & 0058

So what I'm looking for right now. Although it would be nice to have all the correct drrivers for this pc run XP (some of what I have work cannot be what he really need).

What is the new slogan of HP? "Do the PC again" or something like that... lol. Well, I like mine with a side of XP and Linux would take the vista please.

If anyone here knows what I'm looking for the driver? And if anyone knows where all the correct drivers for this laptop (apart from the one to sell them on ebay) it may be easier to post links to them now instead of having to deal with this issue later.

    Thanks in advance.

My company bought a laptop computer for us to use around the laboratory. The Dell Latitude D630 has been bundled with Windows Vista. We prefer to use Windows XP Pro to maintain consistency and ensure that all programs "home-made or home ' run as it should. What are my options to downgrade from Vista to Xp Pro? Thank you.

If you have a retail version of Windows XP with the product key, Yes. As long as there are drivers available for this computer to Windows XP from the manufacturer.

Audio will not play (I get beeps of warning system but that's all, there isn't a problem with the hardware).

In Device Manager, there is a yellow exclamation by the "IDT High Definition Audio Codec" under sound, video and game controllers.

    Dxdiag shows NO device installed.

NO device does appear as installed anywhere.

I tried the updated drivers, did NOT work.  Get the error code 10.

  • Upgrade Vista on Satellite Pro M70

I have the disc Step By Step Business Express Upgrade DVD-ROM and updated and intend to install it on my Satellite Pro M70. The M70 is not among the list of computers.
Where should I go from here?

    Ian

    Hello

    I m bit confused.
What do you mean bythe M70 is not among the list of computers?

You can perform the installation of Vista Express Upgrade or you can just install from the original CD of Microsoft Vista.
This should be no problem! All Toshiba Vista need drivers and tools are published on the page of the Toshiba driver and all internal portable devices should be recognized as well.

If you missed something or what?

  • Official release of the drivers XP and Vista for Satellite Pro P100 - 465 PSPAEE

When will it be available for XP and Vista for the PSPAEE drivers? Currently there are drivers for the PSPA4E, some of whom work, others do not, no operating system. Yes the laptop is preinstalled with the Vista Upgrade and pilots work, but two of the pilot applications are blocked by Defender (NDSTRay / ConfigFree and VolControl). I couldn't get no option to allow to these (not yet classified MS so they are locked) told me to disable Defender technical support!
I tried a clean install of my own version of Vista business and had problems of drivers with that as well.

I would like to run XP until Vista is, shall we say, more effective I would use drivers specifically for her, so time would be very useful.

I would also like to know why there is a where a finger scanner could go under the 0 on the keypad, and a blocked stop lower PCMCIA port (PCI-E?) when any of these are available as an upgrade option? I missed these upgrade options or is it a case of recycled from another model, they exist? If the latter then it is quite cheap for a new machine :)

    Hello

We have all the users here can suggest only it seems that Vista and XP drivers are already available for Satellite Pro P100 PSPA4E
So in my opinion the next drivers for the next series should follow in the near future

I don t see it differently as to wait

Of course, you can test different drivers from different series as Sat P100.
Many laptop models use the same devices and therefore different unique pilots could be compatible

  • Tried the demotion of the DV9832eo from vista to xp pro... need an idea for drivers

A friend brought a Pavillion laptop, DV9832eo, asking him to run XP pro instead of the delivered vista system. (seems to me that he must perform certain mathematical impractical software to run under xp, and vista refuses outright to run it).

so far, the xp installation worked, but I'm coming up short on pilots who will race the sound, graphics (it'll work, but it does not respect the system gpu punch can), card and drive, as well as all the other stuff, they managed to pack in the case of fingerprints.

I managed to mount the wireless works, but the ethernet cable is also stubborn.

Anyone has any idea where I might start looking for some drivers?

as always is the case, it is an urgent job... not all? Well, I told her to go get a coke and a smile, because it would take more than 5 minutes

But please, if you have any (even vague) ideas where to get a driver xp will eat, pretty please, point me in that direction

    Thanks for your time.

Drivers Vista for the machine will work under XP for fingerprint Authentec, Modem, card reader, quick launch (volume buttons) and Synaptics:

  • How to wear the Vista/Toshiba Satellite Pro A200 software after upgrade HARD drive

    Hello.

Have ordered a Seagate Momentus 7200.02 200 GB SATA-300 7200 RPM 16 MB 2.5 "for my Satellite Pro A200GE - 26. Toshiba slow disk with this laptop ships is simply not fast enough so it is replaced.

My question is this: can I use the recovery disc of the DVD came with my laptop to reinstall Vista and all the Toshiba drivers on this new album?

If this is not the case-how can I do?

If I can do it - could you give me a checklist of things to do?
Are several factors I need to get used to exist on the recovery disk?

I ask this because I know how to do this on a PC with the Original OS disc, but I was horrified when my laptop has been delivered and no original OS disk - I think it's very bad for any help would be accepted with gratitude.

    Thank you in advance,

    Kenny.

    Hello

You should not worry about the whole procedure, just install the HARD drive, put the recovery CD in your CD/DVD drive, press F12 and start with your CD drive or just press 'C' (which automatically inserted CD, boots).

The recovery is not limited to a specific HARD disk, it automatically adjusts the size of the partition and install EVERTHING on your disk as a preinstalled OS shipped directly from the factory. Don t you need some additional drivers or software, the only thing you need to do is to copy your personal data on the system drive and customize your windows.

It is the intention of recovery media: put it in and it does everything by itself.

    That's all. :)

    See you soon

  • Where can I find drivers for Vista for Satellite Pro L450D?

Hi, can anyone offer any help please?

My toshiba Satellite Pro (model L450D) supplied with Windows 7 preinstalled. Unfortunately due to virus, I had to format the HARD drive and reinstall an operating system, but only had a legal copy of Vista. Now utilities Toshiba comes back with a message saying that it is blocked at the start, because it is not compatible with this version of Windows (vista).

All the options to download anything for this model of laptop is in Win 7, of course. Where can I find everything I need to be compatible with Vista please?
    Thanks in advance.

And you think that the best solution for you is to use Vista or what?

The problem is that you didn't follow the advice of Toshiba and create the recovery disk. Can you confirm this?
With the help of this disc you can have factory settings and Win7 again.

I think Vista is not solution. First Vista is not supported, so if you can't find the Vista stuff on the Toshiba download page you won't be able to find it anywhere. Best option for you is to order the original Toshiba Recovery disk for your machine. You will get the recovery Win7 image, and you can use it whenever you want.

To order, check it please https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx
If you have any other questions you are welcome.

  • Need driver sound Vista for Saellite Pro L20

I looked through the page of download drivers here and I find an audio driver for Windows Vista 32-bit, but only for Windows XP. I recently installed vista home basic 32-bit, and it's my only driver problem (I had XP before).

    Help, please... Thank you!

    Hello

As I m wrong not the portable Pro L20 does support the Conexant CX20468 - 31 AC97 audio driver

Therefore, you can also try installing the Vista compatible driver to other pages.

The installation can be done from the Device Manager. Use the Advanced installation, and then point to the driver file.

  • Question about the temperature of the processor and the use of Vista on Satellite Pro M70

    Hello

I have Satellite Pro M70-113 and it has Intel mobile Pentium 1.86 GHz CPU.
The problem is that its normal temperature is 80 degrees Celsius... while I use the browser and other common programs...
and recently it automatically shut off twice and pressing the button works / stop won't turn on... when I unplugged, replugged the power cord so I could only turn it on...

And while playing games, it would of course go above 100 degrees...

So you know what is the max temp through which the CPU can go without stop or damage the CPU or surrounding a circuit?
I know that when I bought this laptop about 2 years back... it was not warm this...

And by the way this laptop came with WXP Pro preinstalled and doesn't show any vista capable logo (because at the time, there was no such promotion of Microsoft, as it was the year 2005, Nov).

Now, I use vista and upgraded to 1 GB of RAM and I have no problem using the Vista pc.

Secondly, I did not update my BIOS to version the most recent is available.

Although I'd love to have updated the BIOS but I worry about the bad flashing and says BIOS driver update page that the version of the BIOS doesn't support vista - whatever that means? If I go back to Windows XP Home edition after installing the BIOS for vista, the pc will not be usable for WXP or what?

Is there any link to the processor heats to the old version of the BIOS, I'm still using... will update BIOS facilitated the temperature?

    Please answer.

    Thank you.

    Hello

Wow, you have a lot of questions. :) If I was sort of a support guy to it all with such question much. ;)

No, I'm kidding; with regard to your questions:

First of all you must clean your CPU cooling with compressed air, because if the breakdown is clobbed with dust and then it s just logical that your processor is a little bit more 'hot' then 2 years before.

The max temp is available on the website of intel. I think that the section is called "intel spec finder" or something similar.
With Vista and bios: you need to update your bios, since then some improvements are making more compatible bios for vista.
But don t worry, XP won´t be unusable if you update your bios, the bios-update brings improvements for vista, but does not degrade anything about XP.

If the bios update will solve this temporary problem is not clearly, rather a cleaning as I told you will be better.

    Welcome them
