You may need to re-enable manually. Here's how: to activate manually, go to start, search and type in slui 4 and enter. Enter your country and press Next. You will be on a screen with a phone number and a bunch of codes below. Dial the number and browse automatic guests until you get to a human being. Have your handy product code because it will be asked. Explain the situation, but it's the same PC and only installed on this PC. They should give you a code to enter on this screen to activate Vista.
If this isn't the issue, then repost your question in the Forum Genuine Advantage:http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinevista/threads where validation experts will help you.
Regarding the screen remains black, I don't know if that is related or not if I've ever heard someone talking about this before. We will address the problem of validation first and see if that solves the problem of the screen. If this isn't the case, after return and we will address this issue as a separate issue.
I hope this helps.
Good luck!

Network is configured by a network of professionals expert. So no question of network.
Some people said that this is a limitation of Vista Home, but I do not.

1. How can I make our version "authentic" on our desktop home computer? We do not plan on buying another used computer ever! Or should I say let someone else take advantage of us!
2. Yes, whenever I 'boot' it prompts me to "activate now OR later" I was told to choose activate later... But since we launched this person out of our House, I can't ask for his help.
I sincerely hope that 'Microsoft may help out me on this activation', we don't have any extra money to buy a new operating system or any updates at this time. I am eager to find even a part-time job in January, after the holidays. This computer could be used for this purpose.Happy holidays
Thank you for your quick response,Chavela Hoss
The key used here is the default key.
You must change the product key to the one on the COA sticker on the case of the machine (or in the battery compartment), using the link change the key of product at the bottom of the system properties page.
You may need to activate by phone.

Did you the latest changes on the computer before this problem?
Before the windows update follow the methods check if it works very well.
Method 1: Put the computer in a clean boot state before proceeding with the installation of windows update.
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: After installing windows update, follow step 7 in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.
Method 2: Temporarily disable the security software.

Windows Vista Ultimate Edition will not be upgraded to Windows 7
Windows 7 Upgrade says he cannot directly upgrade Windows XP, duh? I ran the Upgrade Advisor before running the upgrade software and did not get this stupid message. I get only when the software upgrade performs its checks. I am running Windows Vista Ultimate Edition with all updates to September 24, 2013.
Which edition of Windows 7? It matches the edition of Vista you are trying to upgrade to?
When important changes to your computer, for example an upgrade, it is always recommended that you back up your system before installing a new version of Windows. In your case, you can upgrade to Windows 7 depending on the edition and the architecture of Windows Vista, you have installed. If you are running a 32-bit version of Vista and upgrade to a 64-bit (Windows 7 edition) version, you'll have a pure make install, it is the opposite case.
If you are using Windows Vista Home Basic or Premium consumer editions, you can only upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium or Ultimate. In addition, you can make downgrades, which means, if you are running Windows Vista Ultimate Edition now, you cannot downgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium. You perform logical upgrades:
Windows Vista Home Basic > Windows 7 Home Basic, Premium or Ultimate
Windows Vista Edition Home Premium > Windows 7 Home Premium or Ultimate
Windows Vista Business > Windows 7 Professional, enterprise or ultimate edition
Windows Vista Business > Windows 7 Enterprise
Windows Vista Ultimate > Windows 7 Ultimate.

original title: with Acer Aspire Vista Help
Well, here's the story, I bought an Acer aspire T180 a few years back from Best Buy with Windows Vista installed. The only drive I received was a Vista Upgrade disc. Fast forward a few months computer slows down, etc so I thought I'd see any control and maybe cleaning the system some. Put my disk to upgrade looking for the way to do it. Make the mistake of installing the upgrade. now I have the upgrade on my computer and it always tells me that I have a version of windows that is not authentic. I tried to use my COA on upgrade drive, does not recognize and COST on the case of my Aspire, once again with the same result. I have my old version under windows.old, but can't seem to install it. I would just go back to my Vista OEM install. I have access to another computer, but it is an Apple and prefer if I didn't use this option unless it makes it easier. I guess what I'm asking, it's just to get back to my legal version on this computer, would like to keep files, but if can't, I would like to do a clean reinstall. Mine is out of warranty, so no help from Best Buy or Acer without paying theirYou are welcome.
But try first to borrow a Microsoft Vista DVD of an acquantance of work for this restoration instead of a full recovery.
See you soon.

Friend upgrade XP to windows 7. not authentic Windows message receipt. Buy Windows 7 and downloaded to "fix the problem". Computer crashed, but I got a new drive. Should I try install
Hello
So the Windows 7 machine is fine, but its also empty! That we can help you. The XP machine is another matter. If you want to upgrade these machines to Windows 7, and the minimum hardware requirement is met, you can buy discs of software of Windows 7 operating system for each machine (1 motherboard = 1 license for purchased software).
In addition, I highly recommend you reformat two machines for them to XP RID completely, not to mention viruses / malware. If you plan to update the two XP machines with own versions of XP, that's fine, but this isn't the forum for this, the Windows XP forum would be the place, go here: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_xp?tab=QnA .
Thus, the machine to Windows 7. To take no chances. Allows to run several scans on the new machine. You said "didn't work any more", I suppose you can't start Windows, ways to correct? If so, the answer is a program you burn on a CD called BootMed; Download 64-bit here: http://download.cnet.com/BootMed-64Bit/3000-2094_4-75450831.html and the 32-bit version from here: http://download.cnet.com/BootMed/3000-2094_4-75448200.html (only use the Direct download link).
Once downloaded, burn it to a CD, load this CD in Windows 7 computer and ensure that the CD drive is the first boot device, restart the computer. This will load a modified version of Ubuntu on your system, which includes antivirus and anti-malware programs. Run and remove anything they find. When they have finished their trial scans restarting the computer without the CD installed. What happens now?
Post your results here and let me know how you fare.
Kind regards
