Display message on Vista, it is not authentic

I've had my computer for at least 3 years, so there should be no reason to have to authenticate my software for Windows Vista.  When I click on cancel, I get the message that my Windows Vista is not genuine.  What should I do?

* original title - this copy of Windows Vista is not genuine why I get this message and asks for an activation key code when I bought my computer with already installed software? *

Are you actually referring to Microsoft Office 2009 and 2010?

You may need to re-enable manually.  Here's how: to activate manually, go to start, search and type in slui 4 and enter.  Enter your country and press Next.  You will be on a screen with a phone number and a bunch of codes below.  Dial the number and browse automatic guests until you get to a human being.  Have your handy product code because it will be asked.  Explain the situation, but it's the same PC and only installed on this PC.  They should give you a code to enter on this screen to activate Vista.

If this isn't the issue, then repost your question in the Forum Genuine Advantage:http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinevista/threads where validation experts will help you.

Regarding the screen remains black, I don't know if that is related or not if I've ever heard someone talking about this before.  We will address the problem of validation first and see if that solves the problem of the screen.  If this isn't the case, after return and we will address this issue as a separate issue.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Our version of Vista Ultimate is not authentic, how we improve our used computer is authentic?

    1. How can I make our version "authentic" on our desktop home computer? We do not plan on buying another used computer ever! Or should I say let someone else take advantage of us!
    2. Yes, whenever I 'boot' it prompts me to "activate now OR later" I was told to choose activate later... But since we launched this person out of our House, I can't ask for his help.
I sincerely hope that 'Microsoft may help out me on this activation', we don't have any extra money to buy a new operating system or any updates at this time. I am eager to find even a part-time job in January, after the holidays. This computer could be used for this purpose.

    Happy holidays
Thank you for your quick response,

The key used here is the default key.

You must change the product key to the one on the COA sticker on the case of the machine (or in the battery compartment), using the link change the key of product at the bottom of the system properties page.

You may need to activate by phone.

  • Windows 7 Build 7601 not authentic on brand new computer

Purchased my Lenovo to Fry mid October 2012.  Have already experienced several BSOD right after that MS updates were installed every time.  A few days ago, I met several BSOD right after that the Windows updates were installed.  On the last BSOD, I get the message Windows 7 Build 7601 not authentic.  Nothing I tried as suggested on screen worked, amounts to the same thing.  I am a student full time online.  Fall semester ends on Sunday, December 16, and I'm way now behind on all my homework back and my final exams in all categories.  It does not help and I have not the time to take my computer to Fry for them to take a look.  All my data is stored here.  In addition, I tried to restore to another time, when you restart the message was still there then I turned off and when rekindled later it had disappeared, but returned for the next day.  I tried to restore againn but this time it won't go away.  I don't know where my product key is, as it is not on the computer itself.  It may be on a manual but I have since moved and had the movers help me and they put things in the back of my storage unit or in boxes not recognized.  So until I go through everything in my storage unit I'm screwed.  Please help as soon as possible because it's really me screwing.

    Thank you

    Denise

You install the driver from Windows Update updates?

If so, I would avoid their installation in the future and instead to download any available hardware updates directly from the manufacturers Web site.

I also suggest that when you get a new computer and you start for the first time, you must create a system restore point.

As each new Windows 7 PC should come with a COA sticker that is attached to it, this is one evidence of a genuine license installed on the machine. If you bought it on shelf, its possible someone could have pulled off the sticker.

Always check for a real sticker or buy any of the machine.

It seems that you have bad luck with Fry, FRY well their business and the purchase of another where, there is nothing particularly special to their topic. Try to buy directly from the manufacturer online or try another store, if you live close to a Microsoft Store, you can go.

  • Client is not authenticated to the Service of the inventory of VMware

    Dear friends,

I am facing many problems with our vCenter. Its has started with lack material and discovery tab, I am unable to connect using the web client. I tried to dig the cause but could not get anywhere as several articles/discussion found.

I get the error message saying "The Client is not authenticated at the Service of the inventory of VMware". Something that I found while troubleshooting is in the identity source SSO under the local host, the abbreviated name of the remote vCenter (DC) is added and as default instead of the local name. Is this normal? We also have a MRS. in our infra, FYI.

I join DS newspapers which is full of information of identification/powers invalid source error no valid/unknown which I'm not quite understood.

Can someone help me with the problem?

    Thank you!

    Hari.

  • Try using the Vista upgrade disc supplied with the system displays error Windows version is not authentic

original title: with Acer Aspire Vista Help
Well, here's the story, I bought an Acer aspire T180 a few years back from Best Buy with Windows Vista installed. The only drive I received was a Vista Upgrade disc. Fast forward a few months computer slows down, etc so I thought I'd see any control and maybe cleaning the system some. Put my disk to upgrade looking for the way to do it. Make the mistake of installing the upgrade. now I have the upgrade on my computer and it always tells me that I have a version of windows that is not authentic. I tried to use my COA on upgrade drive, does not recognize and COST on the case of my Aspire, once again with the same result. I have my old version under windows.old, but can't seem to install it. I would just go back to my Vista OEM install. I have access to another computer, but it is an Apple and prefer if I didn't use this option unless it makes it easier. I guess what I'm asking, it's just to get back to my legal version on this computer, would like to keep files, but if can't, I would like to do a clean reinstall. Mine is out of warranty, so no help from Best Buy or Acer without paying their

    You are welcome.

But try first to borrow a Microsoft Vista DVD of an acquantance of work for this restoration instead of a full recovery.

  • Vista valid, but still "not authentic".

I recently received a message after starting to validate our copy of vista professional.  He validated successfully, but the message "not authentic" is displayed in the lower right. We have activated and validated months ago, so it is a validation.

On a 3rd reboot, the "not genuine" message is no longer makes its appearance.

  • After using XP pro for more than five years, got a message "Not authentic".

I had a store of the local computer to build my computer with Vista pro more than 5 1/2 years ago. Vista is is crushed so often that a few months later I had to remove it and install my old XP pro trustworthy. It worked without problem for the last 5 years and now I get the message not real like few others I've seen on this website. Unfortunately, I can't find my old drive (real) XP pro and the calendar is not good to reformat my drive right now since I'm in the middle of a project. Is there a solution to this problem? I've never had any problems with my old XP pro on old computer and do not know why this is happening now after 5 years of use contiguous. I appreciate your comments.

  • Vista says THIS COPY OF WINDOWS is IS NOT AUTHENTIC

I bought windows vista Ultimate edition on December 17, 2007, it was a download through bit locker.  I saved the e-mail of the conformation of the purchase.  I am in the army and deployed to Iraq, when I received an email saying that my Bit Locker account would be deleted in August 2009.  Well, the problem is I don't have the ability to do back ups of my purchases.  I recently put the windows Vista ultimate on my new computer and continue to receive my Windows error messages are not authentic. Please y at - it a way to solve this problem.

    Hi Grey203,

You can check your email to see if the key is there.

If you don't have the key, unfortunately there is nothing we can do.

If you are still in service in the army, then you can check if there is a program of release for consumption of your branch.

    Hope this information is useful.
