VIX in Python programming

I need to schedule some funtions with VIX API, but I have to do it in python. For this I need to import DLLs, etc in python... and call vix from a python script features...

can someone help me?

There is an existing third-party Python version of VIX.

Note: none of them are supported or maintained by VMware.

    2. actually, I managed a blockage in a very simple way. I just launch 2 proceccess, insert the new node at the end of the same node in the same container. Blockages appear just after the second process is executed. How does such a thing happen? Simple simultaneous writing should we not resolved with locking and blocking of the system? The second process to wait for the first transaction finsh, shouldn't it?
    3. I have a question about contexts. I can create two types of contexts - XmlQueryContext and XmlUpdateContext. Which of them should I use when I do a query that updates/inserts/replaces only some nodes in the document without having to work with the entire document with i.e. function updateDocument? The lock type is type of context or it is decided later after analysis of the query?

    1. the XmlDatabaseException seems to have a constructor with arguments in the wrong order:

    In dbxml.py in the XmlDatabaseError constructor. Make sure that change and I would like to know how it works.

    2. it depends on how you insert. If you insert a query which, apparently, you can do it is likely that the query part is what's blocking with the update. Calls simultaneous putDocument() in 2.4.16 will tend to back up on another. No matter, if you make simultaneous anything, you must manage the blocking. There will be less because the container expands.

    3 contexts - use the one that calls the API. Querys, put to date or not, call for XmlQueryContext. Direct update (except Java) operations call for XmlUpdateContext. It can be made optional in Python in the future, but for now, it isn't.

    If you don't know what's Jython, is a version of the Python programming language Java.

    When I type "python" in the Terminal, it starts to Python.

    Yet, when I type "jython" in the Terminal, I get the following response:

    Why doesn't python first, but jython? How can I add jython for the path?

  • Wireless for HP OfficeJet 6500 a configuration more all-in-One on Ubuntu 10.04

    I bought a HP OfficeJet 6500 has more all-in-One CN557A, I want to use with ubuntu 10.04 64 bits as a wireless network printer.

    The machine is detected automatically and fully functional when connected with a usb cable, but I failed to operate as a wireless printer.

    I configured the printer on the network (through the interface of the printer), and it connects. It prints a 'Wireless Network Test report', and everything works. I can ping the local ip address and access it via the browser. HP eprint also works.

    I installed hplip 3.11.10 and dependencies manually. I did this because the default hplip in ubuntu 10.04 did not recognize the device.

    I do not understand how after this point, and any help is welcome.

    A friendly soul on ubuntuforums pointed out, that the wireless configuration is necessary only if the printer is NOT connected to a local area network (W). So everything what I should really do is to configure the printer on the page Administration of CUPS, and it worked. Problem solved. Ridicule me.

  • Nitpicking newbie frustrations

    I did some C, Javascript, VB, Python programming. A bit rusty now, but I intend to develop a few fairly simple BB apps. Got started with the installation of Eclipse (the all-in-one download).

    I have a problem that is getting me down. I made Hello world, and a couple of tutorial relies on the web: Tip Calculator, connect dialog box. They work. The basics of the IDE are understandable.

    NOW, I'm following a tutorial that uses 4 classes and when I try to launch it, I get only "My Title" on the screen of the Simulator, and an eclipse warning that the main method in the Application class is not invoked:

    I spent hours and hours with Google searches, and/or implemented subtle changes in my code or structure of package and names, try to resolve it.

    BTW, I don't understand why most names package that saw him begin with "com" but, I don't think that's the key. The tutorial that I work through them has starting with "org."

    I think I know what is happening with Eclipse... who have now implemented a new workspace and a project name, and the package...

    Eclipse automatically creates a package named mypackage. I've been following tutorials and create a package as directed, usually starting with com.something.something. But the original mypackage is still there, which, I think, was for a good reason.

    When I did a tutorial with the name of the package from org.something.something, it appeared listed alphabetically AFTER mypackage. Apparently, the two packages are running, and the primary method in which runs first, in alphabetical order, is the one that is active and visible, while the other is not.

    Then, get rid of mypackage and all is well. Right? I hope that's not there for some esoteric reason, I still don't understand!

    We have a physically inaccessible WAP4410N because of its location on top of a large warehouse. It is online and functioning, but we have no record of the password to login and change the settings of the administrative apparatus.

    Is it possible to reset the password remotely? We can reset to the factory settings by sending an HTTP request any?

  • Writing to the mapped network drive stops intermittently

    I have a professional machine of windows 7 which has a mapped network drive and a python program that writes on the mapped drive. Occasionally, she stops writing on the part. The only thing I noticed is that the computer browser service keeps stopping and starting. Any help much appreciated.

    I modified the registry to disable smb master browser to stop the election of browser:

    I've used this same python program on the same machine with an installation of centos without any problem.

  • Lightroom 5: AppleScript: action 'AXShowMenu' in the Smart Collection Panel does not display a context menu

    We are developing a tool for simple automation using Lightroom 5 (the most recent version of the penal code) using AppleScript.

    For certain actions, we need the context menu in the Panel smart Collections, for example, to import smart collections descriptions.

    According to the documentation and sources on stackoverflow and elsewhere, AXShowMenu should bring up this menu.

    So far I was not able to do the contextual pop-up menu.

    With the help of UIElementInspector and the browser of the user interface, I have found the element that has the attached AXShowMenu action. Based on the code provided by the browser of the user interface, I got the following script, that I run from the Applescript Editor:

    I was running VMware Player 3.0 with VMware Tools installed and VMware VIX 1.8.0 installed on a host of Win7 Ultimate 64-bit. The Useraccount on the host has administrator rights. Guest operating system is WinXP SP3. Since I need two softwares of different recording/Dictation on my workstation and I could only one of them simultaneously open (which is very uncomfortable, when you need to change frequently), because those two were always challenging who got to use the microphone, I installed a second microphone (that only the application for the two contest) and then created a virtual machine to run the software second with one of the two microphones connected only to the prompt. (Directly/comfortably) to start the second software I created a. LNK shortcut file (and attached to the startmenu) who run the command

    This worked well, until I updated my VMware Player to 3.0.1. Since the update however, my shortcut file simply is unable to start the virtual machine. However, starting the virtual machine of VMWare Player normal window still works. By running the command mentioned above constitute the command line prompt, I got the information, this vmrun.exe could not connect to the host, due to an error, the specified version is not found, which probably means that the VMware Player.

  • Interactive VixVM_LoginInGuest working on a single machine, does not work on another

    I have four desktops with Windows Vista Business SP1 and VMware Workstation 6.5.1 (build 126130) on this subject. Guest computer has Windows Vista business with the latest tools installed (7.8.4, build 126130 VMware).

    Recently, I noticed that interactive VixVM_LoginInGuest call only works on my machine - it connections correctly and then generates a program in an interactive session using VixVM_RunProgramInGuest. On the other host that has the same bits of VM, it executes the program even in a non-interactive session.

    I wrote a sample that loads a virtual machine, returns to a specified snapshot, open a session using the VIX_LOGIN_IN_GUEST_REQUIRE_INTERACTIVE_ENVIRONMENT option and generates a calc.exe. I ran this example on four desktop computers and it worked only on half of them. On these two machines, 'bad', I had no VIX, no unhandled, exception error no nothing. Everything goes smoothly, but they find themselves with calc.exe running in a non-interactive session.

    Next, you need to make sure that the DLL is right is in the working directory of your program, or the path to the current version of VIX (probably C:\Program VMware VIX\Workstation-6.5.0\32bit) is in the PATH environment variable.

    In addition, I'm not sure why. Even though I am debugging my program in VS2008, when the accident occurred, I get a different dialog box that opens with the crash and asks me to select a debugger. If I look through the code in the debugger I was originally running, I can't find the battery failure or call. In the dialog box, if I choose to start a new debugger I can get the above information.

    This issue has been addressed here and here. Generally, the next version of VixCOM will most likely fix it (VMWare isn't saying when it ships).

    If you do not simultaneous connections to multiple hosts, you should be able to get around the crash by releasing virtual machine objects, by disconnecting and by calling GC. Read the threads. It might help if you go to VMWareTasks, the biggest problems are around IVixHandle-s of monitoring and ensuring that everything is null-ed, disconnected and closed - the library supports that.

    Do you see any activity of hard light car or hear the operation of the HARD drive?

    If so, I would be a few hours more.

    If not, then, Yes, I would put the recovery disk 1 into the machine, restart it, and trying to recover from the disc, Vice President of the recovery partition.

    Two important points to note...

    1. you should perform the restore process (whether by the partition of rec or rec DVD) with only the keyboard, mouse and monitor connected. Nothing else.

    2. the recovery process might be embarrassed more far away if you have installed a video card, or any other add on the map that was not a part of optional equipment for your model.
