  • KB963671 update continually fails to install with error 80070652

I have a HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop under Microsoft Vista Home Premium (32 bit).  My Windows Update is configured to be installed automatically, but there is an article that fails to install every day.  The update by using the Microsoft Script Editor (KB963671) fails to install with error 80070652 code.  I read this error code indicates failure prerequisite installation/update, but I don't remember that ever happening.  When I run Office Diagnostics, everything comes out very well.  I searched the Microsoft discussion groups and communities, but have not been able to discover a solution.  Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.  Thanking you in advance for your help.

  • KB2962123 fails to install with error code 0 x 80073712

    Dear community,

For some time now, I was able to update my system Windows 8.1.

KB2962123 and all subsequent updates fail to install.

I tried everything, even after the steps in the following links:

    -http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows8_1-windows_install/kb2919355-windows-81-update-fails-800f0092-and/4d4d23a3-695a-4bd4-b340-d2ce9c75919d

    However, nothing helps.

I am considering a clean install, but I don't see why I should take drastic action just to get an installed update.

So, can someone please provide a solution to fix my broken Windows Update?

    Kind regards

    Hello

As you mentioned in your message that you've tried everything, even after the steps in the following links:

I would like to know have you tried to perform a system refresh which is one of the steps in the article above.

Cooling system: If your PC does not perform as in the past, and you don't know why, you can refresh your PC without delete all of your personal files or change your settings.

Refer to refresh your PC without affecting your files

  • Windows Update fails to install with error code 8e5e03fb

15 July Windows Update suddenly stopped to download and install some important files required to update Vista Home Premium SP1. The error code is still 8e5e03fb, not recognized by Microsoft, although I saw messages on Forums dating back to April 2009, mentioning only the code. I worked with Alan Leon, Support Engineer, but without success. Some updates pass through but none are helpful to the OS or Internet Explorer. So far, none of the Knowledge Base articles have been useful. Only one file, c:\windows\system32\dllcache\wucltui.dll, is missing from my system, but Alan Leon has not confirmed that it might be relevant. Alan suggested that my problem might be connected connection but his suggested change my settings did not bring the expected results. My ISP has a function that allows me to see the data to flow both up and down. When data are sent or received, it can be seen clearly but when Windows Update is running, there is no data flow showing.

    Hi Kanizsa,

Let us know what you have already done, the security software installed on the computer and the updates that are available for installation.

    Check the above services below:
    (a) Background Intelligent Transfer Service
    (b) cryptographic service
    (c) Windows Update

    (II) rename the Catroot2 folder

To rename the Catroot2 folder, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, type cmd in the search box and right-click on cmd.exe, and then click Run as administrator.

    % systemroot%\system32\CatRoot\{F750E6C3-38EE-11D1-85E5-00C04FC295EE}

If any of the files that begin with tmp exist in this folder, do not remove any other files. Files .cat in this folder are necessary for installing hotfixes and service packs.

Important: Do not rename the folder C:\windows\system32\catroot. The Catroot2 folder is automatically recreated by Windows, but the C:\windows\system32\catroot folder is not recreated if is renamed the folder C:\windows\system32\catroot.

(III) Re-register DLL files that are associated with Cryptographic Services

To register .dll files that are associated with Cryptographic Services, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, type cmd in the search box and right-click on cmd.exe, and then click Run as administrator.
    2. At the command prompt, type the following commands and press ENTER after each command:

    output

    Note: Click OK if prompted.

    Restart the computer.

(IV) empty the software distribution folder
