VM cannot access the material of the hypervisor

Hello.  I have ESXi installed on a workstation HP xw6600 (dual xeon 2 GHz, 8 GB of RAM and processors about 1 TB of the storage facility in two data warehouses).  I have made is P2V or V2V migration to fill the hypervisor with VM (I have 4 currently running) and am now trying to install a new virtual machine.  I created the virtual machine itself, inserted the Win2K8 DVD into the DVD drive of the workstation and set in motion the virtual machine.  The virtual machine starts in PXE mode (of course, as there is no OS installed), but in the VM properties dialogue box, less material, I can only set the CD/DVD drive on client device type (and then connect to it, once the virtual machine is running, which bypasses the discovery of material in POST) and not to the type of host device (which would allow me to select the connection to the discretion power).  So I'm stuck with a virtual machine that is configured, will continue to feed on fine, but does not automatically connect to the DVD local drive so that I am able to install on OS!  Very frustrating... ideas?

Thanks in advance for any help!

No problem.

In the configuration of the virtual machine, under the cdrom, there is the option to select "Client" (the CD-ROM of your desktop), host (your cdrom of ESX Server) device and Datastore ISO file. Select the Datastore ISO file.

You can then search the ISO in question file and select it.

Also be sure to check the box "Connect to turn on" at the top.
