VM on Update2 and Update3

Hello

two questions:

1 - a VM with ESXi 3.5 U2 can run on another host ESXi 3.5 U3. Simply copy this virtual machine with the browser and add to the inventory of ESXi 3.5 U3?

and

2 - an upgrade to U3 U2 hold the same configuration and VM on the host, is transparent?

One thing that you usually when you upgrade your version of ESXi is also updated the VMware Tools in the virtual machines.   For an upgrade to the latest version of ESXi, you won't actually use the update installation CD 3.   If you don't have VirtualCenter, take a look at the methods here - http://www.vm-help.com/esx/esx3i/Patch_3i_without_VC.php.   Before the upgrade, it is a good idea to have a backup virtual machines plus one of yoru ESXi config using vicfg - cfgbackup.pl.

    Hi all and thanks in advance.

    I have a new r710 which has a great for a few months then it has slowly degraded until now, it's an analysis on all the vm, I can't tell which one is it slows down because all the performance counters show a lot of place in all categories. I've been doing the reconnection to the datastore2 and datastore1, then I get a restored connection. I moved the Exchange 2010 vm to the datastore3 that does not have errors, but it is still slow. I wonder if I should move all the vm off the other two data stores and delete, and rescan the esxi for storage and back as data 1 and 2 stores. I have esxi 4.0 not improved update2. and there an esxi license and there 6 installation of drives western digital black 1 TB in raid1 3 - then I have every configuration of raid as a logical drive which is then turned into a data store.

    I don't know if the downturn is the hardware or a virtual machine is pulling them down - I'll start out them one by one to test tonight, but the advice or opinions are welcome.

    I don't know what your storage looks like initially but I would recommend HAVE TO go with update 2 - we had all sorts of problems with particular storage when you use storage VSA as the left hand.  Update 2 provided some great improvements to the vmkernel regarding VMFS.

    You can also publish newspapers vmkernel of any of the host in question and we can take a loo at it.

    Seriously, update your esx/esxi servers is always a good practice when you have weird problems.

    I get a random error called "Update3.exe" with a message: "the instruction at 0x7c84cd12 referenced memory at 0 x 000000014. The memory could not be written. I find an answer, it's a worm, another it's a ParetoLogic file, and another that it is a normal part of Windows update.

    Anyone know the facts?

    It's no help since I had already done these things. I am a COMPUTER professional. It's on a Server 2003 Standard. I found the file in a 'common' folder, having to do with a software called TechGeekToolbox. I uninstalled the program and that you have no more errors.

    I hope someone can help me with this question... I looked long and seriously, and you have tried all of the suggestions posted (cancel/save, etc.).

    I am trying to install a program and Windows Installer stops right in the middle of installation and a dialog box appears with information from command line, and the only thing I can do is select 'ok'... the program is not installed.

    The file I'm trying to install is an exe file (so the SIG file is embedded in the exe file).

    I tried the option "Run As Administrator" and it did not work.  However, you gave me an idea that has provided a work around that allowed me to install the program.

    Once this dialog box is displayed with all the control switches, rather than press 'OK', I left on the screen and went in the 'temp' folder and find the MSI program I tried to install (I cross referenced the timestamp of when I tried to install it to find).

    Once I found the updated file, I clicked it, and he proceeded to install the program... I have not had any other problems with the installation.

    So, there's something wrong with the way that the exe file have been created and how the files extracted from the msi file (these are files of Intel and Lenovo - driver updates - so I think they do these things) or there is a problem with Windows Installer.

    For now, at least, I have a work around I use until I find a solution to this problem of permanent

    OAuth.rename_client does not work that way.

    It doesn't do anything.

    We could not work around the problem by using only a privilege by client because there is a unique uri models as key constraint ' / shop / *' ADR on the scheme.

    In this way it is impossible to create multiple privileges (each for a certain role) access to the same uri scheme.

    Is this a known issue?

    After some trial and error, we found a solution to our problem!

    According to the documentation, you will need to define a privilege name when you create a customer. But OAuth clients who obtain access through access client identifying information flow do not need privileges. Thus, we create customers with privilege names set to NULL now.

    What we do is to grant to the customer a specific role that is defined for specific privileges.

    Here are the reasons why we didn't get the question earlier. The token you generate a client is linked to the privileges given to the customer at the time that the token is generated.

    We have updated privileges customer and used the same token expect a different result, which was not the case. The rights are tied to the token on the creation of a token.

    We found out about it today and tested two-legged oauth clients (with a flow rate of access client_credential) with no particular privileges and only granted roles. Given that the roles granted privileges everything works as expected.

    Still leaves the ORA-error when providing separated by commas in the names of privilege to oauth.create_client and oauth.update_client.

    But our problem is solved.

    We currently have vCenter 5.5 Update 2 with SRM 5.8.1 and SRA for EMC VNX (EMC VNX SRA with MirrorView Enabler for 5.0.39 VNX) and want to upgrade to vCenter 6.0 Update 2.

    Bottom line: I am looking for EMC VNX SRA with MirrorView Enabler for VNX SRM 6.1 (which is the only currently taken SRM supported by vCenter 6.0 Update 2).

    Your questions:

    1 MRS. 6.0 should work with vCenter 6.0U2, but as you mentioned, it is not supported by VMware.

    2. as far as I know, such a DSM is underway. I suggest you speak with your EMC representative to confirm that and give you an ETA.

  • vCSA and connection VNXe3100 LUN failed

    I got a problem here. Let me say the scenario:

    I have a VNXe3100 LUN iSCSI-exporter. The export process are all conducted in the storage interface. We got a single ESXi host that accepts the LUN, it goes up and everything runs smoothly.

    But when I'm building a clustered with two ESXi environment and the vCSA, the is working properly. When you deliver the LUNS, the vmhab is the storage, the path become active and the LUN is in operational condition mounted, but the data store is not mounted. Even using the storage... Add ability to add manually storage fails.

    I think this could be a problem of vCSA, because with isolated hosts, everything works.

    Does anyone have any idea?

    Even under vCenter: install the product... specify the existing DSN, and there will be an upgrade.

    This is the procedure if you are not the root password - if you know not the root password, you can use the passwd command while logged in as root.

    No, you can install VC U3 from the outset.

    It is there, try cloning a VM while it is running, if you actually run VC U3, it should work...

    Level in oracle Rollback statement says:

    (1) If a single LMD fails while executing this single statement is rolled back.

    (2) the oracle server implements a default backup point.

    (3) all other changes are preserved.

    (4) the user has to interrupt transactions explicitly by executing a statement commit or rollback.

    issues related to the:

    ............. (1) assumes that I have a transaction T1, T2... TN.

    Obviously T1 starts with begin and ends to commit / rollback. It may look like:

    A DDL statement cannot be part of a transaction (or, more precisely, before 11 g R2, issuing a DDL statement will be automatically and impliictly validate the previous transaction, starts a new transaction and validate this new transaction if it is successful). Since the DDL changes the structure of the database, it is exceptionally difficult to do in a transactional manner. You cannot restore a DDL operation (although Oracle can if the DDL statement fails). This may change to some extent in 11g R2, some of the new arrivals appear to allow several editions of the code runs in the same time, potentially changing DDL transaction semantics. It'll be a few months before the documentation is available on this feature, however.

    As you say errors in (this scenario) is not related to the error DDBMS, and these errors shouldn't be a syntactic error, if I am mistaken please clear my confusion) then what are the types of error in the database can cope?

    If update3 is not intended to be distributed operations (I guess that DDBMS is expected to mean "distributed database management system"), I guess it could be a SQL syntax error, but which would cause the statement fails before that she had even started, which rather defeats the purpose of roll back to a save point, because there would be no changes to roll back. In addition, a syntax error shouldn't be possible in a production application - if a SQL statement in a procedure has an error, the entire procedure may not compile. More commonly and more interesting for what you ask, would be the case where the update statement updates of 100 lines and then generated a line 101 update constraint violation.

  • BDP-S570 and SACD

    Hi, I'm new on this forum, but long-time Sony fan and supporter. I recently bought a new Sony BDP-S570 BD player to go with my old Philips 32 '' LCD HDTV, the new Sony KDL-46HX800 3D TV and the STR-DA4600ES receiver. I have also several audio SACD discs I wanted to play with this configuration.
    Here's the problem I have:
    I currently have my receiver output HDMI connected to my HDMI TV Philips entry. I have my BDP-S570 connected to the Sony STR-DA4600ES HDMI4 entered. I put the BDP-S570 to output SACD PCM since this receiver that I discovered after I bought it does not support the SACD DSD decoding. Anyway, in PCM mode when I try to play any disc SACD, I see video playback on the TV screen, but there is no audio output. If I put the drive to play only tracks CD (as opposed to the SACD titles) of the disc, then it plays audio in stereo via the PCM mode very well.
    I narrowed down it to her get to play SACD by disconnecting the HDMI TV to receiver connection. If I remove the connection HDMI to the TV, the BDP-S570 SACD multichannel audio stream to the receiver. If I turn on the TV the audio stream disappears again. If I connect the player to a compatible old receiver from Onkyo NR-905 HDMI 1. 3A, she plays SACD audio fine even with connected HDMI TV. So it seems to be a bug in signaling of handshake in my Sony (receiver and BD player) components.
    Sony support, please have your engineers check this aspect of the game of the SACD through your own line of Sony STR-DA4600ES of receivers with an old connected HDMI TV. It simply doesn't get it!
    Sorry for the long-winded post but no other way to describe the details of my configuration to explain it all. Is there a fix in the works for more reliable SACD playback on this player BD BDP-S570 3D? Oh, BTW, I installed the latest firmware update from 13/02/2011 or there abouts. Receiver was last updated available also new out of the box. Please tell me Sony is concerned and is looking to fix this incompatibility in the next version of the firmware! Thank you!

    I just update my situation with this problem of reading SACD I posted. I see nobody else was interested, but I'll post my resolution and conclusions.

    I got my BDP-S570 to play multi-channel SACD through my receiver STR-DA4600ES now by removing a HDMI switch which is connected between a video output HDMI to my receiver and my TV HDMI input jacks. It's the HDMI switch which was somehow not the right signals to the system causing the BD drive to not stream of SACD PCM signals to the receiver. As soon as I removed this switch HDMI from the signal path, it al started to work and read its SACD via the receiver.

    Also, I just noticed that the BDP-S570 is streaming music network in multichannel format now on Pandora music! I never saw blue light multichannel light upward when streaming music on the internet before. I don't know if it is also a symptom of the switch HDMI sending bad communications signals to the player OR if there is a change in the last update of the firmware that I installed on my BDP-S570. It's streaming multi-channel music on Pandora as I type this post!

    Update: I think the BD drive his downmix PCM multi-channel had put instead if 2-channel PCM. If this can explain why I see multichannel streams now too and has not seen him before. HDMI switch issue was also this masking of screening until previously I suspect. Now with HDMI switch out of the picture, it appears as a multi-channel as it supposed to.

    Update2: Well I just tried to change the setting to "DownMix" multichannel stereo PCM BD drive. Then I turned off the BD drive and turned back on to ensure that it restores its settings. I pulled to the top of the current internet music and video broadcasts and guess what? The Sony receiver is always get a stream PCM multi-channel (surround sound)! So it isn't the "DownMix" setting, which is the only cause. Apparently after I loaded the last firmware for this player, it plays now all this internet stream (music and video sites shows) in Multchannel surround sound mode.

    Update: too bad people, I found my answer. The cause of constantly multichannel PCM streaming of all my network connections was because I had the BDP-S570 DTS parameter defined on ' Neo: 6 Music ' instead of 'Off' in the settings menu. I set this to "off" and all the music from the internet is now back to regular 2-channel flows. for info. case solved.
