  One thing that you usually when you upgrade your version of ESXi is also updated the VMware Tools in the virtual machines.   For an upgrade to the latest version of ESXi, you won't actually use the update installation CD 3.   If you don't have VirtualCenter, take a look at the methods here - http://www.vm-help.com/esx/esx3i/Patch_3i_without_VC.php.   Before the upgrade, it is a good idea to have a backup virtual machines plus one of yoru ESXi config using vicfg - cfgbackup.pl.

  I have improved my Virtual Center 2.5 to 2.5 update 3. After doing this, I have 2 of my ESX v2.5.4 servers which will not reconnect.

I don't know that I type in the good user/pass as I turn around tight and SSH on the server using the same user/pass.

  I tried to do "service vmware-vpxa restart" on the hosts. What log file I look in upon the host server to find the real problem, and is there any other suggestions on a quick fix to try before the word is supported?

  The first should be fingerprint sensor and a second module BT. If you have installed BT stack installation activate BT (FN + F8) to complete the installation of the BT module.

  I started with an absolutale new Windows installation and the following Toshiba drivers have been installed: AHCI, display driver, the drivers LAN and WLAN, Sound driver, drivers of Webcam and touch pad. At this time, some of the Fn keys worked (but not all and without the OSD indicator). Then I installed the package of value added, and only the volume up/down keys Fn (Fn + 3/4) worked. I tried all the settings of the application of Flash cards, but nothing helped. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the package of value added, but just with the Flash Cards application (other applications were not selected). The symptom is the same.

  Yes! There is a microphone slot, but it seems that they left out of the documentation. Must lift and remove the rear piece which covers the camera and speakers and you will see.

  Ahh, I see not why this feature may be unannounced. It seems android has not really supported this in a simple way. For example, there seems to be no way to point apps like dropbox, sugar sync etc. to use this new space. The microsd card is mounted as/mnt/sdcard2. I guess it would be possible to make links between/mnt/sdcard and/mnt/sbcard2, but who wants to do everything :-(
  Update2, ridiculous amount of updates, I quite agree and pls bring on the firing squad. So, I want to point out that you can use the slot micosd to carry about 5 movies or a stub to load music etc... So not all bad. I'll have to see if a music player can find the files on sdcard2, hmmmm update3 to come.

  We currently have vCenter 5.5 Update 2 with SRM 5.8.1 and SRA for EMC VNX (EMC VNX SRA with MirrorView Enabler for 5.0.39 VNX) and want to upgrade to vCenter 6.0 Update 2.

  1 MRS. 6.0 should work with vCenter 6.0U2, but as you mentioned, it is not supported by VMware.

  2. as far as I know, such a DSM is underway. I suggest you speak with your EMC representative to confirm that and give you an ETA.

  Recently, my server ESXi 5.5 showed an error:

  Lost connectivity to the mpx.vmhba32:C0:T0:L0 device support the start file vmfs/devices/disks/mpx.vmhba32:C0:T0:L0 system. As a result, the host configuration changes will not be saved in persistent storage.

  To give some basic information:

  The server is an HP ProLiant ML350 G6 2 x Xeon E5504 with 72 GB of RAM. I have a P410i Raid Controller with 8 disks (RAID-5 7 with 1 spare part) and an Areca ARC-1220 with 8 disks in RAID-5. The P410i RAID-table is used for Virtual Machines, while the table on the Areca is used for the storage of the largest. I got 5.5 ESXi (downloaded an image on the official site of HP - HP-ESXi-5.5.0-Update3-iso-550.9.3.26) installed on a USB key (Sandisk Extreme USB 3.0 16 GB) places in the internal USB slot on the motherboard.

  Nobody near the server at the time that that was the problem. So, I'm sure it's not because someone bumped into the USB or something.

  Of course, I looked around to see if anyone has exactly the same problem or knows how to solve it properly. So far, I have not found something I could use. I know now that once started, ESXi is completely loaded into RAM, so I could just plug it into the USB and examine it. I inspected the USB and found no problems when I put it in my office. To be sure I saved the USB while Paragon backup and restore. After you reconnect the server continues to display the error. When I start SSH and search for devices, ""mpx.vmhba32:C0:T0:L0 "does show, but I have no idea of what I can do with it to make sure that the current running configuration gets saved back to this USB and make sure that when the server is restarted, it will load my configuration.   Finally, I had enough time to close all VM and try a few things.

  For those interested, it was my job steps to restore my ESXi.

  1. ESXi set in maintenance mode
  2. Download VMware vSphere PowerCLI
  3. Run as administrator
  4. Connect to ESXi (Connect-VIServer-Server 0.0.0.0 - user user - pass pass) - where 0.0.0.0 = ESXi ip, user = user name for ESXi and pass = password for this connection.
  5. Save the current running configuration (Get-VMHost 0.0.0.0 |) Get - VMHostFirmware - BackupConfiguration - DestinationPath "D:\temp\") - where 0.0.0.0 = ip of ESXi, "D:\temp\" = destination for the backup folder (don't forget this folder exists on the PC that you run from)
  6. Stop your ESXi host

  Now at this stage, it proved there was nothing wrong with my USB key, for a reason any ESXi do not use it until I rebooted the system, of course the configuration that it charge was outdated, so I restored the configuration for the backup, I just do. It could also be that your USB key (or any other boot drive) is default and you must completely reinstall ESXi. However, after a clean installation, that you can also simply restore the backup configuration. To restore the backup, I used the following steps:

  1. You start ESXi host (make sure it is installed)
  2. Connect to ESXi (Connect-VIServer-Server 0.0.0.0 - user user - pass pass) - where 0.0.0.0 = ESXi ip, user = user name for ESXi and pass = password for this connection.
  3. Restore the backup configuration (Get-VMHost 0.0.0.0 |) Set - VMHostFirmware - restore - Force - SourcePath "D:\temp\configBundle-0.0.0.0.tgz") - where 0.0.0.0 = ip of ESXi, ' D:\temp\configBundle - 0.0.0.0.tgz' = the configuration file (make sure that this file exists on the PC that you run from)
  4. Wait a few seconds, if it does not automatically restart, do it manually
  5. The configuration should now be loaded again, and the missing boot drive error should be gone.

  Here are the steps to upgrade to host ESXi 4.1 4.1 3 update using AUVS.

  1 Hope you have Crossover installed and configured with vCenter Server. If none please follow this installation guide.

  2. once the VUM extension is added to the vCenter server, select it from the House.

  In vSphere Client that is connected to the vCenter server.

  4. go to the tab "Repository of Patch" and select the "Cumulative" package for «VMware ESXi 4 Update3»

  

  5 right-click the bundle selected rollup that is 'VMware ESXi 4 full Update3"and add to the newly created base line.

  6 fix the base to the host line after putting the host in maintenance mode.

  7. analysis of the host, it should show the host is non-compliant.
