VMTools status Installation Script

Hey all,.

I'm trying to make a script to report all VMs that do not have the tools installed, but is to have back all my lines of veeam and who is simply not necessary.  Here is my script, what am I I did wrong to remove any virtual machines with the _replica suffix.  Here is my script:

Get - VM | Get-View | Select-Object @{N = 'The virtual computer name'; E={$_. Name}},@{name="VMware tools; E={$_. Guest.ToolsStatus}}

Notice-EEG - ViewType VirtualMachine-Name, Guest.ToolsStatus - filter {} @ property

"Config.Template"="False"; "Guest.ToolsStatus"="^ (?. toolsOk $). * $»} | -Object Name,@{Name="ToolsStatus; E={$_. Guest.ToolsStatus}} |

I have excluded some information before that to connect to vcenter and after because I have this FTP to a web server.

Any help would be great, thanks!

Andy

That work to exclude the _replica VM, but there seems to be an error with the way your filtered for ToolsOk.  The output error shown VMs with ToolsOK. So I edited a little like this:

Notice-EEG - ViewType VirtualMachine-property Config.Template, Name, Guest.ToolsStatus - filter @ {}

"Config.Template"="False"; "Guest.ToolsStatus"="^ (?. toolsOk $). * $» ; "Name '=' ^ ((? _replica).) * $"} | "

Select-Object Name,@{Name="ToolsStatus; E={$_. Guest.ToolsStatus}}

It worked, thank you very much!

    I just typed this places fast, it should help you get going in the right direction. You will need to tweak it accordingly for your project if

  • Install the Extension with Davide Barranca Installation Script

    Davide Barranca has created a javascript that circumvents Adobe Extension Manager and allows you to create a script that installs extensions, scripts, ect. GO HERE for her.

    My question is, I have two panels I want to install with a script. Davide script lets only a Panel must be installed with the script. Is there a way to have an another javascript executed the first extension of js script and then run the second script extension, so two install scripts are installed with a js script.

    Thanks in advance for your help - Sam

    Hi Sam,

    to work around the problem, you can duplicate the installer.jsx/ASSETS folder and let the first installer.jsx call the second installer after he is done with the first round table, something like:

    $.evalFile(File($.fileName).path + "/installer2.jsx");

    This would basically follow the two installation programs (not very elegant I know!)

    In addition, you can take a look at the beautiful project of Max Penson here: Zxp Installer which is basically its own version native and open source Adobe Extension Manager (incorporation of the Adobe ExManCmd command line utility that has not been abandoned as the GUI version).

    For those living in a cave in the last week, Adobe Extension Manager no longer stand, CC2015, etc. etc. (see: HTML Panel advice #17: CC2015 Survival Guide |) Photoshop, etc.)

    ZXP installer works perfectly, unless you screwed up the ExMan database with the CC one app (I get screwed two and it was a majestic PITA for three days).

    Soon, Adobe killed the extensions Manager, transplanting its nucleus in the CC app + the ExManCmd utility, both based on the same data - Max uses the ExManCmd under the hood of its native application.

    Myself, I spent so many hours did the customer for the extensions Manager, which I personally prefer to use something different now - at least I can blame myself in case something is not :-), but it's just a matter of personal preference.

    I hope this helps!

  • Problem with the CentOS post-installation Script

    Good afternoon

    I use VMware Studio 2.6 to create a couple of CentOS 6.2 VMs.  A virtual machine is perfect, the other does not work it's "Script of post-installation of Application."  I find it a little strange because if I just copy the script from Studio in the virtual machine, it works fine.  But not when I'm deployign the OVF.  What?

    The two CentOS systems are virtually the same.  the only difference is in the FULL domain name and host name lines where I grep for different properties of the FVO.

    Someone has ideas how to debug this?  Thanks in advance.  I've included the script to post below.

    #! / bin/bash
    ###################
    # post.sh sets up a new system with the required configuration
    #
    # post.sh v1.0 - [email protected]
    #
    ###################
    # Variables - from the user entered in the OVF properties
    #
    FQDN = "/ opt/vmware/share/vami/vami_ovf_process - p |" grep new_hostname | "cut-d" "'-f4"
    Hostname = "/ opt/vmware/share/vami/vami_ovf_process - p |" grep new_hostname | cut-d ""'-f4 | cut d. "" - f1 "
    DOMAINNAME = "${FQDN #*.} '"
    IP_ADDR = "/ opt/vmware/share/vami/vami_ovf_process - p |" grep vami.ip0 | "cut-d" "'-f4"

    # Set SELINUX to disabled
    SED 's/SELINUX=.*/SELINUX=disabled/' / etc/selinux/config-i
    echo 0 >/selinux/apply

    # Set the host name
    sed-i "s/HOSTNAME=.*/HOSTNAME=$HOSTNAME/" sysconfig
    sed-i "s/DOMAINNAME=.*/DOMAINNAME=$DOMAINNAME/" sysconfig
    echo '$IP_ADDR $FQDN $HOSTNAME' > > / etc/hosts
    hostname $HOSTNAME
    service network restart

    Hmm. This does not resemble a script of post-installation for me at all. This script is run at the end of the installation, but the VM has not been deployed yet, so the properties of the FVO are likely not useful (they are only put in place at the time of the deployment, for the * user * unit and you do this during the compilation, like the * author * the device.) The network parameters that exist in the envionment of the author are almost certainly not this as an end user * deployment * unit is lilkely to use; their domain, dns, and network addresses certainly not will be yours). Also, you don't mention how this script "failed", that might help narrow down the cause. Look at the debug log and the postinstall.log and see if you can find the real cause of the error. But in all cases, property OVF stuff you make here is not part of the postinstall script. Instead, it looks more like something that belongs in a script firstboot, although VAMI already does most of what you do with networking.

  • Necessary installation script tool

    I'm rolling a form to several clients that will need to have Acrobat Reader XI is installed.

    In addition, it seems that I have to install scripts to the level of folders on their computer as well.

    Ideally, I would like to have a single setup program that does both (installs the player, then my scripts).

    Is this possible or should I force them to two installation process?

    On the installation of Flash Player (n.n.n.179) on Windows XP, I got the following error twice during the installation:Flash_Player_install_error.PNG

    Installation in fact ended, but I got numbers different for the ActiveX version and versions of browser plugin.  I have uninstalled both versions of Flash Player and tried to re - install.  However, the script error is displayed once again, even when it is properly installed (and it does not re - install the ActiveX version at all).  I wonder if it has successfully installed the plugin version, and I know that he has not to install the ActiveX version - I looked in the control panel to verify this.  What is happening and how to fix it?

    I don't know, I've never seen this error.  Try the install (s) offline:

    I need this because I want to use vmware-vim-cmd ommands.

    When the mgmt-vmware restart 'service' is executed, the complete installation stops and is right there.

    When I do a "service mgmt-vmware restart' manully of a session SSH, no problems.

    When I do a "service mgmt-vmware restart' to a console session (HP Iloé) the problem becomes clearer.

    During the restart, the screen moves the "to open a session to the ESX Server...". Press ALT - F1 etc."- screen

    When I press ALT - F1 I re - enter my session again and see the result of the command "service mgmt-vmware restart '.

    But clearly it's killing my script because it cannot continue.

  • Flash Player installation script errors

    Hello

    I have Win XP 32-bit SP3 with IE8.  Adobe has sent me an update to Flash Player a week ago

    and I installed and became errors Adobe in the background every minute 30 or so say she had to complete the process.   XP then asked me if I wanted to send a report to Ms. So I did several times.  I got tired of it and XP I removed the Flash Player.   I went to reinstall it from the Adobe Web site and I keep getting script errors. By reading the forums and suggestions from a multitude of people, that's what I did without success:

    Update XP to the latest patches

    Update Java to the latest version

    It was suggested to run a repair of the registry, then I ran Norton 360 Registry FIx pgm and it comes

    found a file that's not fair.  But it does not look as if it had something to do with this problem

    So, as long as fold forum suggested I can...

    Blocked the Norton 360 Antivirus Auto-Protect utility and downloaded the uninstall program, closed IE8 and run uninstaller from Adobe. No problem.

    Then I rebooted and with Norton 360 Anti virus Auto Protect blocked again tried to reinstall more later (11.3.300.265) but I always get script errors trying to install directly form the Adobe Web site.  He quit the installation and I have to restart if you try to reinstall as it says that a xxxxx can run at a time.

    Suggestions more?

    Thank you.

    More explicit instructions for the link I posted earlier...

    Download the installer of http://helpx.adobe.com/content/help/en/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-Windows.html #main - pars_header and her l' enregistrer save to disk, then close all browser windows and run the downloaded installer.

  • Linux installation - I can not find the installation script

    I'm trying to follow the LabVIEW for Linux installation guide, but I have a problem. This post will be long, as I will try to tell you what I've done so far. I am also kind again on Linux, so I don't know there are a lot of things I don't know.

    I try to use http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/374718a.html#installing

    and http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/375845d.pdf

    First step of the guide is to insert the installation media "' and run

    # sh. / INSTALL

    and it's pretty easy. Or at least it would be if I had no idea where that sh file is. I requested a copy of the installation discs for my University (I install on one of their computers), and they said that while they do not have any what Linux install disks, they were pretty sure "it's here somewhere," whatever that means. This seems to be the extent of their knowledge about linux.

    On this disc is a folder named slcp10 with the content slcp10.cab, slcp10.mis, and slcp200_mft.cab, which are all of the files of windows and as far as I can tell cannot be run under linux, unless I'm using WINE, which is clearly not the way to go.

    I have also some ISOs from the Department of licensing website, but also, no one seems to know anything about installing Linux. After you mount the ISOs, I see that they contain records Bin, Common, Distributions, licenses and Readme (which is full of all kinds of trivial things). They also contain the files academicsitelicense.html, asladminresource.html, autorun.exe, autorun.inf, nisuite.xml, patents.txt, readme_core.html, setup.ede and suite_md5_1.xml, which none do look promising. Again, I know only how to install .exe files using WINE.

    I have since then turned to the internet to try and download directly from OR and went to http://www.ni.com/download-labview/ and selected ' already own LabVIEW? Download the latest version. From there on, I select the drop-down list for alternative OS and select MAC OS x I read somewhere on the help pages OR that it would work on a linux machine (which seems logical, that the MAC is UNIX-based, right?). Well, it gives me a file dmg (apparently some sort of file mac?) I found a way to use Linux by extracting in 7zip and then ride the hfs file. It always seems to be some sort of evaluation program because it contains LabVIEW2014Evaluation.pkg, readme.html (which takes me to the installation of OSX readme-useless), installation_guide.pdf (again, only for MAC and useless for me), drivers.webloc and Extras files and licenses.

    I'm at the end of the roll, man. I feel that I'm taking crazy pills. I've never had so many badly installed a program before in my life, because technically I haven't yet started the process of installing again, and I'm already about to defenestrate from my computer. Please help me. I don't know what else to do, and I don't know there is a very simple solution that I am too ignorant to see.

    Our lab run us windows, and cake installation. After learning Linux over the last months, I never thought I would say this, but in fact, I would like to have a machine windows right now.

    Well, I managed to get installed it, but only because I found another ISO of site licensing department which had linux install files. Curiously, this unique ISO is a bit 3 GB while there are three other ISOs each come at least 7.5 GB. Are there really that many missing packages on Linux?

    Sorry if someone reads this has similar problems, but the best I can do is tell find Linux installation disc.
