VMware fusion 6 - menu of the minibar of vm fullscreen

In earlier versions of VMWare Fusion when you run a full screen of comments I could you hover over top or left side (depending on settings) and get the minibar vmware fusion menu.  Now I can't find the preference, and it does not show.

Where is and how do I get it to reappear so it can be used?

Thank you

Hello

Open VMware Fusion, and in the menu bar to VMware Fusion under the notice, you can set the 'Always show' or "hide automatically and display" Minibar suites whatever your use.

Do you mean the serial number?  In any case restart the Mac and if this does not make a difference then uninstall/reinstall VMware Fusion and restart the Mac later.  Note: VMware Fusion of uninstalling/reinstalling does not remove your Virtual Machines.

I have a MacPro 5.1 I am under ESXi on via a USB key. The MacPro has 4 SATA drives configured as stores of data with VM on some of them.

When connecting to the ESX host through the 'connect to server' Fusion Pro I can see data banks but not the virtual machine.

The virtual machine can be seen on the ESX host, when connecting via SFTP.

  • Please help - my version of VMware fusion is to old to be upgraded. If I buy the new version can I transfer my existing set up?

So I installed my Mac at El Captian & annoyingly my version of VMware fusion (5.0.3) is no longer supported and will not open.

Even more annoyingly VMware fusion offer upgrades to the new version for those who use the version 6 or later.

In any case, big question if I buy the new version is there a way I can still access my current setup?

Would like if someone could let me know. I am self employed & I've got software out there that are vital for work :/

    Hello

Welcome to the VMware communities forum.

There is no problem with the Fusion 8 recognizing of your virtual machines to Fusion 5 (or more), it will go just pick up where you left off.

There are a few borderline cases, as it officially you should have your virtual machines closed and not suspended and preferably without clichés before upgrading to a newer version of the merger. However, in practice I saw real topics with that either.

Note that it is recommended to backup your virtual machines before going any further. Do this by copying them to an external drive (not dependent on time machine for backups of virtual machines) and then disconnect the drive.

You can start using on Fusion 8 for 30 days trial period, simply download it from here:

Try VMware Fusion or Fusion Pro. Run Windows on a Mac without rebooting.

Once it works as you want, simply assign the license to the merger to change it in the full licensed version.

    Hope this helps,

  • Selection of the method of Installation of VMWare Fusion 7

So I take an edx online course: Introduction to computer CS50x. I am following the installation of VMware Fusion instructions found at the following link: https://manual.cs50.net/appliance/2014/fusion/

I followed the instructions in step #4: I double click the icon of VMware Fusion. I clicked on 'Open' when prompted. I typed my administrative password. I accepted the license agreement. I inserted the license key. I am now in the window "select the installation method. But herein is the problem. I do not know what installation method to choose, and there are no instructions on it. My options are: (1) import of disk or image; (2) import existing PC; (3) install OS X from the recovery partition; (4) import a virtual machine existing; (5) installation of Boot Camp. and (6) create a custom virtual machine.  There are no instructions or advice to navigate through these options.

    Assistance would be greatly appreciated.

From what you have posted, it seems to me that the merger has been successfully installed. The dialog box "Select installation method" you see is Fusion trying to be helpful and you guide in the creation of your first virtual machine.

At this stage of VMware Fusion and eject the mounted disk installation image (so that you do not open the installation program when you must open the copy installed on your disk). Continue to step 5 to download your virtual appliance of the format .ova.

  • Sierra and VMWare Fusion 6.0.6 macOS does not?

I just updated my MacBook Pro (mid-2015) for macOS 10.12 "Sierra", and now when I try to start the Simulator BB10, it "just hangs" «forever» (at least as long as I'm patient enough to let stand at least 10 minutes, I'll try letting it sit UAB tonight) with the 'play' button displayed in the window of the program VMWare Fusion 6.0.6.  By clicking on the 'play' button does nothing.  When I try to quit VMWare Fusion, it again me, the Simulator is 'busy' and leaves me not even exit normally.  I managed to force it to leave it in the Apple system menu.

Before that I pay to update my VMWare Fusion to the latest version, can anyone confirm if it (and the rest of the Momentics development system) will continue to operate under macOS 'Sierra '?

    Thank you

    Ed

Well, good and less good news.

Good news, I installed the trial version of VMWare Fusion 8.5.0 on my macOS Sierra system 10.12 and the BB10 Simulator (at least, the latest version 10.3.2.281) works and my application can run on it!

Less good news, it runs * very * slow.

No 1200% slow as the virtualiation equipment turned off, but still slower than it was before.

Just in case someone comes in the future on this issue.

  • Games problem VMware fusion 5.02

    This only happened on 5

hardware: macbook pro 15 mid 2012 retina

    OS: MAC mountain lion 10.8.2

    Audio-visual system: window7 & 8

game: Street fighter iv arcade edition

everything was OK in 5.0 any for win7 or win8,.

After the upgrade to 5.02, I can connect on the menu of the game except for the matches. VMware display an ERROR has occurred.

There have been some problems reported with the 5.0.2 update and I recommend going back to the previous version your used before upgrade to 5.0.2.  You can download previous versions of VMware and then uninstall/reinstall Web Site.

Use the following link: Download VMware Fusion

Then click the watch download button and it will default to the last (5.0.2 now) but now select 5.0.1 or 5.0.0 in the Version drop-down list box.

Also note that VMware Fusion of uninstalling/reinstalling does not remove your VMS and not counting the download time, it should take less than 5 minutes to uninstall/reinstall VMware Fusion itself.  More don't forget to uninstall/reinstall (not repair install)

I am out of the Office right now so I can't check it out but I think that you should be able to simply add across the OS X preferences under the target users account and the file is located in "/ Library/Application Support/VMware Fusion" that starts at the root of the Macintosh HD not in your Home folder.

  • Reported disk size difference - VMware Fusion vs Vista - confused!

If I look at the settings in VMware Fusion I tells me that the guest is 80 GB. If I look at the size of the disk in Vista it tells me that I have 40 Gb (only 3.7 GB free).

Without knowing too much about the subject, it seems to work empty.

I searched posts for discussions on related topics, but I always have the feeling to come to a set of instructions very complicated for the allocated disk space size increassing.

VMware Fusion brings 80GB for the comments, it seems that I don't need to do anything.

I hesitate to start messing around with complicated if instructions that is not necessary.

    Can someone please advise.

    TIA

    Ritch

When you say merger reports the 80 GB drive, you view this setting in the Virtual Machine menu merge request, hard disk--> hard disk settings... command, correct?

Who initially drive 40 GB when you created the virtual machine, and then you've expanded the 80 GB hard drive using the command I mentioned above?

You could do a little easier to help if you provide more complete information in this Document HOWTO: ask (and answer) Questions

If expand you the disk after the initial creation of the Virtual Machine, have you followed all the steps of Vista in this document increase a virtual disk using Fusion 2.0 and Windows Vista?

Depending on your answer to these questions, we can probably offer more help.

  • GPIB-usb-hs on vmware fusion

I am running Windows 7 64-bit on an iMac with OS X 10.6.5 via VMWare Fusion. I installed the driver NOR-488. 2, but can not see my GPIB-USB-HS device. This post: http://forums.ni.com/t5/Instrument-Control-GPIB-Serial/NI-488-2-does-work-on-Windows-XP-Mode-within-... seems to indicate that someone else has had success; his problem was using XP Mode.

Anyone can shed some light on this? Can I expect the combination of the GPIB-USB-HS with Windows 7-64 on VMWare Fusion on an iMac to work?

I also have a USB-6215 is working well.

    Thank you!

    John-

I moved my virtual machine to an OS X 10.6.6 system and things did not work immediately. The GPIB-USB-HS was not visible to the MAX and in Device Manager it looks good, when when I open the property page, he says that there is no driver loaded.

I was able to get the GPIB-USB-HS working by choosing to update the driver through the Device Manager. The steps to do this are:

    1. right click on the GPIB-USB-HS in Device Manager and select "update driver software...". »

    2. Select "Browse my computer for driver software" and then "Let me pick from a list of drivers for devices on my computer.

    3. you must be exactly a GPIB-USB-HS driver to choose. Select it and click Next.

    4. once it finished, view the properties of the device and make you it is said "this device is working properly."

I did the same test for validating a single request with the device, but it seems to work.

Let us know if this helps,
