VMware View 4.5 supported Thin Clients

Does anyone know if VMware maintains a list of clients from different vendors that support view 4.5? If this isn't the case, I would be happy to hear what you use thin clients.

Thank you!

There was once a pdf version, but it is now part of the HCL

  • VMware View 4.6 and vSphere Client performance

    Hello world

    I prepare a demo for VMware View 4.6, a small, with internal disks (3 x 600 GB, 6 GB/s SAS, 10 k RPM RAID 5), network: 100 MB (it was never a problem demos), within IBM x 3650 M3, 32 GB of RAM, 2 x xeon 4 c E5620 2.4 GHz.

There are 3 virtual machines of Windows 2008 R2 (4 GB RAM and 20 GB disks) and 6 virtual desktops (2 GB RAM) and 30 GB drive XP

    In 10 k RPM there is 150 IOPS / s, so 3 drives x 150 = 450 IOPS / s-> 450 / 9 mV = 50 IOPS / s p/vm. I know that if IOPSp/vm is over 30, it's good, so this seems like a good script.

I don't know what should I look to find the cause of poor performance.

VI Client is really slow, and worse even desktop computers.

Can you guide me to find the problem please?

    Thank you!

Your latency of storage time seems a bit high, how the store looks like it? Possible alignment issues?

You have a lot of CPU resources, I'd give workstations an another vCPU.

  • View 4 thin client hardware supports PCoIP

If my thin client is windows-based os, there is no difficulty when we improve the mode 4. But what happens if my thin client is thin-os, such as wyse S10? do I have to replace it with a new model like P20 or seller will provide a new firmware?

    Hi Dingding,

You can still use your existing endpoint hardware after and upgrade to view 3-4 of the view, as RDP is still available as a graphic distance communication protocol in View 4.

If however, you want to upgrade to PCoIP, then you will need to worry about your endpoint equipment.

PCoIP software, you can use VMware View 4 Client for Windows, which runs on Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. (And maybe even Windows XP Embedded)

If you want to use your Wyse with PCoIP devices, you must wait for Wyse provide updated models. The P20 is the only model that Wyse announced so far. Wyse in the future will also support PCoIP on thin BONES.

Here's an announcement from Wyse on PCoIP:

  • Thin client HP t5135 VDI / configuration of VMWare View

I tried to configure my t5135 to be a thin client VDI, but in vain. I'm looking for some idea where I can configure my VDI / VMWare View in this thin client. I tried several configs, but can't seem to get that it connects to my login server, I installed the windows client and it works fine.

    Thank you

    Matt

Had the same problem with the t5145. HP said to allow the direct connection and it should work with vmview. However he has worked with the former client of 2.0 client just couldn't do SSO on. Technology of lvl 2 HP said that he could not do the tunneling using the broker.

  • Use of thin client Sun Ray 3i with view 5

    Hello

I pay project to use these beautiful thin client with view 5, I'd like to, so just know if someone knows how to deal with these beasts the. Because it is there not Windows os type or other embedded.

I thought that it was doable, but comment on...

    Anyway thanks in advance!

    Hi Padua,

I just threw a glance to discover compatibility matrix. A priori the couple discovers 5.x and Sun Ray 3i is well supportati ( http://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/search.php?deviceCategory=vdm and you're looking for Oracle as the partner name).

Then, you can find some info in the docs of Oracle (see Chapter 19):

    Good luck!

  • Error "Failed to connect to the remote computer" VMware View Client

Hello everyone. I'm currently testing the package VMware view, but stuck on a problem, I can't understand.  I have already tried Googling every possible thing, but still came short on what to do.

    Currently I have:

    Server ESXi 3.5

    -vCenter Server

    -Connection to the server

-3 swimming pools installed individual office xp host w/view agents

At the moment, I seemed straight installation because I am able to connect using VMware client/portal with any full blown windows box anywhere in the internal network.  The problem I have is when I try to load the client software VMware view on a HP Neoware e90 box running windows xp embedded.  When I loaded the software and try to connect, I get the address connection server, authentication screen passes, but receives the error "the connection to the remote computer failed" when I try to select one of the desktop images in the list.

I am capable of everything everywhere, ping from thin client to conn. Server, thin client desktop image and vice versa.  I am also able to RDP in the desktop images in the light client area but just can't understand why it won't pass this error above.  I tried to disable the firewall on everything, but it still doesn't seem to work.  Am I missing a simple step or has someone else has encountered this problem before? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

When you have disabled the firewall was that the firewall or service / network level? If it was at the level of the network, then you must disable the service and stop it. If you have the service, then can you get the logs of the client and post them. Often this info can indicate where he is faced with a problem.

  • VMWARE HORIZION VIEW 6.0: it does not serve any which RDS (using PCoIP) session to my zero Teradici Clients but it works with Horizon of VMware View client 3.0.0 from my computer

    Hi all

I'm testing view Horizon 6.0 Service sessions (Windows 2008 R2) RDS through PCoIP. I think that my setup is just because I can connect via Horizion View Client (installed in my laptop or my Android smartphone). But when I try to connect from a Client Tera zero, 1 or 2 (with the latest firmware), at the same time I did logon, I still have this error:

"View server connection has no return of available virtual desktops."

Could someone tell what can be wrong?

    Concerning

As a result of this discussion "Re: RDS support is included in Vmware View (broker)?" I saw that I must spend my customers zero to 4.5.1 firmware. Once I did, Tera 2 Zero Clients work very well but do not have customers zero 1 Tera.

    I expect response from Teradici.

  • Client VMware View Android: how hide the status bar at the top

    Hi all

I'm testing the VMware View Client for Android. A question that bothers me is the status bar I am displayed at the top of the screen. I mean the bar that displays the Logo of VMware View and several icons for the control settings.

Is possible to hide this bar? I have not found a switch in settings or in the official manual. The thing is: I think that it should be possible somehow, as a video YouTube of VMware shows: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85uJqkn-UV4

I'll be grateful for any comments...

After upgrading the client to view to the last version(>2.0), he supports the mode full screen. You can activate it via clicking on the button full screen in the menu of the dock bar.

  • Any thin client with support of 3G connection

I think to connect remote sites using the 3 G connection. So is there any thin client that supports 3G. The right choice is TC and 3G modem is the right choice. The desktop environment is entirely a visualization of VMware VDI.

    Hiiich

Some thin client comes with a USB port. So I think in that there is no problem with the help of the USB modem if you can install the drivers and compatible software. But so far there is no such thin clients, with support from the 3G connection or USB modem. Everything must be based on a LAN or WLAN connection.

  • VMware View Client can 'close' host Windows 7?

Can VMware View Client 4.6 'close' a client Windows 7 physical host device when it is turned on (Thin Client or desktop running Windows 7)? The behavior desired is to let the user simply turn on their thin Client or a desktop computer running Windows 7 Starter Edition or another version of Windows and not Windows desktop appears. The VMware View client connects directly to the broker and then to the VM user login screen? The customer or the user of the Dektop can simply access the connection of the user view not the physical host Windows box?

For XP/XPe installed locally on you thin client, you can change the default shell of Explorer to wswc.exe (Customer View). More information about this you can read here: http://blogs.vmware.com/view/2009/02/vmware-view-client-as-a-shell-for-xpe-and-xp-pro-clients.html

According to me, this thing with some addition settings should work with Win 7.

There is also some proprietary software, for example: http://www.thinlaunch.com/thin-desktop-client.asp

  • Microphone in VMWare View support

    Hello

I'm busy with a proof of concept for VMWare view.  So far, everything was setup and works very well. I am using 4.6 and accommodation view my Win 7 x 64 virtual computer on a Vsphere environment with ESX 4.0 hosts.

I can connect my virtual machine by using the view via a server client to have view. Once connected, sound works fine, I can open the mp3 or youtube and his works in general. Go to Device Manager I see there is a device called VMWare virtual audio (devtap) installed, even if the parameters of the virtual machine via virtual Center displays obviously no audio device.

After starting to play with some of our applications, including Microsoft lync, I noticed that I can't make audio calls to other customers Lync, probably because there isn't any microphone support here. I tried to do the same thing from a computer with audio output thinclient / mic Jacks, but get the same result. Is there a kind of driver which allows for emulation of micro as is currently used for emulation of sound card to see?

The virtual audio device supports only audio output. There are two routes you can go down:

    1. use the USB redirection with a USB headset feature and use your audio device for applications requiring audio in

    2. install the Audio driver virtual Teradici on your virtual machines, which is supported by Teradici rather than VMware: http://techsupport.teradici.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=15164&task=knowledge&questionID=421

  • VMware View 4.5 Client slow in WAN

    Hello

We tested VMware View 4.5 Client in WAN and it seems to be slow.

Not too big gap between RDP and PCoIP.

How much bandwidth needed a client VMware View 4.5 normally, a normal desktop, non-multimedia user?

    Thanks Mike,.

Here are some notes more - in addition to sizing guidelines, it may be wise to adapt some of the PCoIP session variables - see the knowledge base article http://techsupport.teradici.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=15164&task=knowledge&questionID=348Teradici.

In addition, for MPLS to check if the load balancing has been configured for the link?  Per packet load balancing results in fragmented packets that should not be used with PCoIP Protocol.  If you need load balancing MPLS consider using instead the load balancing and the destination.

If you have not already done so, do not hesitate to ask the team to Teradici - you can send an email to [email protected].
