vmxnet3 compatibility w/32-bit rhel4

Curious about the compatibility between the driver VMXnet Gen3 and RHEL4 32-bit.  Can't find documentation on it.  Pointers would be appreciated.

Go ahead and install the equipment.  If you're worried, see the web site of the manufacturer to ensure that you have the latest version of the driver there (it may be newer than the driver on the CD that came with the hardware).

You won't see a lot of products these days with the Windows XP logo on them because Windows XP is no longer sold by Microsoft and the hardware vendors are focusing on Windows 7.

The list of hardware compatibility XP (or what was her last name) seems to have disappeared from microsoft.com, but the following information of theversion of Windows 7 is basically the same as it was for XP:

The "Compatible" green check icon means the manufacturer of the device or software that this product works with 64-bit or 32-bit Windows 7. Generally, you won't need to do anything to ensure compatibility, and you will see "no action is needed" below "Compatible" on the product details page. However, if a manufacturer or Publisher offers or requires additional software or a newer version, you will find a link to what you need and see the details to the right of the link. Please note that these products have not been "Compatible with Windows 7" Logo program compatibility testing In addition, consult the manufacturer or the site of the Publisher for more information.

"Compatible - Windows 7 Logo" means that this product meets requirements for compatibility with 64-bit and 32-bit Windows 7 from Microsoft. To get the "Compatible with Windows 7" logo, software and hardware must pass tests installation, performance, reliability, and security of Microsoft designed so you can be sure that these products are compatible with Windows 7.

Almost always, if the manufacturer says that its product is "compatible with" a version of Windows, it is safe to install.

If a program is not compatible with a 64-bit version of win you can make it compatible.

  • 11.5.10 and would increase from 32-bit linux

A few left Physics for VM and one of the movements is to our instance static 11i (used for the statement now).
My plan was to just use cold backup and restores (never installation rman) and then use quick clone for the fire on the new servers using the new host names.
Now, I realize the old servers were new default servers created on HR 5 64-bit and 32-bit RHEL4.

I'm sure I can't just fire on a 64 bit OS without making extra work as import/export on the database.
Application server don't know what I would do as libraries etc. are also different.

My thought is to get servers rebuilt using RH5 32 - bit and if all goes well, everything should work as long as the packages are here.
Sound right or should I just go with what it works now (RHEL4) to be on the safe side.

  • 64 bit trouble...

We had adjustments to 2998 obtaining Windows server R2 runs in our vSphere environment. We keep getting an error when trying to install Win 2 k 8 R2 - CPU incompatible.

After doing some research, we found that it had to enable VT in the bios of the host. So we made sure all of our guests had turned it on (and actually makes that we could use... enhanced vmotion).

We always receive the error when you try to install Win 2 k 8. So in my research I found a utility to create a bootable CD that you can put in hospitality and information regarding the CPU and their compatibility with 64-bit. I ran on one of our guests and received a message that says:

"VT is not supported on this system due to an incompatible mix of features VT on different processors."

Also in the journal, we found that CPU brand channels indicate:

-intel processor Xeon e5310... location 1 and

-intel Xeon processor L5310... bin 2

In addition, he indcates what follows for each location:

BIN1: family: 06 model: strengthening of the 7

    BIN2: family: model 06: b Ford

We had 3 guests each with 1 cpu (quad core) and later the improved 2-processor (quad core). We have had no problems to run things (except increased vmotion would it turns out that VT is not enabled on the host only). but let's assume that something in the deepening of the CPU is the question, but all searches the message «VT no is not supported on this system...» "have led to NO result, I wonder if anyone can shed some light on this situation for us.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Intel microcode update should be included as part of the latest version of the BIOS available from Dell.

    Hello

    (1) cant we make any changes to compatibility and 32-bit installation on a 64-bit machine?
lol we can make no changes to compatibility.

    (2) my machine is Windows Server 2003 sp2 x 64.
Is it support obiee11g 11.1.1.5.0 latest version

    (3) should we only use software 64-bit for the 64-bit server computers, cant, we use a 32-bit software?

Software OBIEE11g of 32 bits can not support on windows 64-bit server that is why they gave separte software of obiee11g install page.kindly check the certification metrix obiee11g

Please refer to the matrix of Certification available from:
    http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/BI-Enterprise-Edition/bi-11gr1certmatrix-166168.xls

    (4) do we need to only install the software, we cant, install company?

If your using just a single application server obiee11g with 64 bit windows better to go with the 'only software installation option.

and if your having muliple server then (main, subserver in your production box), you can choose scall business installation option.

I'd go with the 64-bit operating system as I don't want to end up with limited memory for levels of application/database (as explained in the answer to Q1 in this thread).

  • Video problems and a green screen

    Hello

I read the questions and answers on this topic, but some things work and others do not.  For example, I was able to solve one of my problems with some other fixes I found through online forums General for the 'green' screen that plays with the audio only.  It seems to work for me on you tube but not on Facebook more videos alhtough Facebook worked the first time when I rebooted.

What I did get into my internet options and under accelerated graphics that I checked use software rendering instead of...

and on the Security tab, I checked activate 64-bit processes in increased protected...  It Enhanced protected mode should as well then?  Should I check this option.

I also treid to do what the responses recommended... as a right click on the video on Facebook when he plays and then I get a pop up I get the settings options or global settings and adobe flash player info... by clicking on settings gives me options but none for "screen", only for my microphone, camera and storage.  If I click on global settings, need me to flash player help.  And the last option, I get my version of Adobe info, which is version 13.00.214.  So no option to uncheck the box disable accelerated graphics cause I think I already did this in Control Panel.

But why is working with youtube and videos from Facebook that I also tried to play videos as wmv and other video files files in my windows media player flash and then I get a screen black but still audio not play now.

My computer is a HP Pavilion Notebook PC and it came with Windows already installed 8.1.  My graphics card is a Radeon R5 AMD graphics card.

So what the devil now.  Should I install more recent Adode Player?  Even by unchecking the option graphis accelerated, this isn't really a solution for the deeper problem and the question, because then it slows down your graphics card?

My computer is not even a week and I hate having to always download the patches and constant updates and spend hours searching for and trying to solve a problem that really should not appear in a first time.  Why are there so many problems with Windows?  Is this a problem with windows updates as well.  Active X controls?  Isuses of compatibility with 64-bit processes.  Can I use Firefox.  I did with my old HP, which finally launched the bucket and that's why I had to buy a new one.  I had to replace my battery before a year and my warranty battery lasted that long either and then the thing finally overheated and died.  But I had a lot of similar things happen before with the last HP laptop if it's Windows or is it HP or is it browsers, readers?

I'm sorry if I'm unloading on you... I want too much, but it's so frustrating as a consumer of always having to go through such things.  I use my laptop to work on his own account so please help!

Thanks for letting me vent...  I'd appreciate your help, thank you.

    A frustrated customer

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I'm sorry you're having problems.  I looked into your problem with video problems.

    You have uninstalled Internet Explorer?

    Have you tried Google Chrome?

It already includes Adobe® Flash® Player built-in. Google Chrome automatically updates when new versions of Flash Player are available. Adobe are on version 15. Here'sa place to update. It has a link to Google Chrome as well.

Here is a link to common problems of Flashplayer.

I would try a system restore because this could undo any change that could happen with an update from Microsoft. Sometimes they have not completed or installed on the laptop.

    Hope this helps you.

    Thank you.

  • Windows Vista XP Home Upgrade generates blue screen errors

I bought a copy of Windows Vista Home Premium (32 bit), about a year ago and I tried the upgrade to XP Home Edition Service Pack 2, and whenever I update another problem arises. The problems vary from the "Blue Screen of Death" to updates refusing to install, Vista freeze thoroughly, I'm at my wits end! Please if there is anything that can be done to solve this problem for a long time I'll be forever in your debt. I'm doing something wrong or is there something more sinister at play? I reinstalled XP and Vista at least 20 times so far, and that once he was impeccable, but due to a virus I had to reinstall it again and I'm at square one, also my x 86 Vista Software recognizes only 3.50 GB of my 4 GB memory.

    My system Spec:

    ASRock N68C-S UCC Motherboard

AMD Phenom X 2 Multi-Core 3.1 GHz Black Edition Proccessor

320 GB Maxtor DiamondPlus SATA HDD

160 GB Seagate Barracuda SATA HARD drive

    4 GB Kingston ValuRam DDR3 1066 MHz

    LiteOn DVD-RW/CD-RW

Sapphire ATI Radeon 5570 1 GB graphics card

    Hello

System memory shown in the system information dialog box in Windows Vista is less than expected if the 4 GB of RAM is installed

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929605

This behavior is the expected result of some hardware and software factors.

Various devices in a typical computer require memory-mapped access. This is known as memory-mapped i/o (MMIO). For the MMIO space is available for 32-bit operating systems, the MMIO space must reside in the first 4 GB of address space.

For example, if you have a video card that has 256 MB on-board memory, that memory must be mapped in the first 4 GB of address space. If 4 GB of system memory is already installed, the part of this address space must be reserved by the graphics memory mapping. Graphics memory mapping replaces part of the system memory. These conditions reduce the total amount of memory available to the OS System.

The reduction in available system memory depends on the devices that are installed in the computer. However, to avoid potential driver compatibility issues, 32-bit versions of Windows Vista limit the total available memory to 3.12 GB. See the section 'More information' for more information on potential driver compatibility issues.

If a computer has many features implemented, the available memory can be reduced to 3 GB or less. However, the maximum memory available in 32-bit versions of Windows Vista is typically 3.12 GB.
