  I meet a strange bug. In my code, I use a Subvi to control a piece of hardware. The Subvi has commands for all functions of my hardware.

  I changes the value of one of these controls in my main façade by running a reference to a button on my main façade in the Subvi, grabbing the value of the button with a property node, then update the value of the Subvi control using a node property signage.

  This works very well when my Subvi front is open, but does not work the Subvi front closing.

  I am new to labview, so any help is appreciated.

  I have a strange problem.

  • This problem takes place only after construction of an application using LV 8.6 Application Builder Professional version, and I installed it on the target computer. It occurs when you run the development system.
  • When I load the program on the target computer, one of the panels before Subvi used in the application appears at the top of the façade of the vi main.
  • The Subvi should never appear on the front panel at any time during the exicution program.
  • It happens to be Spreadsheet.vi writing that belongs to the standard library of vi.
    • I checked all calls to this sub - VI to check that there not be changed to make it load or appear when loading of the vi main.
    • It is called 4 different times during the exicution program but in no case is it set to display the front panel.

  Someone has seen this and if so what was the solution?

  Problem solved.  I copied the writing to Spreadsheet.vi from another computer.  Then, I went into the program and replaced vi in each place they called him.  The program now works as expected.

  During the execution of the Sub vi, I want the stop button in the main vi take effect immediately, which means the sub vi must stop immediately.

  I know that I can exchange data between screws somehow by a call to reference, but all the examples I found, to transfer data from the sub to the main vi vi, but I want the other way around.

• Using c# to check if the main report contains a sub report in the Crystal Reports Viewer

  I currently have a web form application, which displays a crystal report already created using the crystal reports Viewer. In this report, the format is a few pages of the main report, followed by a few pages of the report of void. However, when the user first opens the application, all they see is the main report. Unless they click on the subpage of report the report viewer do not recognize as one of void, even if the user is on the page of report of void.

  I was wondering if there are ways to use the c# code to check if some pages of the main report contains a report without user sup a goes through each page of the report?

  I have a little difficulty with my VI.

  I run a sub my main façade of VI VI.

  The sub VI opens, but when it is closed all of the controls on the front of my main VI is no longer active (buttons etc. not clickable).

  I put counters on the iteration of loop terminals so I can see that the program is still ongoing, some controls no longer work.

  Someone has encountered this before and offer all the solutions?

  Sorry sub VI is located in the loop of the selection of the files offline at the bottom of the block diagram.

  After playing with it for hours last night, I seem to have sorted by deselecting the option "front lock Panel" starting from the properties of structure of event!

  For each of the subVIs open the VI, access the properties of VI (CTRL + I is the Expressway), go to the appearance of the "tab" window, select default.

• Structure of the event in primary vi and sub - VI with queues

  Hi all

  I have an application that uses the architecture of producer-consumer in which a queue transmits messages of a main VI by a Subvi, in response to the events of the user in the front panel. Inside the Sub VI, the queue is removed and treaty based on the corresponding message, and the result is displayed on the façade the sub of VI. User events are captured in the main VI using a Structure of the event. This works as expected.

  However, I also the controls on the Panel before the sub - VI to change the queue. My approach is to have another structure of the event in the VI sub for this. However, while the events in the main work of fine VI, events of sub - VI never treated.

  A simplified sandbox VI of what I'm trying to do is attached. As you can see, the main VI events are triggered as expected, but events in the sub VI are never triggered.

  I watched this white paper: detect an event in a Subvi from a high level VI , but it's not exactly what I'm trying to do. Instead, I'm just trying to detect an event generated within the Subvi. I searched this forum and found some research related, but none of them seemed to answer what I'm trying to do.

  Your major issue here is the loop location.  While the structure should be inside the Subvi to make a message in the appropriate queue manager.  In fact, you should have 2 loops within your Subvi: 1) the QMH and (2) of the event loop.  You must use a user event to congratulate the event loop in the Subvi to stop.  You should NOT use the time-out of the Structure of the event unless you absolutely must.  And since everything in the Subvi is the message function, you do not have expectations.  They will be inactive (no CPU using) when there are no items to process from the queue or queue.

• Multiple front (floating) in labview application

  I am trying to build a multi-window application. My goal is to be able to have several floating windows open simultaneously, allowing all user input.

  My problem is, when I open a new floating window, I can click more buttons is in the other windows.

  I have attached a simple example of what I'm trying to do. The Main.vi has two parallel loops and two structures of the event. A loop has the purpose to execute the Sub.vi after a click of a button. The other loop performs some functions when the other buttons are clicked. Since these loops run in parallel, I think I can communicate with the two VI when the front panels are open.

  What I'm missing here?

  There is an option in each case of the event that is set to true by default: defer before Panel updates until that end case of event.  What does that mean?  When you click on the button to open the Subvi, this case of event cannot be completed until that VI is running.  As the case of the event is incomplete, your main façade is actually locked (unable to do updates).

  In general, you should really only have 1 structure of the event in a VI.  What you need to do here, is to use the asynchronous call start to run an instance of your Subvi without interrupting the flow of your main VI (it will be truly parallel to the rest of your code).

  And you really should put the buttons of closure in the case where the case change event that manages their respective value.  It will allow the rear lock occurs.
