Volume icon does not

I have a brand new Acer Aspire V3 - 572G. Its been a little lemon so far, but I'll give the benefit of the doubt for just a little longer I'm not particularly tech-savvy then maybe the problem is me. Yesterday the volume (on the bar at the bottom of the screen) icon has stopped working altogether. I can press it with the cursor and it changes color in as it should when you click on something... BUT nothing comes... no sound/volume control thing I can adjust. I know I can use the function key and the arrows, but it's just tedious, and for a brand new computer, I expect things to work. Can someone help me with this problem? Is it me, or the computer? TIA

try to install the audio drivers and see if the volume bar appears.

    Use this tutorial:

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/106787-notification-area-system-icons.html

    The tutorial has 3 methods.

Method is a general method which, unfortunately, rarely works because the box, you need to check is grayed out (unclickable).

Two method is only for Vista Ultimate and Enterprise.

Three method applies to all versions of Vista.
Use the Reg file download. It is simple and easy.

    * Make sure that you restart the computer to perform the procedures.

  • Sound does not work on the computer and the volume icon does not appear in the system tray.

Original title: my sound icon has disappeared from the taskbar.  The Control Panel indicates the sound is on, but I can't hear anything.  What happened and how do I get my sound back?

Have a Toshiba laptop that always displays the lower icon audio in the right hand of the screen.  The sound icon has disappeared and I can't hear anything.  I check Contol Panel and sound, and he says it works and is turned up... but I can't hear a thing.  How can we retrieve icon of audio and how I can hear sound?

    Hello

    Thank you for your response.
I did a "System Restore" and the icon reappeared, and the sound now works.
I restarted the computer a couple of times, but that does not solve the problem.  Also, I went into the Panel and checked to see if the speakers were working and were lit, and they were.
It wasn't until I did the restore of the system that the icon reappeared and the noise began to work again.
    Thank you.

Have you tried a double click on the file:
    C:\Windows\System32\sndvol32.exe

Have you tried to bring up the Device Manager
    Start-> Run-> "devmgmt.msc".
Then, look under "sound, video and game controllers".
to see if there is a problem with your sound card or driver?

Have you tried to look at your log files for errors related to your sound?

  • Satellite A300-129 - Sound is mute and icon does not

    Hi all

I am trying to turn on the sound of my Satellite A300-129 after I cut it a couple of days, but the icon does not respond.
When I click on the right button of the mouse, I can go to sounds etc, but "open volume Mixer" is not responding or the other. I also tried to restart the laptop a couple of times, but that did not help.
What can I do? Your help will be very appreciated.

    > How do I do that safely without the risk of losing her forever?

LOL you don't lose anything forever. : D in the worst case you have to reinstall the OS using the Toshiba recovery disc.

Access to Device Manager-> mark the sound card-> with the delete key-> restart the laptop

After restarting again the audio driver needs to be reinstalled again and should detect the sound card.

  • Scrolling and volume bar does not not on my Pavillion dv7, model US notebook dv7-3060

I have a Pavilion dv7, model: dv7-3060US notebook.  I upgraded my OS from Win 7 Home Premium to Win 7 Ultimate.  Since the upgrade, scrolling on the Touchpad, (is is not off,) no longer works.  More, the touch volume control does not work properly.  The small speaker above the keyboard icon does not turn orange when the sound is muted and the volume on the screen bar no longer displays when you adjust the volume.

I saw other models with the same issue, but have not found an ad for my particular model.  Where can I find a solution to this problem

    Hello

With regard to the volume bar, follow these steps.

Download IDT Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp48501-49000/sp48830.exe

One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the IDT device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

When finished, restart the computer and let Windows load completely.  Open your download folder, right-click on the IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  When this has completed, restart the computer again.

Question for the TouchPad, first download the latest program install Synaptics driver from the link below and again, Save in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp49001-49500/sp49392.exe

Then, open windows control panel, open programs and features, right click on the entry "Synaptics Pointing Device Driver" and choose uninstall.

When this has completed, restart the laptop.

When windows has completely recharged, open your download folder, click with the right button on the setup of Synaptics and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  When this has completed, restart the computer again.

Now, follow the process under the heading "Setting horizontal and vertical scrolling" detailed in the link below.

    Configure the TouchPad.

    Kind regards

  • The document _ is on a volume that does not support the permanent version storage.  You will not be able to access older versions of this document once you close.

I recently started getting this strange message, usually when a Pages document is closed:

«The document _ is on a volume that does not support the permanent version storage.»  You can access older versions of this document once you close. »

All my research (apple.com and on the internet) have not enabled all the information on this message.

    Hi Larry,

The 'volume' is a hard disk, a partition on a hard drive or a storage as a USB device.

OS X automatically saves your document frequent while you work on it. If the volume of the device / it records on a summer formatted to allow 'versioning', you will be able to use Time Machine to open previous versions of your document. If it has not been formatted like that, you get the message see you, and only the current version of the document will be saved.

    Kind regards

Hello. My Bookmark star icon does not read my favorites. I can always use it to record the new bookmarks, but I don't see the 'old'. My Favorites are still there, but the star remains white when I open them and shows them as not saved. Thanks in advance for any help!

I used speed dial for a long time, both on my desktop and my laptop, and I really like it. Recently, I got a new office and installed the latest version of Firefox. Everything seems to be working well, but when I try to add Speed Dial, it appears to install correctly, but the icon does not appear in the menu bar.
