  • After the upgrade to PSC 6.0, a request error 400 appears when you access the URL by default of tenant, https://FQDN_VA/vcac, car port 7444 is no longer valid in check SSO in the vRealize virtual device *.
    The error message, trying to remote access SSO on vra - va - hostname.domain.name and port 7444 host but the host returned is vra - va - hostname.domain.name and port 443 appears when you try to re-register the Virtual Appliance to the upgraded PSC 6.0 on the Virtual Appliance.

  I have a vRA environment 7 with vRA HA devices that have integrated the vRO. I want vRO to an Active/Passive configuration, but when I do the load balancer declares the node with the vRO vRA Eve out of service.

  It seems that between 6.2 and 7 that VMware has changed the vRA health check to watch/vcac/service/api/health instead of/vcac/services/api/status. This new target now fail because it shows a service as in offline mode. While it is fairly clean and is probably better than the old health check, it kills the idea of an active configuration / standby vRO.

  Any ideas on how I can get around this? Thank you!!

  The problem that you are facing is that devices of internal load balancing is managed by HAProxy. I don't have * think * that it promotes health checks, this is why active/active approach for vRO. I suspect that if you want to use Active/passive, you will need to switch to external devices.

  which means, Java is not installed/set up correctly or not accessible for the user is installing.

  You need:

  64-bit JRE (not x 86) installed on the Windows machine and successfully added to JAVA_HOME of the computer, so that each user (or at least, the user that ins Setup) to run java.

  A reboot of the windows machine may be necessary after installing java

  The wizard is supposed to handling everything, but something is wrong in your case.

  I have a hot tip from another thread that this does not happen for internal VRO. For external VRO, it is question of certificate.

  I was using the IP address of vCenter Terminal, instead of the FULL domain name. After using the FULL domain name, it is not a problem.

• Auto deploy a Post Install Actions

  I'm trying to find a good solution which will create a VM to a model as a post install activity after a 5.5 ESXi host is created via Auto deploy.  Here's the general idea...

  Bare metal-> ESXi (deployed self)-> create Virtual Machine (s)

  The whole process needs to be automated.  Power on the host, ESXi installed, created virtual machines... done.  I thought that vRealize Automation (VRA) that comes with vCenter might be the way to go, but I don't know how would be VRA called/activated at the end of the auto deploy processes.  Are there other options?

  I was talking with a guy on IRC #vmware and he stressed the vRealize Auto deploy plugin which can be the way to go.  Post the link here in case someone else needs it...

• HTTPS status 502 message observed when we sail to vRealize device to connect tenant infrastructure tab

  I'm new to vCAC and I am facing problem while connecting to the vRA (6.2) with the credentials of the tenant.

  Created the tenant in VRA device and tried to connect using the credentials of the tenant, I'm able to connect properly, but pointed out the error message 502 status HTTPS in the Infrastructure page.

  Also notes the message errror following in the vRA device event log before you create the tenant as follows.

  "request to vCO has failed: error: 404: no icon for the Module"RPProvisionVCAC"

  The target ID for this error is: " " https://Vcac.VRA.com:8281/vco/api "where we have seen the Page not found error "

  I don't know whether the error crashes me to add the license to the tenant.

  Please help me on how to proceed for the tenant to license and adds the identifying information for the endpoint with vRA 6.2.

  We did not face this problem while configured vCAC 6.0.1 only on vRA 6.2

  Yes, I fixed this problem by adding my server entry (where I am accessing this device of vRA) from Windows in the DNS server.

  After that I'm able to license and continued my process.

  The logical address is used comes from server to Server HTTP communications. You will not see the questions until you use a feature like LCM requiring a server to server communication.

  Through the vRA GUI I can create groups of companies with the same names in different tenants as follows:

  Tenant1: BusGroup1, BusGroup2, BusGroup3

  However, to create business groups with the same names in different tenants via the vRO, specifically the workflow plugin Library / vCloud Automation Center / Administration / Business groups / create a group of companies, fails in the second tenant with the below error:

  If I change the naming convention to be different by tenant, then I have no problem. I thought it might be a restriction in the product, but as said I was able to create with the names of same origin through the user interface.

  This is a known problem within IaaS API the plugin vRO uses to manage groups of companies through business groups workflows. You don't have the same problem of the vRA UI because the user interface (according to the 6.x) does not use the same API IaaS to manage groups of companies.

  The only alternative to 6.x for now is to directly use the helper generic entity Manager plug-in itself. You can take a look at the first example in example CRUD Infrastructure tasks management Scripts.

  I'm trying to find how to change programmatic policy booking and the storage policy on vCAC:Virtualmachine as part of a 'class of Service change' day 2 vRA Action via vCO. This should include Storage vMotion to a different cluster DTS/store data and/or reassign VM in a storage policy different vSphere (similar to market Cloud management |) Solution Exchange).

  I had a quick glance at various approaches, including Cloud Management Marketplace | Solution Exchange but the result does not change policy of booking of virtual machines, and in most of the scenarios after the migration to alternative storage VC:VirtualMachine, there are differences when displaying or changing the properties of the VM in vCAC (e.g. to change the VM - can not see the drive to edit). Is there understood after forcing an update of the synchronization/inventory vCAC.

  I can see there are a number of properties VM vCAC needed change, and - assuming it's possible - I understand the best way to achieve the above, keeping the vCAC model compatible with the new location of storage/VM compute in vSphere:

  If you're wondering how I would do...

  I like simple. Simple is easy to administer, troubleshoot, update and change in the future. With this in mind:

  1. turn all possible storage levels in the reserve.

  2. set a custom property for the layer 'by default'.

  3. set the action two days to allow a change of 'service level' and attach it to a policy on approval so that it has not used willy nilly.

• VRA 6.2 REST API: resource Action with object mapped by VRO

  I created a resource Action (Advanced Services - resources Actions) who calls a workflow orchestrator (VRO) to do a few things.  The VRO workflow takes three objects as inputs: 2 channel and a VC:VirtualMachine.  Connecting the web GUI, when a user selects the action for the specific virtual machine, they are presented with a form asking to specify the content of the 2 strings.  The VC:VirtualMachine object is transparant and (I think) is automatically mapped internally to the enabled virtual machine.  This works very well at the launch through the web GUI.  Now, I need to create the same scenario using the REST API.  I created the "ResourceActionRequest" object JSON and included the 2 strings as indicated in the request data, but I have no idea how to do to add the VC:VirtualMachine object to the request.  I thought maybe it was too transparent, but I get an error if I try to send the JSON without the 3rd data item.  For example, here is my "ResourceActionRequest" object JSON:

  Has anyone tested vRA 6.2 plugin on vCO (vRO) 5.5.1?

  When I install the plugin plugin said vCACCAFE will carry out the installation at the next startup of the server. but never install after several reboot.

  The installer: We have multiple vCenters each with their own SSO. Building on a vRA 6.2 Distributed Lab (based on deployment in the 6.1 reference architecture) to validate our production plan and decided to use the identity.

  Question: For a production buildout there is no reason not to use the device of the identity (scalability, performance, lack of HA)? If you are using vSphere SSO, when there are multiple vCenters one that should be used for SSO of vRA? If that vSphere SSO is never removed (say on the whole things are replaced by a central SSO for all vCenters rather than each on their own, or some issue needs to be rebuilt) is there a clean way to repoint SSO vRA without a reconstruction?

  What I did in this case is to build a fresh cluster SSO using vCenter SSO and pointing vCAC on this one. It becomes my main source of SSO and I slowly vCenters point and other components to it overtime. You usually put vCAC SSO signed certificates and generally I find people vCenter SSO deployment in this way. To remedy this trying to modify an existing SSO vCenters and risk having to reinstall your VC because you missed the CERT, simply create a new. This also alleviates a changing overtime vCenter and spoil the vCAC SSO. The unit of identity cannot be clustered or joining existing areas of SSO. So if you are looking for HA and scale which probably does not cut it.
