vRA 7: status of the Agent VRM HTTP 401: unauthorized

Hi guys,.

I googled a lot now and have not found anything useful for me.

I have configured the vRA and now I had a problem with my vCenter Agent. I checked my credentials from a hundred times, did a reinstall of the IaaS server and checked every single property in my IIS.

But still get the connection error:

Connection error in [https://iaas/sdk], details of the error: the request failed with HTTP 401 status: unauthorized

A few facts to my configuration:

vRA device and IaaS Server are in the same subnet, all necessary ports open. I use a systemaccount AD (connection as batch, log into the Service, a local administrator on the IaaS)

Here the lates entry in the agent log:

You should the vCenter endpoint address not the address of the VRA machine.

    According to state that something is wrong. The test server is currently installed OEM Database Control. The directions said nothing about not being able to install Cloud control and have control OEM database.

    My question is this: can I have the OEM Database Control and control of Cloud? If this is not the case, what should I do to get the Cloud control to work?

    I opened a support ticket with Oracle. It was that the firewall is blocking communication from the SGD server to the agent. Everything works now as expected.

  • the agent versions report

    Is there a report that lists the versions of Appassure Agent running in an environment?

    THX

    Hi Alice,.

    There is no report, but you can use the API to get the version of the agent

    https://[core IP]: 8006/apprecovery/api/base/agents / [agent id] / metadata

    To get the IDs of the agents, you can use next API call

    https://[core ip]: 8006/apprecovery/api/base/agents.

    Here is the example of the Powershell script to show agents version

    $ids = call restmethod "https://[Core IP]: 8006/apprecovery/api/base/agents / ' - GET method - usedefaultcredentials

    for ($i = 0; $i - lt $ids.agents.agent.count; $i ++)

    {

    $link = "https:// [Core IP]:8006/apprecovery/api/core/agents/"+$ids.agents.agent[$i].id+"/metadata"

    $metadata = call restmethod $link - GET method - usedefaultcredentials

    $output = $metadata.agentMetadata.hostName + ":" + $metadata.agentMetadata.version._Major + "." + $metadata.agentMetadata.version._Minor + "." + $metadata.agentMetadata.version._Build + "." + $Metadata.agentMetadata.version._Revision ".

    $output

    }

    Output of the script will be

    Host name: Version

    NOTE: in the script used "-usedefaultcredentials" parameter. This is Dell-AppAssure based credentials. If Powershell isn't running for admin you must specify administrative credentials.

    NOTE: The request may fail with the "the underlying connection was closed: could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS.

    That indicates topics with certificate validation.

    You can disable the validation of certificate with order

    [System.Net.ServicePointManager]: ServerCertificateValidationCallback = {$true}

  • question about the deployment of the agent / agent.properties

    Hello

    I need to create a simplified agent deployment mechanism.
    Basically, I'm in an environment of the seller.
    I don't have access to the entire area where the agent must be installed and I can't use ssh / key mechanism.
    But still I want to reduce human intervention to a minimum.

    So I created my own tgz, including an agent.properites.
    agent.setup.camIP = x.x.x.x
    agent.setup.camSSLPort = 7443
    agent.setup.camSecure = yes
    agent.setup.camLogin = hqadmin
    agent.setup.camPword = xxxxxxxx
    agent.setup.agentIP = * default *.
    agent.setup.agentPort = * default *.
    agent.setup.resetupTokens = yes

    Please note that I've changed resetupTokensto Yes.

    But that's what I'm not sure. It seems to work. install the tgz and just run the script initialization and everything good, but will be him renegotiate a new token each time?

    Is it possible to have a sort of pre generated token that I could integrate into the tgz?
    tell genereate the token on the server and then copy it in everywhere wherever he goes?

    Thank you
    Ben

    Hey Ben,

    I'm a new technical writer Hyperic. I work on documentation of installation/configuration of new or improved and scouring the user forum so I can understand what lack us in the current literature.

    Don't know if this will help, but here is my understanding of the mechanism of token.

    The token is generated the first time that the Agent starts, regardless of the setting of agent.setup.resetupTokens.   Setting and let this property to 'Yes' will cause a new token to be generated whenever the Agent is started.  It would be useful if, for some reason, a token got corrupted or deleted.

    I'm not aware of any way to manually generate a token.

    There is a doc page that attempts to address about reducing the user intervention required for the deployment of the agent here: http://support.hyperic.com/display/DOC/HQ+Agent+Deployment. I did not approve this content yet, so consider it "FWIW.

    Hi Bala,

    Assuming that the 'D:\Oracle\agent12c' is the base directory of the EM12c agent install to start the agent:

    -Go to the directory D:\Oracle\agent12c\agent_inst\bin

    -Run the command:. \emctl start agent

    You can also start the agent by using the Windows service created for the agent during installation. For instructions, see the following doc:

  • Failed to start the computer over HTTP: Error 1000

    I'm testing an upgrade from version 2.9 to 2.10 so I can upgrade our 6.0u2 ESXi hosts to solve the problem of multiple appstacks slow attachment.  However, I get this error on half of my offices.  I tried both 2012R2 and for the administration server 2008R2.  It is installed with local SQL.  Desktop computers are Windows 7, floating pool linked clone.  Looks like that in the beginning it shows a "HttpInitializeRequest: status response 200 Manager (2 bytes) ': OK ' but try again"computer startup on HTTP failed: Error 1000 ".  Once virtualization fails is disabled and no appstacks cling.

    I have logs from two desktop computers, a successful failure:

    Just curious, it's someone else is seeing this with 2.10 and if you have, how solve you this problem?

    If you are using some kind of power management on the VDI? It seems as if the machine is unable to reach the HTTP Appvolumes service for any reason any newspaper which shows success connects withion a fraction of a second if the server doesn't seem to be to busy.

    Maybe you try to join an appstack that has some sort of firewall inside rule?

    Hi Melissa,

    You can check if this particular agent runs on a Certified version of 64-bit Solaris Sparc (Solaris Sparc 9, 10u9 and 11). If the OS is Solaris Sparc10, make sure that it is on the 9 update. It was reported on similar symptoms, including bugs, 14474521 and 12745346, that have been fixed after upgrading the OS to Solaris Sparc 10 update 6 to Solaris Sparc10 Update 9.

    Kind regards

  • A host is not on the list of targets after the agent is installed correctly.

    We assume that:

    «You cannot add host targets or objectives of Agent using the Grid control pages.» Instead, these types of targets appear automatically in the control of the grid after the Oracle Management Agent installed on a host computer. »

    And so far had been true.

    However, I have a problem with the installation of an agent. Despite be installed correctly and communicate with the agent, it is not displayed in the target list.

    Any ideas?

  • Satellite A660 - Tempro alerts and the status of the guarantee

    I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite A660. Windows 7 64-bit.
    First Tempro worked but I have not had an update since October 6 and my warranty status now says
    'Standard Standard warranty Toshiba unregistered'?
    Think this should happen when Tempro advised me on a Tempro itsself update: update around 6 October?
    I registered my guarantee that some moths back, I can not re - save that I am already registered, I can confirm that my warranty is until August 2011 on the toshiba support site.
    I can browse and then install updates from toshiba but not by Tempro. Infact today I downloaded Tempro 3.3.4 and installed.
    TEMPRO is activated and shows my correct series and number of model, but always said that my warranty is not registered.

    Under condition of the guarantee: guarantee offers, help and register buttons all work, but clicking on the button "Refresh" seems to do nothing. If I disconnect my internet and press "update" button there is no percievable difference?

    I'm sure theres no firewall problem, but put exceptions in TemproSvc.exe and TemproTray.exe to be sure.

    I know that Toshiba say wait 5 days for the warranty to show registered but surely that does not mention when you click on the update button, but since time of your registration?
    Which for me was long August/September.

    Hey Buddy,

    Where to check the details of the warranty for your laptop?
    For European laptops, you can check the warranty here: http://www.toshiba-tro.de/unitdetails

    If it s are not correct, you should ask a service provider authorized in your country or contact Toshiba people under [email protected] and explain your situation.

    Good luck! :)

    Is there a way to check the status of the battery on my iPad 4gen?

    Make a booking Genius Bar at your local Apple store and they can run a free diagnostic on the iPad that will determine the State of the battery.

    You will need for your Apple ID to make the reservation:

    Batteries are no longer available on the Apple online store but can be at your nearest Apple Retail Store, you must check with your store. A better option is probably buy one yourself and replace it. Buy a quality like this http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/apple_laptop/batteries/MacBook_13_Unibody battery

    Avoid imitations cheap as those who are sold on auction sites.
