vRO Java REMAINS SDK

Hello

Does anyone know if the source code of the Java REST SDK will be publicly available?

Or, if it is not provided for by VMware.

The documentation explains very few examples, and I would like to get a better understanding of it.

Thomas

Hi Thomas,

AFAIK, there is no immediate plans to do so. But more people have begun to ask, we probably should he look for some of the next versions. I'll check what could be done in this area.

I agree that the official documentation could be improved, but it is something out of direct control of the vRO dev team.

  • NetBeans beta 8 and Java ME SDK 8 EA

    Hello

I can't get Netbeans beta 8 to work with Java ME SDK 8 EA. The steps I did was:

    1. download and install Netbeans 8 beta from https://netbeans.org/community/releases/80/.

    2. download and install the plugin Java ME SDK 8 EA and Netbeans Java ME SDK 8 EA - downloads | Oracle Technology Network

    3. I've added the plugin for Netbeans

4 activated the Plugin Java ME

    Everything installed without error.

Now when I try to create an application Java ME Embedded Netbeans tells me to install a software/platform/emulator SDK (which I did in step 2 and 3 above)? I'm not sure what I am doing wrong here, everything seems good (comparing to my Nebeans 7.4 installation).

Any help is good help ;-)

    -Andy

    Andy,

For the Java ME SDK 8 EA, you must use a build of developer NB special, as described in the EA ME SDK 8 Quick Start Guide and the download page:

    JAVA ME SDK DOWNLOAD

The reason is that the normal NB version at the time had the necessary support for Java ME 8, so we asked the team NB to create a special version for use with ME SDK 8 EA.

    Hope that helps,

  • Java ME SDK versions 3.2 and 3.3/3.4. Which one to use for 3.2 devices?

    Hello!

We are at the point of a Java ME 3.2 device that will not be 3.3 or 3.4 in the near future. There are two versions of the SDK, but I don't see if you use the SDK 3.3/3.4 I can generate code to run in point 3.2.

Also, we will start developing for Java ME 3.3 features as well.

Can I use only 3.3/3.4 SDK for all software, or to have 2 environments, one for each version?

3.2 and 3.3 me have significant differences in the peripheral access API.

So, for 3.2 device you use ME SDK 3.2.

For 3.3 devices you can use both ME SDK 3.3 or ME SDK 3.4 (there is no change in API between ME SDK 3.3 and 3.4 of the SDk to me), however in this case, I recommend using ME SDK 3.4 as the newest one.

  • Virtual machine be abandoned error during the installation of the Java EE SDK

    Hi all

I try to install java_ee_sdk-6u3-jdk7-windows - x 64 .exe on our new Windows Server 2012 machine but the Setup program starts and I then get a configuration box appears which says: error: the VM of Java (TM) dropped out.  I looked in the event viewer and there is no messages and I tried to get the installer to create a log file (from the-l < loglocation > parameter) but he doesn't seem to get that, although no log is created.

The first time I tried to start the JavaEE installation on this machine, it installed everything ok but not to create the windows service such as missing of .NET Framework 3.5.  So I uninstalled JavaEE and added in the .NET Framework 3.5 and then my troubles began.  I have already installed these versions of Java and JavaEE successfully on a machine Windows Server 2012 previous who had the .NET Framework 3.5 on it.

The JRE already installed on the computer is jre-6u45-windows - x 64 .exe and I am logged on as administrator.  I tried to uninstall JRE and resettlement and also do a registry clean using CCleaner incase there are ancient references to the JRE/JavaEE, but it did not help.

If someone can give me clues as to why this error pops up, I would be very grateful!

    Thank you

    Caroline

Finally got it working after a lot more headscratching.  Turned out just by the way the path for the JRE installation was not good enough, I had to include the drive letter too even though it was on the same drive!

  • How to enable Java in Firefox 12?

    Hello!

Here's the situation, I recently installed platform Java SE JDK Java, JavaFX SDK and JRE for Windows 64 - bit freshly installed a version.

In the past, I used Firefox 3.6.x. But this time, I installed the latest and 12 of Firefox. But there is one problem with it, it can not run Java applets. Why?

I noticed that when I go to Firefox button, Addons, Extensions, there is no named Java, like the Java Console extension. Why is this? This means that there is no Java plug-in installed for Firefox? How will I know that the Java plug-in is installed?

How can I do with this problem? Please advise! I really don't feel like re - install again the Java everywhere and all its components and having to reconfigure everything from scratch. In my view, that there is a problem with Firefox does only not with the JRE already installed.

What version of Java you downloaded?
Firefox can only run the 32-bit version of Java.

    • If you use Java 2 SDK, Standard Edition version 6.0, get 16 updated to version 6.0 of Java 2 SDK on Oracle's Web site before downloading the plug-in using the Eclipse update mechanism.

In your existing Eclipse environment, follow the steps below:

    2. Click Add:
      1. In the Add Site dialog box, type the URL http://www.blackberry.com/go/eclipseUpdate/mac/java in the location text box, and specify the location of the BlackBerry Java plug-in update in the name text box.

  • Location JavaME Embedded SDK 8.1 EA3 demos?

    Hello.

Where can I download 8.1 package EA3 demos of?

    Thank you!

    Hello

Normally, ME SDK 8 demos/samples are offered by the center of update SDK ME (-Tools > NetBeans-> Java ME-> Java ME SDK Update Center).

However, for ME SDK 8.1 EA n ° 3 demos/samples are delivered as part of NetBeans plug-ins (download from the same page as the binary ME SDK EA n ° 3). Once the plug-in is installed (see Quick Start Guide), you can access the samples via NetBeans-> file-> new project-> samples-> Java ME SDK 8.1.

Note that not all these samples have been updated to work on the FRDM-K64F yet.

  • vRO: try to find a way to have a dropdown list of the files of your choice

    Hi Gents Intelli-

I have a workflow that I am trying to create and publish in vCAC/vRA that does the following:

    (1) item of catalogue request to "Import a file" to launch

    (2) form of application will have a search field for the virtual machine to which the file will be copied (i.e. VC:VirtualMachine) - I've got this under control

    (3) in addition, the application form will be a drop down menu of all the files in a certain directory on the server of vCO (i.e./nfs/repo/folder), where the user will select a single file

    (4) for the bid, it will copy the file from the server of vCO to the guest VM (I can use the built in "workflow" for that)

So, my current limitation of knowledge is how to create a workflow that costs 3 above?  For more information, there is, for example, 20 different files that are located in the folder/nfs/repo.  I want the user to be able to see them all in a mode where they can select a menu drop-down.

As always, I appreciate any help.

    Karl

Script steps can be created in the tree of actions.

First, open the 'Design' perspective with the help of the drop-down list in the vRO Java Client, then click on the second tab on the left. See the attached screenshots.

  • Developer SQL release 4 (Windows XP, Java)

As far as I know, my personal computer environment has the following attributes:

    Windows XP

    32 bit processor

applications that require Java 6 (jre) or less

I would use SQL developer version 4 in the same environment that requires Java 7 development kit.

Is there a way to 'best practices' to download the 7 Java SDK in an environment similar to that described above

so it can peacefully coexist with Java 6, but only used by SQL Developer release 4. I realize that some downloads account

SQL Developer already include the appropriate Java components, but I don't think that this applies to my situation.

    Hello

Is there a way to 'best practices' to download the Java 7 SDK so that it can coexist peacefully with Java 6...

It's easy!  Most applications use only a JRE, not a JDK and search for it through the system to the Windows PATH environment variable.  Only Java JDK Installer installs a JRE optionally and under Win XP 32-bit, will put the copies under C:\Program Java and C:\Windows\System32.  Path must always include C:\Windows\System32, but generally should not include a specific reference to a under C:\Program Java JRE or a JDK.

    So...

    1. download the latest version of Windows x 86 Java JDK 7 of Java SE Development Kit 7 - downloads | Oracle Technology Network | Oracle

    2. run. During the installation, select only the development tools option, making sure to deselect the Source Code and JRE Public.

    3. download the Windows 32/64 - bit announcement this forum > view details > download.

    4. run and install it according to the usual instructions (unzip into an empty directory, etc.).

    5. the product must ask the location of the JDK.  You will probably choose something like C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_55.

    6. If no prompt, or you choose the wrong JDK, just manually edit the SetJavaHome line in the sqldeveloper\...\product.conf file.

    7. which should be found at the location of your user AppData.  For Win XP: C:\Documents and Settings\Change Data

    Kind regards

  • The definition of VM annotation/notes via the SDK.

I am interested in affecting the property of annotation/notes of a VM programmatically via the Web Java/vSphere SDK service.  It seems that annotation field is available in the following types:

    • VirtualMachineConfigSummary

    • VirtualMachineConfigInfo

    • VirtualMachineConfigSpec

So I guess I have a two part question.  One, which one of the above types should I work on in order to define the 'Notes' field and secondly, what is the the more direct way to achieve via Java and the SDK?

    Hello

To change/set the VM annotation property, you can use VirtualMachineConfigSpec. Now, the most direct way to accomplish the same invoke ReconfigVM_task API (if VM) or the CreateVM_Task API (if creating a new machine virtual) passes the VirtualMachineConfigSpec and in VirtualMachineConfigSpec, set the annotation property. In this way, you can set the notes via vSphere SDK. The basic steps to perform:

    VirtualMachineConfigSpec vmConfigSpec = new VirtualMachineConfigSpec();

    vmConfigSpec.setAnnotation = "" / / value of desired

reconfigVM_Task (vmMOR, vmConfigSpec); call the API

    Hope it will be useful.
