VSA does virtual vCenter Appliance support

We are setting up a remote site with VSA running on both nodes ESX with a third ESX Server built to manage the instance of vCenter.  We run vCenter device for our main campus and would like to remain consistent, but I read her you need to run on a Windows Server vCenter.  Someone at - it care to confirm or deny?

VSA is and add-on for vCenter for Windows.

I have install the vCenter Assistant support, no problem. But when I used Chrome (v47) to access it, I had a small "Ephemeral DH public key" error I tried to give him a certificate signed by our Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise internal CA, but not joy. IE will not work, but Chrome. What can I do to get rid of this error blocking (in addition to switch to IE, which is not a good solution)? I saw a note to update some files server.xml in VCOrchestrator to the same question, but I can't find a comparable file on the device to support Asst. As far as I can tell, our CA used a model that uses the Microsoft Enhanced RSA and AES Cryptographic Provider, sha256, 2048-bit keys - what is weak on this subject? What did I miss?

    Someone at - it ideas?

I would love to see a response from the support, but I think that the only option is to wait for an update of the device.  I did a little research and it looks like a problem with the OpenSSL version delivered with SLES 11.  OpenSSL v0.9.8 does not support TLS 1.1 or 1.2 (TLS 1.2 - SUSA Blog |) The communities of SUSE) and there is no simple mechanism was updated to the version within the unit. No matter what kind of cert you put on the system, he will always support the resulting weak encryption methods Chrome report the site.  I tried to limit the list of encryption algorithms to only ECDHE, but Chrome still did not like it.

  • How does VMware vCenter Server Heartbeat communicate?

How does VMware vCenter Server Heartbeat communicate?

VMware vCenter Server Heartbeat supports configurations of single NIC or multi.

Public IP address: this IP address is used by a client to connect to an Active Server, and move between the secondary and primary servers in the case of a failover or a passage.

IP address of the channel: this is for communication between active and passive servers. This is used for the transfer of control and an asset to the passive server data and monitoring the State of an Active Server.

In a LARGE network, static routes are used on switches to maintain ongoing communication.

Management IP address: this address is used to access servers in a passive role. In a multi NETWORK card configuration, a NIC will have IP addresses public and management, and an another aura NIC IP address of channel. In a single NETWORK adapter configuration, all IP addresses are on the same network adapter.

  • I can't connect to my VMware vCenter Assistant support

I led to vCenter Assistant support.  When I run the Diagnostics, all the controls of spend.  When I try to connect to my VMware using my valid credentials, I get the message "Invalid credentials, please check your user name and password".

I know that my credentials are correct and work because I can connect to My VMware directly using the same username and password as I train with the vCenter Assistant support.

Someone had comparable issues, or have any suggestions as to what could go wrong?

    See you soon

  • Number maximum official virtual computers Win2k8 supported in a MSCS cluster

Please can someone point me on the official document or an answer to the following questions:

    • What is the maximum number of Windows 2008 virtual computers based supported in a MSCS cluster (based on vSphere 4.x cluster)

    • more generally, what is the maximum number of Windows 2008 virtual computers based supported in a MSCScluster (based on any cluster ESX/ESXi)

All the documentation I've seen only speak of 2 nodes (and other sources mention that only 2-node MSCS clusters are supported by VMWARE), but I want a definitive answer to VMWARE or documentation that specifies the maximum number of VMs of Windows 2008 that can be in a MSCS cluster hosted on ESX/ESXi clusters.

    Thank you.

The documentations are correct. Even though you may be able to create a cluster with more than two nodes, the supported limit is 2 knots.

  • vCenter Appliance Web Configuration of Client SSO error

Currently have a vSphere 4.1 with two hosts ESXi environment.  vCenter is on a VM dediated on a single host.

I'm moving to 5.1 and have chosen to deploy the unit vCenter instead of upgrading my VM.  A through the deployment and installation of the device through the web GUI.  Everything seemed to have configured correctly (DB, SSO, AD auth, etc.).  This is where it gets weird.

I can access the vCenter via web client uses Windows authentication.  By using the same user credentials in the local client on my computer, it says I don't have permission.  In the web client, when I go to Administration-> Sign-On and discovery-> Configuration, I get an error on any tab, I selected:

    Error: com.vmware.vim.binding.sso.fault.InvalidCredentials:

    inherited from com.vmware.vim.binding.vmodl.fault.SecurityError:

    inherited from com.vmware.vim.binding.sso.fault.InvalidCredentials

I'm about to give up and just upgrade my current vCenter, but I like the idea of the dedicated device.  I can't find any documentation on this error, or what I'm doing wrong.  It is very difficult to find documentation on the device.

    Thoughts? v

Well, I can't tell you how to solve this problem, but maybe Kendrick Coleman 5.1 vSphere vCenter Virtual Appliance and vSphere Client video tutorial Web series will help you to successfully deploy the vCenter Server Appliance. At least she helped me to solve some problems I had with the first installations.

When you create an import or export tasks and select a vNetwork Distributed Switch in the choice of the network for the virtual machine target, the task begins but does not immediately with the following error message: unknown error returned from agent vCenter Converter. This problem appears when you use the wizards to import or export or the convert Command Line Interface (CLI) tool to create the task.

Solution: Select a network to the computer virtual target that is not a vNetwork Distributed Switch.

  • RAY & VSA - ACS 5.2 Appliance

    Hello

I have found no documentation explaining how to create a specific attribute to the unit of ACS 5.2 for RADIUS authentication. I was able to do on ACS 4.0 ServerPour Netscreen Firewalls. We are migrating to ACS 5.2 device and before do us I want to know how to perform the task where migration has a problem with the import of the ASB of ACS 4.

    Thank you

    Edgardo

Well, now it gets more interesting. Our configuration on ACS Version 3.3 is authenticate local users through RADIUS, but caution Netscreen published the port to use is of 1645. Such has been manually added to the ACS 3.3 but such task is hidden on the ACS 5.2 or it is not supported. I have the resources to serve as a native port of RADIUS 1812 who reported on GBA after having authenticated the user, but the Netscreen does not authenticate. Someone at - it deal with this issue? Your advice will be appreciated.

Can be done from the GUI

    (1) create the information of supplier at the following link:

    System Administration >... > Configuration > dictionaries > protocols > RADIUS > RADIUS VSA

    (2) when created select 'display the attributes of the seller"option on this page for the seller and can then set attributes

  • vCenter Appliance physical server, 3 guests, small environment size

    Hi all.

I'm trying to move a vCenter device to a physical server.  This is a small facility with only 3 guests.  I'm a bit new to VMware.  If I put in place, single sign - on again and add the hosts once again, this isn't a problem.  I did not put groups in place and yet it is a new installation. In fact, there is a cluster but DRS and HA is lit.  I want to remove the cluster but not the hosts.  We have a small Windows 2008 R2 AD domain.  The vCenter Server is member of the domain, as are ESXi hosts.  This is version 5.5.

Is it OK if I simply remove the vCenter device by stopping and removing disk and inventory, then install the physical server and add hosts, delete the server appliance of AD and add the new physical server to AD and set up SSO again on the new server - that will work?  Did I meet problems questions?

I would point out that the reason behind my fact that must implement vSA on the 3 hosts, and from what I read, I can't launch the vCenter on a VSA host device, and 3 guests must be guests of VSA if each should share its space with the other 2. I also read that I can't add VMS to guests until the VSA cluster has been created.  So I need to ditch the current cluster and take the guests out of it.  That a host is always under the existing cluster.  I'm hoping that by performing these steps above that I can add my hosts to the new server physical vCenter once it's running and just delete the old a.  If this is not the way forward on this issue, if you please point me in the right direction and you will be worth your weight in gold as far as I'm concerned.

Thank you very much in advance,

    Sam

Just a quick note on the ASB. You can read the new features of vSphere Storage Appliance version 5.1, which explains the added features, including a brownfield facility.

  • Preparation of deep security virtual ESXi Appliance

    Hello

I'm not sure that this is the best place to ask this question. But, I tried to install the Virtual Appliance of deep security, but when I try to prepare the ESXi in deep Security Manager (Deep Security Manager is a VM virtualized in my computer) I get the following error: "unable to download .zip bundle in offline mode. Ensure that the ESX Server can connect to XXXXXXXXX on port 4119. "I turned off the Windows Firewall on the virtual machine and the physical machine that hosts it. Someone has already worked with deep security? No idea how I can fix this problem? Any help would be appreciated.

You should also ensure that the ESX Server can communicate with the deep Security Manager. During the process of preparation, the DSM gives the vCenter a temporary URL for the filter driver. vCenter then passes this information to the ESX Server that is responsible for downloading the driver himself.

Ping the DSM of the ESX command line and see if you can get there by train.
