• FTP problem with just 1 host

  I worked on a site hosted by 1and1 for about 5 years. Recently however, whenever I try to connect using dreamweaver, it shows a simple file that indicates that the site has activated frontpage extensions and I can't use FTP until the extensions are disabled.
  
  My first reaction was to check that the extensions had not been enabled (they didn't, but as a precaution, I tried enabling them and then disable - no difference made).
  
  Then I tried using a command prompt to use the Basic windows FTP tool - that works very well. I can see everything as planned. At least I have a workaround, but it's a major inconvenience to say the least.
  
  I went through all the settings in Dreamweaver that I can find about FTP and none of this makes no difference. The killer came to use another computer to connect - that too is displayed with the same message when I use Dreamweaver.
  
  1and1 swear blind that the problem is not on their end and I have a flaw in Dreamweaver. The problem is that I can't imagine what it actually is and that I could do with some help to isolate the fault. Is DW made differently than a normal ordinary ftp client? Are there hidden parameters that can be at fault?

  Annoyingly, I just managed to work around the problem by destroying the site and recreating the bunch of parameters.

  Still no idea why it happened in the first place. Still no idea what the exact nature of the problem was.

• vCenter complete with just 2 hosts database?

  Last week, my vCenter Server broke down 3 x.  As far as I know, the SQLExpress database hit that's the limit of 4 GB.  No problem, I'll just follow the operation here:

  Unfortunately, that released only 10MB.  Then, of course, less than a day later we are back to where we started.  Then I ran this:

  After deleting (?) the VPX_EVENT and _VPX_EVENT_ARG tables, I restarted the box and we are at the top (for now).

  As someone who has * no. with SQL experience, how will I know how I have now in my VCDB of free space, and more important again, what is causing it fills?  My best guess is that we use vReplicator Vizioncore (not buying it), that could generate many events, but I have no way to check it out and they say to me "you must call VMware."

  You can also check your statistics in vCenter.  The more statistics, more your DB level could get.  In addition, you can watch the maintenance tasks to help keep this DB under control.  I can't Express, but when you are in the properties of the DB, see if you have a recovery model, if it is something other than the simple, to change.  Also, I posted a KB above which will help with your transaction logs.  These tend to be the largest part of the size of the DB instance.

  "There is no problem" depends on how you look at it. From a point of view VSAN you just lost quorum as more then 50% of the components must be available. There are a lot of questions in this scenario as I see it. What you are looking for is not possible with VSAN.

  I have a server vmware running windows XP with 3 virtual machines in suse. I would like to access the 3 virtual machines from the network at the same time. The vm 3 has their own static ip address. I use the bridge network mode. There is only 1 NETWORK card on the XP computer. With this configuration, I can access only 1 vm the network at a time. When I added an another NIC and jumpered it on a second computer, virtual, then I can access 2 at the same time.  Any ideas on how I can access all the vm 3 at the same time on the network with just 1 NETWORK card?

  Even if you only have a physical NETWORK adapter, you should be able to access all the guests at the same time when they use bridged networking and have a correct IP configuration. Can you put your host IP configuration and your guests so we can check it out. Make sure the guests are really "bridged" and disable all firewall during the test.

In my wife's cell phone, it appears in the Firefox splash screen, but not in the form of Gmail. In the top of the screen is an extra-large gray bar with just one Google search box entry. Is this a problem of Firefox or Google?

A simple way to do this is to use annotations (for example, without the arrows, a few points), there are the examples come with LV another way is to use an XY Chart.   See if there is a way to tecover clean your data before doing a restore to conditions of factory that will wipe the drive of all.  You can use Knoppix http://www.knopper.net/knoppix/index-en.html with a good ISO as Copier: http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm as well as a blank CD (which you will need to do on another computer).  Starting on this disc and lla should give you enough access to the system (if you do not have any other means) to backup your important data.

  So since you seem to have no other alernatives, you can try retoring the original factory computer options. However, if it is a hardware problem as could very well be the case, you can still encounter problems after even this drastic step.  Then you will need to consider in a reputable computer repair shop (NOT Geek Squad or or a any of these big store centers) or maybe even go back to the manufacturer for repair.   Check out several options and compare the costs, quality and guaranteed and then make your best decision.
