'Vulnerable' plugins are already updated. Firefox does not recognize updates!

I've updated my VLC plugin to latest software version 2.1.3 and the plugin. Yet, Firefox says it is 'vulnerable' for no reason. I also stopped and restarted firefox after the update, and it did not have a hint of difference.

In addition, Adobe Reader 9.5.5 is the version of Reader 9 and is perfectly fine according to my Add-ons Manager, but yet, it is also 'vulnerable' according to the plugin to update checkfor absolutely NO reason. When I've upgraded to Adobe Reader X many years ago that he did not at all with firefox as the plugin had serious problems and was not easy to use even outside firefox. I then reinstalled 9 and never returned.

Why Firefox cannot recognize the plugins updated and said they are vulnerable, and yet gives zero why?

Finally, if I go to the Add-ons Manager and click the "update now" in this page it only brings me to the page worthless telling me that the plugin was blocked, not knowing where to go to update. It's a really irritating problem that you will try the upgrade and you don't go to a Web site that will allow you to do so, it will take you to a page that says absolutely NOTHING of value.

If you want to replace the VideoLAN\VLC\ program files that have not been updated with the win32, such as npvlc.dll Installer (and others?):

You can get the Zip Package vlc - 2.1.3 - Win32.zip linked here and extract the content: https://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html

If you do not want to I would consider a complete uninstall VLC media player 2.1.3 then a resinstall.

  • 35.0.1 Firefox does not recognize that the last flash is installed

There was a series of updates to flash, and I kept with them as helped my package manager. However, firefox is not recognize later as the last.

My Package Manager shows that the version is 11.2.202.440

Firefox and my package manager agree on the way to the .so file. Actually, I copied the path to the file so on firefox and checked in the terminal and it is the version of the right package AND chains told me that the incorporated itself into the .so version string is the most recent. Yet, somehow, firefox really, really think it is version.425 instead de.440.

I restarted firefox. I even rebooted, even if it should not be necessary.

Currently, this version of Flash has been marked as vulnerable:
Adobe Flash Player 11.2.202.440 and earlier for Linux

It's weird that package and everything: plugins page is different however.

This also occurs when you update to the latest: [11.2.202.442]

  • Firefox does not recognize that I have already installed add-ons (guests to install Add - ons I've already installed AND enabled). Why?

Modules, which are updated already installed and running (and have been for awhile), seem to think that they are not added. Looking at my modules in the Tools menu, they are listed as enabled. However, clicking to access their information page on the web (where you can read reviews, and where you initially chose to add them to Firefox), the "Add to firefox" button is available. (As opposed to some kind of "already installed" or button "Uninstall" or "Reinstall") I tried the button to see if pressing him THEN told me 'you have this', but it does not! He started to download the plug-in, I already have! What is going on?

Hello Amsuko, the "+ add to Firefox" button on addons.mozilla.org and similar sites is just a normal static element on the website. Web sites do not have the ability to query what extensions a user has already installed (it would probably be considered as a violation of privacy / security). When you install an add-on that is already present on your system, it will simply not be replaced...

  • I am owner of a Web site that is verified by google, but firefox does not recognize this audit. What can I do?

I run google ads on my site, but now the new version of firefox automatically blocks all ads in because my webiste is deemed dangerous, even if I have a google check that I can provide details if necessary.

My problem is that (relatively speaking) low percentage of visitors using firefox and adds monthly traffic, if I want to make my Green webiste failure...

I added the image from my Web site

Please note that Firefox does block all ads regular navigation. This can happen in only private browsing mode.

We have added a new feature in private browsing mode called tracking protection, designed to protect the privacy of the users by limiting the third follow-up. Given that the Google ads program uses third-party tracking, ads on your Web site can be blocked in private browsing mode.

At present, have no way around that because Google ads are the responsibility of the third party tracking category. Blocking ads is not because of your Web site certificate.

Note: Users can also block ads on your website by using a Firefox addon. Mozilla does not develop or maintain these addons.

  • Firefox does not recognize the certificates of all permitted https sites. Any ideas how to fix?

I downloaded firefox, checked for malicious and verified software for viruses. Firefox allows to work in this environment. At some malware - corrected and now does not open any trusted site. Rpet certificate is not good. I checked several site certificates and they are good. Help?

I guess that you install Fiddler, which is used by web developers...

The presence of this certificate may indicate malware named backup browser.

In Control Panel, uninstall a program, I suggest that once the list is loaded, you click on the column heading "installed on" to group infections, I mean additions by date. See if you can find BrowserSafe/browser backup or similar and remove.

  • Firefox does not recognize the default messaging application in win7 64 bit

I installed zimbra desktop on a fresh windows 7 64 bit. and I chose zimbra desktop to the default e-mail client. m$ internet explore open zimbra desktop when I click on a mailto link. but in firefox I can only choose 'thunderbird', 'yahoo mail' and 'google mail' as the mail clients by default when I click on a mailto link.

    I have windows 7 64-bit, firefox 29.0.1 and zimbra desktop 7.2.5 installed.

    Hey again,

Thanks for your reply. with Process Monitor , I was able to debug the problem and find a solution.

Zimbra Desktop does not have key of registry HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Windows/Shell/Associations/UrlAssociations/mailto/UserChoice but firefox only reads the key.

so to summarize what I did, here a list:

    • Remove mimeTypes.rdf as described here
    • Delete HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Windows/Shell/Associations/UrlAssociations/mailto and all of its subkeys or change HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Windows/Shell/Associations/UrlAssociations/mailto/UserChoice/Progid to "ZimbraDesktop.Url.mailto".

  • Firefox does not recognize my keyboard

My main advice was walked across my little puppy and now I can't type anything in Firefox. The keyboard works with other programs, however. I've uninstalled and reinstalled twice reset Firefox and disabled add-ons, all sorts of things that the internet has proposed. Help, please! I love Firefox and don't want to have to switch browsers.

Some have reported that one or more times by pressing F9 + Windows has worked to solve problems with the keyboard does not.

Windows remembers the setting by application keyboard layout and you have probably changed the keyboard by accident via a keyboard shortcut.

  • Facebook and Firefox does not recognize Firefox as my browser. Cannot install Firefox Add-ons.

This all happened all of a sudden in itself. I have not installed new programs or software of any kind. I have Norton Security software, but it was installed on my PC for 6 months without any problem. I uninstalled Firefox3.6, 10. And reinstalled it, but this does not solve the problems.

  • Firefox does not recognize certificates of any of my banks since the update itself to 35.0.

I had to switch to Internet Explorer, because all of a sudden I can't sign to one of my banks of Firefox without substitution of this warning:
    "This connection is Untrusted.
You asked Firefox to connect safely to www.capitalone.com, but we cannot confirm that your connection is secure.
Normally, when you try to connect safely, sites will present a reliable identification to prove that you're in the right place. However, the identity of this site cannot be verified. etc etc.

(I prefer Firefox and want to come back.)

In fact for one of the banks, Firefox not even let me substitute. Capital One, Wells Fargo, USAA Insurance... I am sure that their certificates are all in the right order... and that they expire the same day.
Come on, Mozilla, you took the decision to switch me to automatic updates, not of me... and that's why I didn't... I'd rather have someone else work out the bugs before you update.
Please show me how to recover my banks access.
    Thank you

    I found the problem:
FireFox itself upgrade 35 around the same time that I updated my Kaspersky Internet Security. Two new applications are not compatible.
If I had just the new KIS or if I was just the new Firefox, there is no problem.
There is a workaround solution that works very well, and I posted it in the forum of users of Kaspersky. (Is to add a "fake" certificate of Kaspersky Kaspersky supplies you.)
I'm still not satisfied that Firefox took away my ability to NOT update to Firefox.

Mine did the same thing, so I did a complete pc reboot and changed the to18.0.0.209 plugin. Just restart FF won't change.
