  • Tecra M7: Vista 'Open file security warning' for Alptec pointing device .exe files

I gritted my teeth and updated my M7 for Vista Ultimate Friday. Overall I am very happy with the results. I have stripped the machine of all Toshiba drivers before installation and then re-installed all Vista drivers afterwards.

Everything seems to be OK aside, whenever I boot, I get the following errors when the device pointing Alptec drivers load: open file security warning - the Publisher could not be verified.
Are you sure you want to run this program? The file is: C:\Porgram Files\Apoint2k\appoint.exe, then the same thing for: c:\Popram Files\Apoint2K\ApmsgFWD.exe and C:\Program Files\Apntex.exe. I click "Run" on each of the applications and uncheck the button "always Me ask."

It makes no difference and every time that I reboot, I get the same error. If anyone has had this problem, and if so, do you know how to fix it?

I suspect it is a problem of certificate with Alps Electric Co Ltd and have checked their website and found nothing.

    Help much appreciated as always.

    Hello

Just a question before we start any discussion here: have you downloaded and installed the drivers, tools and utilities for Toshiba download page in order facilities listed in the instructions facilities document?

BTW: where you have downloaded the pointing device Alptec driver?

The popup itself exceeds the size of the screen, so that the 'Cancel' button is unclickable, but even dismissing it with other methods (like ESC) make it appear again.  You must quit Safari and restart while now Shift to prevent bad page load again.  For reference, the URL was "https://storage.googleapis.com/systemconfigirationrequiredduetomjaorissues/mac/i ndex.html" but please do not visit!

I had a friend who fell for her, and she gave these people $ 300 to "solve" the problem.  More painful, she followed the instructions of granting them access to his computer remotely.  Upon learning this, I got it to restore all of the backup system (TYMV Time Machine!) and she is trying to change all his passwords.

The money went to a China-based payment processing intermediate, and scammers sent him to DocuSign to "confirm the work has been accomplished."  I guess that these measures are taken to make it difficult to recover the funds, even if his credit card company have indicated that they would probably reverse charge.

The good news is that I've just updated to the last Safari (9.0.2), and now the popup may be rejected:

I honestly don't know if this was something has changed in Safari, or if the code was different; This time, he started to READ THE MESSAGE aloud in a loop, I so was very happy to be able to reject.

The same scam appeared on my iMac. And looking over 2500 views on this page, I suspect that many other people had the same thing happen to them. I was wondering if Apple, which has labor behind them, can do something. Hope that at least they have air in it.

    Outlook/Safe
If secure Outlook works as expected, disable add-ins for it using the following steps:

    (b) check whether there is listed add-ins, clear the checkbox to disable them.

    Figfmly1

I can't tell you why you never received these warnings previously.  By default, you should always receive a warning each time Internet Explorer tries to connect to a web page (HTTPS) secure that includes non-secure content.

To remove the warning, open Internet Explorer and click on Tools / Internet Options / Security.
Select the Internet zone, then click Custom level
Scroll down to the display of mixed content
By default, EI invite for approval, before it connects to any secure page which includes mixed or poorly secured content.
If you want to remove the warning, you can choose between two options:

'Activate' allows Internet Explorer to download a mixed content, without any warning.  This option is dangerous, because the passwords and other sensitive data could be sent to unsecured locations.

'Disable' prevents Internet Explorer to download all content not secure - without any warning, he did it.  This is my recommended option and in practice, it is unlikely to cause problems.

So what happens when you turn off a mixed content?

Mixed content occurs in general, when a poorly designed HTTP web page contains links to the sources of unsecured (HTTP) logos or other graphics.  You will notice that when you disable a mixed content, some graphics are missing from the page.  However, that should not affect functionality, so better be safe than sorry.

  • Security warning opening the file

    Windows Vista Edition Home Premium.

Open File Security Warning - do you want to open this file?

Just started having recently. But I'm only opening. JPG image files. I'm not trying to run programs or anything like that.  Double-clik just the image and this alert appears. I know that this is just a simple click to clear, but A) it didn't happen before, a few weeks ago and B) I just not want to notify me whenever I want to open a picture of the machine.

    Very annoying!

If I'm right-clik the image file, I get the option to "unblock" the file and subsequently, he won't give the warning again for only one file. However I have gazillions of images (well a few thousand I guess in any case) and unlocking does not seem to be used in the attempt of "Select block" of 20 or 30 files at once.  Also very annoying!

Although I'm not really interested in the "why" (but it might interest my husband who thinks he can be a recent update to Vista which has caused this start out-of-the-blue), but I'm more interested how solve this problem.

Microsoft has an answer? I can do something here on my PC, or is it an other update to cancel it? You should know that I'm not messing around with the machines 'register' or something like that. Nor my husband (coz I'm not going to let him).

Thank you for the pointers or heals.

I really hope Microsoft has the cure, because it seems that the general consensus of the opinions I've heard so far said they are the ones who have changed something on my PC, perhaps unintentionally.

    Publisher: Intel Corporation
    Type: Application

I have 2 possibilities to run or cancel.

One can help to to get rid of this 2 pop ups plx.

Go to http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx and install and run Autoruns and go to the tab all and check the files referred to in your message.  If you find them, uncheck the boxes to keep them from start to start, and then click OK.  Reboot and messages should be gone.

If this does not work, try a boot minimum http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135.  If the problem goes away then it's just a matter of tracking down the culprit at the origin of the problem.   Follow the procedures described in the article.  Once found, remove, delete, disable or uninstall.  Once remember to put Vista in normal status, as described in the procedures. If the problem occurs in clean mode then just restore the system to normal and reboot - this solution will not work.

Start in safe mode with network and see if the problem is here.  A result allows us to narrow down the search for the cause.

I hope this helps.  Keep me posted.

Hey, I have an Acer Aspire 4720z with windows 7 computer. I installed AVG 9 and Zonealarm Firewall. I have disabled the windows firewall, but kept windows Defender. Recently, 4 virus/worm infected my computer via a mobile device, I can't remember which. So I went to Microsoft and downloaded Security the OneCare safety scanner. He scanned my computer and detected 4 worms and six trojans. Infact, I use the computer normally every day and nothing has changed it's strange. OneCare is unable to remove them so I tried the Windows malicious software removal tool. The tool has not yet detected the virus and worms. I was amazed. AVG detected two of them. I removed them from the vault.

I don't understand this. My computer is infected with malicious software 6 and this software did not something crazy and all of these tools were not ab; e to detect all of these infections?
