W510: USB 3.0 in combination with docking station

Hello

Is the docking station for the ports of USB 3.0 W510 support or do I connect USB 3.0 devices directly to the W510?

Thanks for your help.

Michael

Yah not quite the case. Ports on your pc look exactly a like. Usb 3.0 on a w510 is via a daughter card and it seems that this connection is not passed through the donnector from dock to dock. But yes dock isn't capable of usb 2.0 and 3.0

  • Tecra M5: Double monitors with docking station?

    Hello

I have a Tecra M5 with docking station, in the past with other laptops, I was able to hook up a monitor by using the analog port and the other with digital and used both with the screen down.

This seems not possible on this new, I have options to perform a monitor with the laptop or with a TV screen, but not two monitors to separate whole.

Everyone was able to get this to work if so how? Graphix is the NVIDIA Quadro NVS btw.

    Thank you

    Hello

It is very interesting, but all I know is not possible. I'm not sure at 100%, but for something like that you need a special graphics card that supports something like that.

The same situation is with my Tecra. But the idea with two external displays is not bad. :)

  • External monitor like main screen for M200 with docking station

    Hi all

I have a Tablet M200 with GeForce FX go 5200. I have a Toshiba docking station and an external LCD display. When it is docked, I would use the external LCD as main display and the LCD builtin as the secondary display. (I want the taskbar, icons and newly opened windows on the external screen when it is docked.)

Unfortunately, I can't find the right combination of settings of this. If I put Windows to extend the desktop on the external screen, "use it as primary display" option is grayed out. I don't get the span horizontally or vertically options in the nView utility, just the Standard and the Clone (and this only if I do not extend to the office.)

How can I get the external screen be the main while being the internal school?

    Thanks in advance!
    Kind regards

  • Portege R700 with docking station may not automatically switch to the external display

    Hello!

In the past, we bought a lot of A600, R500, S10, and always a docking station for every laptop here at Desjardins, we bought.

Now we have a little problem with the new R700 model: PT318C - 00G 001,
    We bought 30 of them.

WHY when we put in the tie-down (with the nearby screen) it can display automatically to the external display no/switch? (in this case a 22inc LCD)
It is connect with the HDMI/DVI cable. And when we get the display by sliding in the graph of intel and media panel (V 6.14.10.5258), after a reboot of the docking, the screen is all buzzy... sometimes both screen are dark, and we must use a combination of keys to move.
It's really not easy to use for our users...

With the old model as the A600 or S10, all have always worked well, if we are on the dock, the pop screen directly on the external LCD, so I stopped him, ondock it and start up of all is well on the screen of the laptop.

We are on Windows XP Pro SP3.

I tried the utility Toshiba display device change and expansion Mobile from Toshiba. are not clear...

    Thanks for your help.

Have you installed a version of vanilla from Windows? Or XP has been installed from the Toshiba Recovery Disc?
Maybe you are missing several key structural factors (common modules for example). Also make sure that you use the drivers to display on the Toshiba site.

Also try a BIOS update (v1.70 is the last one I think).

  • Tecra 9100: Installation of the printer with docking station connected

I have a Tecra 9100 with a docking station that run under WIN - XP SP1. Trying to install my printer, an Epson 740 with USB connection, I found that I need to create 2 entries for the same printer, 1 environmental off-STATION and 1 for MOORING environment, known as the XXX (1 copy). Is this normal or have I done something wrong.

This is different from my old Portege that keeps the 2 hardware profiles, 1 connected uindocked and 1, and there is only 1 entry in the Printers folder.

Also, if I unplugged the printer from the docking station and later taking again on another USB port,
He will ask reinstall me the printer again.

Thanks for any comments from anyone.

I have Tecra M1 and use it on the same port replicator as you have your 9100. The same happen to me if I want to use the webcam on different USB ports. Use it on the same there is no message but using the second port he asks the driver.

It seems to be normal. :)

  • I mixed adapter for Satellite U400 with Docking Station adapter

    I have a satellite U400 laptop and a USB-Docking-Station dynadock.
The Docking Station has a power supply of 5V and the laptop has a power supply 19V, but the connector are excatly the same thing.

Unfortunately I mixed the two connectors.
The result was a big bang and the Docking Station black smoke. It also kills the keyboard and mouse wireless receiver.

    Thanks Toshiba :(

I totally agree with the previous user
You used the wrong AC adapter it is a mistake to Toshiba?

The example posted by Boarder says it all

Who is responsible for the error if you would feed a bad fuel; your or the manufacture of the car?
I think that it s even with your laptop before you plug in and plug whatever it is you laptop you must make sure that it is a right and support for the party.

    That s my personal opinion

  • T420 cannot use the USB 3.0 of 4337 ThinkPad docking station

I have a ThinkPad T420 - with only the USB 2.0 Ports. I bought a docking station with USB 3.0 Port 4337 - but I can't use it with USB 3.0 speed. Where is the problem? What is the solution?

T420 doesn't support USB 3.0, the only solution is to upgrade your machine of T430.

  • Still boring stuck 0.8 Ghz with docking station

If I put my W520 in sleep mode, put in my docking station and run it, it is still stuck at 0, 8 GHz! Same throttlestop will not work!

take it and on the dock during the race makes no difference. Oh well, there is a difference: as it is off the COAST of the docking on battery only, I can get full speed with turbo boost by judgment of the accelerator, but beware if I put it again on the docking station...

the only thing I can do is to restart the laptop, then I get the message: the power of the AC adapter is too low compared to the system has been shipeed with (I HAVE the original PSU 170W on my docking station!), then it starts with TB works very well.

These issues will never end, lenovo?

What BIOS version and the version of the power manager that you have? If its not 1.30 and 3.62 try this combination and see if it helps. What CPU do you have? Docking station that?

  • I am in the USA and what model W700 comes with docking station, keyboard?

Hi guys, im thinking of buying a w700 but the models really confusde me. IM United States and I asked a lot of online stores but none of them could give me a specific answer. AFAIK 6465 comes only with a cradle, w700p comes with nothing, is this correct info? What model comes with all accomplices in option? Only i5 + models 128 GB are on the exam, so please ignore the i3, thank you!

I just bought a W700P-6821 (Windows 8 Professional model) from CostCentral.com.  It arrived today with the Tablet; the case of the built-in keyboard (not the lid and stand-alone Bluetooth keyboard separate); Home/dock station; the micro-HDMI-adapter-VGA; and a capacitive stylus, as well as the power supply and a short USB cable / micro-USB to load the keyboard.  Note that it does NOT come with recovery DVDs.  (CostCentral.com is in PA, I'm in MA, so I guess this is the standard configuration for US).

  • Mouse and keyboard does not not with docking station.

    Hello.

In collaboration with my first thinkpad.  Courtesy of a new job.  They gave me a T61p and a docking station to go with it.  Everything is great except for the fact that the docking station is not recognizing the mouse and keyboard.  I've been digging around, but I still have to find a magical switch that will make this work all.

All this new Thinkpad user tips are welcome.

    Thank you.

24 hours later, the problem is resolved.  The solution is always in the last place you are looking for.  ;-)

In Device Manager, I noticed that all my USB root hub drivers were missing or not installed correctly.  So I uninstalled all and then has the redetection of the everything system.  It has detected new hardware and properly installed the drivers?  Problem solved.

  • Tecra M9 - save the settings of display with docking station

    Hey there.

I have a user who has a Tecra M9 on a docking station.
There are 2 monitors connected to the docking station with VGA, the other with DVI. I use the Nvidia Control Panel and configure the screens and all is good in the world.
That is until the user off the laptop, some work at home, then puts the laptop in.

Therefore, only one monitor works, with the second out of action.
I can go back and reset the configuration, but the user does not want that to happen every day.

Any suggestions on how to get the laptop to save your setting as the case not docked or anchored?

    Thank you!

    > That is, until the user off the laptop, work at home, then puts the laptop in.
Do you know what the user did in the past?
To my knowledge there is not any special options that could save it. If you click on the button (apply) the changes are made and recorded.

  • Tecra M9-104 with docking station - DVI resolution

I wonder if anyone can help. I have a Tecra M9 - 104 running Windows XP. I also have the docking station to go with it. The great thing about the docking station, it's that it can out to two screens as the port on my M5 Replicator could not do.

I bought two identical external screens that have a native resolution of 1440 x 900. I went into the Nvidia display configuration and set up to display both (one is plugged in VGA and one DVI port). However, the display on the DVI monitor is wrong. After further investigation I woke up the menu of the monitor on the screen to see that the resolution actually be issued is 1280 X 1024, despite Nvidia screen saying 1440 x 900 has been the output. Whatever I do, I can't increase the resolution on DVI port.

The only thing I could find on Google and these support forums is that the maximum resolution on the DVI port on a port replicator is 1280 x 1024, but it was for the M1 and M2 series. This laptop is the last series and as such, I expected that the spec had been updated at this time.

    Someone at - it ideas?

Could be due to a limitation of the video driver on the laptop, or you can try to download a utility that requires to use a different resolution, its called Powerstrip (do not have a download link sorry).

Be careful with it though, you can mess up your video driver
