WAG200G

What is the correct classification for the above named product? It is an Access Point, a router, a router modem, a bridge or what?. Where can I plug in the cable to connect to the internet?

WAG200G is a router wireless - g ADSL Home Gateway. It only works with DSL Internet service provider, if your ISP is a cable connection, this router will not work. If you have an ADSL connection, you must connect the telephone line cable to the "Line" port and connect your computers to any Ethernet port, and you must configure this router as recommended by your ISP.

can someone help me if it is on the firmware 1.01.09 for wag200g, cause of all the links that I found so far is an empty .img file? And the official name but just nothing...

    Thank you!

Is NOT this type of DISC image (.img) format, it is a BIOS image file... You don't need to burn a disc, simply download it to your router via the upgrade firmware page (make sure you do it on LAN, no wifi)

  • Partial administration page [WAG200G]

    Hello

I wanted to reuse my old WAG200G lately because my box had blown.

I did a full reset, as recommended on the Linksys site:
    http://KB.Linksys.com/Linksys/UKP.aspx?pid=83&app=VW&VW=1&login=1&JSON=1&docid=0309948f53854b47950d7...

However, when I try to display the configuration of the modem, the page appears half like the screenshot:

The browser runs in a loop. If I click on other pages, it works but other pages are blocked:

    Tested on IE and Chrome.

I also used the original CD to initialize the modem, but there is an error.

If you have an idea, I'm interested.
    Thank you in advance.

Hello ygrakes. Are access you the user of the interface or cable on the WAG200G wireless? Have you tried to access (user interface) using another computer? If you do not have another computer, try to set this computer to static IP, powercycle the computer and try to access the interface again. Just to cover all bases, its best if you clear the cache of historical navigation of the browser as well. As a last resort, do a hard reset (1 full minute) and try again. If all else fails, one can assume that the firmware of the gateway that is perhaps already damaged.

  • The WAG200G (EN) firmware update

    Hi all

I just bought this marked wireless modem/router "manufactured 01/2007", so I think it is wise to update its firmware?

Now, looking at the "Download" section of Linksys I found 2 versions newer than my WAG (dated 17/12/07 dated 04/04/07 1.01.04 and 1.01.06), then:

-How do I know what version of the firmware of my WAG is currently equipped with?

-Should I upgrade versions one after the other, or can I put it directly with the most recent version (1.01.06)?

The available Linksys download updates are coming as zipped ".img" files: how to treat?

Thanks in advance for your answers,

    See you soon

Hi, go to your admin. modem...

    (a) open Firefox or IE

    (b) type 192.168.1.1

type c) in your router username and password

default user is "admin" password is "admin".

    (d) glance at the upper right side of the screen, there is a small description that says "firmware version".

You can see what version of firmware you are on.

If you want to update, download the latest firmware in a zip file. Unzip the file to your desktop.

Assuming that you are still connected, go to Administration > Firmware Upgrade >

You will come to a screen where they ask you to order the location of the new firmware.

Browse until you reach the firmware (its an img file that you have unpacked above).

    Select upgrade

my humble opinion... just use for your new WAG200G for now and check if the current firmware update is really necessary.

his his works well, the authorization would be.

    Thank you

  • Remote Administration is NOT working at all - WAG200G

    Hi all

I recently placed a WAG200G to my home DSL and everything works fine.  I do portforwarding for my apps and all agree, except that I can't get the remote management works on the internet.  I tried with the default ports 8080 and personalized (5566, 77556, etc.) and none answer IE firefox or IE are upward in "cannot display the page" or "Connection reset".

"I read by train port 443 can work so tried, it appears the SSL warning to my wonderment, but once past security, towards ' cannot display the Page.  I also read 4899 port SHOULD BE OPEN to remote management work, but not clear what he meant by OPEN the port since the portforwarding section would not help pass a port to the gateway itself... isn't it?  I tried in vain with 4899 chosen as management port, as well.  Well, I used a WAG54GS recently which was not hard at all, just put any port and bingo remote management is in your hand.

I dyndns to collect my changing IPs, I've disabled the firewall and unchecked "lock anonymous Internet requests", SNMP is disabled assistant management remote etc...  I can also successfully telnet to my current host of property intellectual/dyndns public my remote management and telnet port is in.  So no ISP is no player here, its opening.

    What could be the cause?

Hi insaf_mohd. Try again using port 8080. Enable remote management, use port 8080 for the administration Port, and then click the Security tab and uncheck block anonymous requests WAN/Internet. Don't forget to save the settings. I hope this helps!

  • Still no solution to connect WAG200G drops?

Considering the issue for more than a year now, I wonder why it is not a solution for the connection mentioned the WAG200G drops? I'm on the new firmware now (1.01.08 (3)) but still all so many minutes: bam, lost the connection. Clear Red Internet, wait a few minutes and there it is again. Very annoying. I think about buying another brand.

I finally found the live chat on the set and talked to a specialist of Linksys (Daniel). He advised me to hard reset and the 1400 MTU value. So far two whole days with I guess a drop of connection, and that's all...

If it continues like this, I'm very very happy; a pretty big difference with connection drops every 10-15 minutes...

    Kudos to you, Daniel... !!

  • WAG200G as bridge for mobile WiFi for connected?

My broadband connection is available in via a mobile phone (Huawei Ascend P2) which is used to a hotspot Wi - Fi. My PC etc. to connect to this end. But I also want to connect to a VoIP box (Gigaset N300IP) and has an Ethernet connector. I think it should be possible to use my older WAG200G router as a bridge to bring the hot spot WiFi phone signal into the router and then connect the VoIP (and perhaps the PC too) on the router. However, I can't get the WAG200G to detect the WiFi signal. I have put in mode only bridge and fact its SSID and the channel, the same as the phone (otherwise how he'd find?) but it doesn't connect. What Miss me?

    Hello

The WAG200G is a Wireless G modem router ADSL residential and not a wireless bridge / Repeater / Extender. In my view, the settings you defined on the Bridge Mode is Encapsulation. Description for this setting is: only the DSL modem is available, and all router/gateway features are disabled. If selected, you just enter the VC settings.

On your scheduled installation, you can see these models: WUMC710 & WET610N.

  • [WAG200G] problem to connect to the modem cable Alloys Atlanta Dcp2203

    Hi all!

I recently got my new cable internet access (I used to have DSL) and I want to use my WAG200G to distribute internet by air.

When I connect my laptop to the Dcp2203 of Atlanta Alloys via ethernet, I get an external IP (200.XXX.XXX.XXX). I need to adjust my ethernet interface get ip dynamically to achieve this.

    Now I need to connect Dcp2203-(ethernet)---> WAG200G - wifi---> portable

How can I configure my WAG200G to work using this structure?

    Thanks to you all!

You can't really use your WAG here. You will need a router ethernet, not a DSL router.

The only thing you can do is use the WAG as access point and connect the laptop directly to the internet. This works as long as you don't want to connect a device to the internet at any time. You will not be able to connect 2 or more at the same time, because your ISP only allows you to have an active connection at any time.

To set this up, you will need to connect a computer to the WAG. Open the web interface of the WAG to http://192.168.1.1/ to first set up your wireless network (SSID, enable WPA2 Personal Security with AES encryption and a password strong change). Disable the DHCP server on the main settings page.

Then one of the ethernet wire ports of the WAG in your modem cable. Now you can connect wireless to the WAG and the WAG access to the internet and the modem. New: your computer will have direct access to the internet and will have a public IP address. You can't have two active connections at the same time.

If you need to make changes on the WAG, you set a static IP address on your computer, for example 192.168.1.2 with subnet mask 255.255.255.0. Then you can access the web at http://192.168.1.1/ interface when you have completed your changes, go back to the DHCP/Auto IP on your computer.

Otherwise, you should get a router, for example Wireless Linksys WRT routers.

  • Slow speeds with WAG200G

Hey guys, im getting really crappy download with my Linksys WAG200G speed (maximum download speed is 15 KB/s), which is less than dial up. I have the latest firmware I think which is 1.01.06 in date 17/12/2007. I changed the filter on the telephone jack that solved my connection dropping issues.

    Any help welcome

    Reset the WAG200G and reconfigure.

  • Wireless stopped working completely on WAG200G

Radio has stopped working completely on my WAG200G. I'm not talking only a weak signal. My phone or my laptop can see nothing even when there is only 1 m. Works always wired network and the wireless router lights, but they don't blink at all.

I tried a factory reset, but that did not work. Can it be fixed, or is it a hardware problem?

    Hi halfbeing,

When you searched a wireless network using your wireless devices, see Linksys? When you did a factory reset, the number of seconds you pressed the reset button? Light should be blinking.

  • WAG200G as bridge Mode does not wok

I have a WAG200G Modem ADSL Annex A, with the latest firmware.

I recently bought a Linksys E2000 to upgrade my wireless n, as well as to obtain 4-port gigabit Ethernet Ports for my SIN.

The problem is, I put WAG200G "bridge" mode, and since I've provided in E2000, PPPoE, credentials (username and password), it does not, no Internet connection!

Normally, with the WAG200G, PPPoE credential is defined as following (and it works)

    Type: PPPoE

    Multiplexing: LLC

    Virtual circuit: '0' for the VPI (0 ~ 255) and "33" for VCI (0 ~ 65535)

    Option "Keep Alive".

E2000 router, PPPoE has no option above for me to choose. Field of user name and password only

Can someone point me to the right direction?

    Thanks for any help

You disconnect the connection on the WAG200G until you try to establish a new connection to the E2000? Some ISPS have strict policies allowing only one internet connection active at any time. In this case, if you do not remove the old connection your ISP "locks" your username for this connection. If you don't disconnect the connection should expire after a few minutes or hours maybe.

    Try this:

Make the connection with the WAG200G PPPoE. Clear the option 'Keep-Alive '. And then in the State of the WAG200G page disconnect the connection. Click on 'Status' in the top menu to verify that the connection is disconnected. Now, reconfigure the WAG200G in Bridge mode, connect the E2000 and attempt to establish a connection between the E2000.

You can also try to connect the computer directly to the WAG200G in Bridge mode and establish a PPPoE connection on the computer. I guess the computer will have the same trouble connecting under the E2000.

  • WAG200G ethernet ports problem

    Howdy,

I have problems connecting via ethernet to my WAG200G. Everything was working fine a week ago, but now, nothing.

The problem occurs only with a computer and tried troubleshooting on site without success.

When I connect the ethernet cable from my computer to the modem/router, I don't get a light on the front panel on one of the ports. I have changed the cables, ports, disabled ZoneAlarm and firewalls and nothing comes up. I checked the ethernet connection from the computer to a different computer and it works fine.

On another computer, I have no problem connecting to ports and can confirm that 1-4 work and lights.

    Any ideas? Thank you!

Thanks for the help - after more research found is not at all a problem of Linksys, but an automatic Windows Update which is in conflict with the Realtek driver.
