Wallpaper base of Windows Vista has been lost
My Red Cardinal bird Desktop background has been lost and I want to. I don't know what happened to this wallpaper.
Hi CU Agent,.
If this comes to pass, try a restore of the system to a point BEFORE the problem started. Here is the procedure: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/76905-system-restore-how.html. Don't forget to check the box to show more than 5 days of restore points. If the first attempt fails, then try an earlier point or two. NOTE: You will need to re-install any software and updates that you have installed and uninstall any software that you have removed between now and the point of restoration, but you can use Windows Update for updates.
I hope this helps.
Good luck!

Hello
I'm stuck on the screen on my computer for my Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit edition. The password to the user account has been lost, and now I am unable to access my computer. I don't have a created password reset disk so I can't reset the password. I searched these forums and seems the most effective way is to run a system restore to a time where I did have a password for my account. Fortunately for me, I did an automatic update of Windows that created a system restore point literally moments before I put the password, so I should be able to get access to my computer once I figured out how to get system restore to work. The advice I found on other forums do not seem to work, because I'm in my Windows vista operating system disc, but no screen is coming up with 'Repair your computer', which indicate the steps happen. I need assistance to find another way to run the system restore on boot menus/Vista/DVD CD. Thank you.Go to Bestbuy or other PC shop. They can fix it for you. (Could I have so I am not allowed to post these alternative instructions.)

My pc is a Lenovo IdeaPad u330 that running Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit. I have 3 PC over a wireless home network. Recently, I have been instructed by the Lenovo Support telephone call center to enter "cmd" in the Task Manager, did so and was taken to the black C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe screen. I had to then enter "cmk", did and received message next-'cmk' is not recognized as internal or external command, an executable program or batch file. Support staff advised that this indicated my pc has been seriously infected and needed immediate attention. My pc works well and I have McAfee installed, having received no warning and a complete analysis of all recommended system was OK. Should I worry or the person was just trying to sell a service? Thank you.

Hello
There are no KMC program or command on most computers. So, if we had to
to be a CMK on Lenovo computer (or you) should have Add.Did you call Lenovo support, or maybe it was one of those false calls trying to get
money or your personal information? Hard to believe that Lenovo would use these tactics
trying to sell a program or service.Check with Lenovo support and forums.

My computer caught a SERIOUS virus that damaged my beta Windows Vista together. So I've upgraded to Windows 7, however, I have not the key product for Windows Vista or 7. Is it possible to set this up with Windows Vista or 7 because my product key for computers, which was at the back of it, has been erased or worn. There is no name on the back of my laptop sticker saying what product key to use. Thank you!

What virus? How did you know you had it? You run an anti-virus
the program? Which one? Is it updated? Why don't you use not to
remove the virus?So I had to upgrade to Windows 7,
Ugh! The upgrade to a different version of Windows does not remove a virus. In
did the upgrade when you have a problem is always a bad
thing to do and will be much more likely to make the problem worse than in
solve it.However, I have not the key product for Windows Vista or 7.
Where have you upgraded to Windows 7? Upgrade to a
legitimate version Windows7 is a bad thing, but if you went to one
a pirated version, it is likely to cause additional problems and you
are probably in trouble now and need to clean install a
copy legitimate of some versions of Windows.Is there a way to set up in Windows Vista or 7 because

Windows it came with and may not be used for all other versions. If you
don't have a product key for Vista or Windows 7, the laptop
no doubt supplied with XP. Is this correct?If it came with XP, it is very old and it is almost certainly elsewhere
low power for Windows 7. In addition the drivers you need for Windows
7 there are almost certainly not, and you will not be able to run
Windows 7 on it.At this point, you are probably in trouble no matter what you do. You
must reinstall Windows XP itself, but you no longer have your
product key and you probably haven't a Windows XP CD no more. You
can try to ask the manufacturer of the laptop to a XP CD and product
key, but I doubt if you can get at this late date.You can buy a copy of Windows 7, but once, you are likely in a way
low power for the drivers you need and it will be unavailable.Ken Blake (MS-MVP)

I need help restoring Windows Vista on my computer. Please help this is finals week and I need my computer to take my final.
Vista recovery media obtain and/or use the Partition Recovery Vista on your computer to the factory settings .
There is no Vista free download legal available.
Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.
Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Also ask them if it is possible to make the recovery disk/s since the Partition of recovery in case of hard drive failure or System Crash when you're back running.
They will tell you how to do this.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.
Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
Windows Vista has been installed twice on my PC, I can remove one?
Windows Vista is installed on my laptop twice. Is there a way to delete one of them? If so, how?
You don't say what divides, or how and why you have 2 installs.
The best way is to start > wipe both installs > reinstall correctly.
And don'ts that confused with an Installation of Vista recovery drive.
See you soon.
It just seems to be a loop.
Hi Linda,.
Thank you for your response.
Here are some steps that you can try in order to solve the problem.
I suggest you to change the startup command sequence and select the hard disk. Then, follow the steps provided by Abdul R and an update with the results.
If you still get the same error message, disable the floppy in BIOS drive and check.
You can see the manual of the system manufacturer or contact the system manufacturer for more information on how to make the changes in the BIOS.
Note: changes to the BIOS/complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.
If the problem persists, or you have questions about Windows, do not hesitate to let us know. We will be happy to help you.
How to open encrypted, if the key has been lost in XP?
I reinstall my Windows xp, but I can not open my encrypted data. My encrypt key has been lost
There is no backdoor to EFS encryption. This is why it is so important to backup your encryption certificates when using EFS. Refer to the following article, paying special attention to the paragraph "why you should back up your certificates"
