Want help to choose ram.

Hello

I'm working on (very) slowly upgrading to an old HP desktop to a gaming PC, I have almost everything except the CPU, motherboard and Ram scrapped.

I have it transplanted into the NZXT S340, and it has been working fine since.

When playing games, specifically Arma 3 there have been few crashes related to memory, and I believe the horribly slow 4 GB of installed RAM is a failure and even if it isn't, which I doubt, it retains all the other components, it is constantly in maxed out and what I do I am in desperate need of an upgrade.

So I was looking around for memory that would be compatible with the MS-7613 (Iona-GL8E), I struggled to find a lot of information but this page: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02014355 , who said the specs of ram max I could hae is 1333 mhz/16gbs in 4x4g sticks. I went out hunting and found this: http://cplonline.com.au/corsair-8gb-2x4g-cmv8gx3m2a1333c9-ddr3-1333mhz-memory.html that looks as if it would fit perfectly, and I would be able to keep when I update the strong mother/memory card because it is 1333 mhz and most motherboards support, however I have some concerns:

-As the motherboard is old, the rest of the information is not the best, and I'm worried, it won't be compatible.

-Use Speccy Piriforms, it says that I have currently 866 mhz (I think, I just reformat and have not installed) Ram installed, however, the document shows the speed minimum is 1066, what worries me.

Is there any ram that is specifically designed to work with this motherboard, or who is confirmed to work in Australia? If possible I would like to work with motherboards more recent when I update the current material.

Unfortunately I can't get a product name, I lost when I transplanted it and I can't find the software that tells you... Regret that, although I don't know that I am currently running an i7 870 2.93 ghz, 4gbs of ram Samsung and the above motherboard.

Thanks for any help!

Never mind.  I found a bit of HP pavilion PC desktop that comes with the same motherboard.

It seems that the upgrade, it will be quite inexpensive. You can improve it to 16 GB for about $85.00 USD. That will make your pretty sweet game.

Since you are in Australia

You place your order of Crucial RAM of Australia

In Australia, it's a little more expensive for OEM HP memory modules.

It comes to earlier put that on for some reason any got locked and marked "assumed answered", when in fact it wasn't.

Eldorado reported me to the answer of Markus77. Thank you, but Markus77 or Eldorado say they tried the modules that listed there and actually pushed them to work in a Tecra 9100. The link in the response of Markus77 only points to one of the many similar provider sites I've seen, who say that the 2x512MB modules are supported. The point is, Lewislite had tried about 5 different brands/replacements and none of them were all-purpose, that they either slow his system or it could not start at all.

I asked, because I want to upgrade my current 512 MB too, if someone had actually he managed successfully on a Tecra 9100, or if it is one of those rare instances of a model with a motherboard that is insufficient to hold over the limit prescribed by the manufacturer, which for the 9100 by Toshiba 512 MB of cache. Maybe because most of the laptops will accept 2x512MB, suppliers assume just the 9100 will do too and so offer them to anyone willing to buy them. But has anyone actually done and got to work?

The fact that Toshiba are 512 MB modules is not in itself a response, because they could be directed to other models. The fact remains that Toshiba say the maximum the 9100 is 512 MB, and Lewislite tried 5 different modules to try to go beyond that and found that none of them would be.

Then, everybody in fact successful to do a better job Tecra 9100 with more than 512 MB or have memory suppliers are mistaken for this model?

Had a look at the detailed Tecra 9100 here: http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/home.jsp?nav=Download

It shows that Kingston 512 MB KTT3614/512 RAM is compatible. I am assuming that you can run Modules 2 x 512 MB.

Make sure you use PC2100 DDR memory. PC2700 should work, but there may be a compatibility issue.

It will help in cases where the applications require more than 4 GB of RAM.  Otherwise, there will be no noticeable difference.  If you really want to increase the speed, an SSD is the best option.  They cost about 3 x's + more than a traditional HDD of same capacity...

I bought an Aspire One opportunity. On the device, the model number is listed as AO532h-2588. When I enter the S/N and look it up on the Acer website it is listed as AO532h-2Db. I want to move the RAM to 2 GB. Former model, then tried to keep the cheap. I see 200 pin DDR2 667 MHz PC2-5300 SODIMM as given common spec as far as RAM goes. Even through different products of PC. Is this all I get? That the annex-2588 or - 2Db question of difference in the review of correct choice? Thanks for your help!

    I need to stick with 200 pin DDR2 667 MHz PC2 - 5300 SODIMM? Yes

But I can go up to 800 MHz. good. PC2-5300 and SODIMM is critical to search? No, but it will be worse to run (little).

  • Please help me choose a host operating system.

I know that it's almost a religion, what people choose as their host for vmware workstation operating system.  So, I'll give you as many details as possible about my situation and maybe this well informed community can help me choose a good generation.

    So here's my situation.

I want to be able to run esxi cluster on a laptop computer at r2 within vmware workstation, and then to the breast of this windows cluster 08, linux (various distributions server and desktop), windows 7, windows xp,.   I know it's a little aggressive, so I install the equipment as follows:

    2760qm (quad core 2.4 ghz)

16 GB of ram (to start I'm going up to 32 shortly)

    120 GB ssd drive

    1 gb ethernet.

Everything on a thinkpad mobile w520.

    So up to the requirements.

I want a host with overhead operating system resources and footprint of small disk, stability and good performance.   I am very familiar with windows of all flavors.  I am a novice on linux and a total noob to BSD.  I'm comfortable from any platform that I'm a fast learner.

My number one preference would be stability.  Number two would be performance.  Number 3 is marked by record low (because of small ssd), number 4 ease of use...   So there you have it.  I read all the research that I met and they all seem to be pre2010 and vary enormously in the opinions.  So I ask this question even in a more modern than laptops Kingdom now take some very nice hardware configurations.

If you have the choice between XP 64 and Windows 7 - choose XP 64. It will be surpassed Windows 7 with any effort.
    Even better 2003 64.
In my experience the worst choice is Win 2008 R2 - he has the most problems.

Reminder: here at home I run win 7-64, 2008 R2 and 32 2003 Enterprise in dualboot on a variety of 8 GB of RAM
I compare the performance directly since version 6.5
The 2003 EE overcomes the other 2 when it comes to VMware performance significantly

  • helping you choose an imac of 2015

    Hi all

I looking for a new or slightly used imac 27 "and trying to do a good price by value of choice.

My main uses are Photoshop, video editing, and AE. NOT a gamer.

I need this machine to last at least 5-6 years to justify the expense.

    My options:

    Basic model (MK462LL):

    3.2 GHz-1 TB drive 7200 RPM - M380 GPU (all nine + 2 year guarantee)

Next (MK472LL) - level price increase of $220:

    Disc fusion of 3.2 GHz - 1 to - M390 GPU (all nine + 2 year guarantee)

The highest level (MK482LL) - another $445 (which is more than the base model $ 665):

    Fusion drive 3.3 GHz - 2 TB - M395 GPU (all nine + 2 year guarantee)

Last option: a gently used, 9 months, MK482LL (same features as above) with more than 2 years left of apple care. This one costs $255 higher than the lower (first) option.

It is a small price, given a brand new, just as it costs only $300 more.

How notable are the differences of GPU? (Benchmarks don't mean a thing to me. I'm talking real life use).

The price difference between the first 2 levels is not huge, but is it justifiable?

I don't like how long it takes to start, but once your applications are running, the 24 GB SSD does make a difference? (There is no place in it for rendering and video files)

Is it useful to make expensive option that has the merger of 2 TB drive (I need not space) just because of its 128 GB SSD? It is NECESSARY to have the largest disk if I want to increase the RAM up to 32 or 64 (Finally I)?

    Your opinion would be appreciated!

That I lived the same thing you're going through. Finally, I chose option 3. I'll tell... I'm just a regular old guy, no retouching photo, music, editing, none of these technical stuff, computer stuff comes every day. I must say, I always choose the highest level things. So after in-depth reflection and a lot of web research, option 3 has been obvious. I doubled the RAM 16 GB. It's a great machine, I got it 6 days ago and I have no regrets. That being said, my old computer was a 2013 high-end Dell configured with an SSD, so far I can't tell the difference, speed of the sage. Choose option 3, best GPU, CPU and the fusion of 2 TB disk has a larger SSD. When spending a lot of money, do not cut corners you'll regret it in the long term. Good luck!

  • Satellite Pro 4600: I want to upgarde the RAM

I want to upgarde the RAM on my satellite pro 4600. It currently has 128 MB of RAM.
Anyone know what kind of memory card should I buy and how to install it?
    Should what size I go?
I've been in the PC World and they weren't much help.
Any ideas / information gratefully received.
    See you soon,.
    Bob.

    Hi Bob,

The following link will take you to a page containing all relevant information on memeory upgrades for your 4600 (including part numbers.

    http://www.orcalogic.co.UK/ASP/ProdType.asp?ProdType=5778&ft=m&St=3

I think that your device has two memory slots, and I assume that you currently have a home in use with 128 MB of RAM installed (the 4600 had 64 MB or 128 MB).

RAM modules are available in sizes 64 MB, 128 MB and 256 MB.

The maximum that you can install is 512 MB (i.e. 2 X 256 MB modules. The amount that you need will depend greatly on what applications run you as well as what operating system, but the usual recommendation is a minimum of 512 MB for windows XP (at least for the earlier OS).

The RAM modules are normally accessed from the bottom of the unit. Normally, there is a cover with 2 or more screws. Check you manual for the exact location on your device.

  • Satellite M70-131 - I want to add more RAM

    Hello

    I have a Satellite M70-131
    Part number: PSM70E-01500RAR

I want to add more RAM, because I know you have to check three points to buy a new:
    -How can I add?
    -The type of RAM?
-The number of the BIOS or BUS?

I'm not sure about the third point, I know that I can add to 2G, and the type of RAM is DDR2.
But if I have the right point, how can I check the number (BIOS or BUS)? Because I tried to add one, but did ' t work!

    Help me please
    Thnx 4 all

    Hello!

The Satellite M70-131 can be upgraded to 2 GB of RAM and you have already said you need DDR2 RAM.
Specification for RAM is DDR2 400/533 and you can add two modules with 1 GB of capacity of each module. The reference is PA3411U-1M1G.

What do you mean with many BUS and BIOS? This has nothing to do with an upgrade of RAM.

    Good bye

I want to get more ram to a Satellite 1400-253 s but crucial tell me that they can not guarantee compatibility because there is no updated BIOS meet the new jedec standards.
Should I be waiting for an update of the Bios or try to find the old memory compatible, or is this model too old now?

    Hello

I found some info on this unit and hope this will help you. According to the specs of this device comes with 128 MB of RAM and can be updated up to 1024 MB. Memory compatible with this camera modules are:

    PC133 512 MB (PA3108U - 1 M 51)
    PC133 256 MB (PA3086U - 1 M 25)
    PC133 128 MB (PA3085U - 1 M 12)

Check how many modules of 512 MB of costs. If they are not expensive, you can buy two of them and the use of RAM max. In this case your device will work much, much faster.

    Thank you, Dmitry.

I don't think that TO_CHAR can do by itself.  You should maybe call TO_CHAR and then manipulate the output a bit.

Looks like TO_CHAR with 1 single argument does exactly what you want except when it returns a string starting with a decimal point, in which case you want to concatenate a '0'.  So call TO_CHAR with 1 argument, see if returns the string begins with a decimal point and, if so, put a '0' on it, like this:

    WITH got_str AS

    (

    SELECT n

    TO_CHAR (n) AS str

    FROM the data

    )

    SELECT n

    CASE

    WHAT LIKES str '. %'

    THEN "0". Str

    Of ANOTHER str

    END AS str0

    OF got_str

    ;

    Output:

    STR0 N

    ---------- -----------------------------------------

    0,123.123

    12345678-12345678

    12345678.1 12345678.1234

    12345678.1 12345678.123

    12.0000001 12.00000008

What do you want for greater than-1 negative numbers?  You may need to make the CASE a little more complicated expression, like this:

    WITH got_str AS

    (

    SELECT n

    TO_CHAR (n) AS str

    FROM the data

    )

    SELECT n

    CASE

    WHAT LIKES str '. %'

    THEN "0". Str

WHEN the str LIKE '. %'

    THEN '-0 "|" SUBSTR (str, 2)

    Of ANOTHER str

    END AS str0

    OF got_str

    ;
