Want to 750se Desktop: Add an SSD to WANT 750se Desktop as boot drive

Hi guys,.

I intend to add an SSD on my desk of envy that the system and put the original as the secondary drive hard disk. So my first question is do I need additional cords as the power supply cord and the cord from the motherboard? Or they were pre-installed in the case? And the second question is how can I move my 64-bit Windows 7 system from the old drive to the new? With the help of recovery system or ask HP to send me a Win 7 DVD?

Thank you!

Vigoss, welcome to the forum.

You will need to open the case to see if there is a SATA power cable and SATA data cable.  Otherwise, you can buy an adapter 'Y' to add an extra of each.  You will need an adapter to allow the SSD to fit into a 3.5 Bay "2.5".  Some of the readers have included.  If this isn't the case, you can order one at the same time you order the SSD.

The best way to transfer the contents of your HARD drive in the SSD uses the cloning software.  Most manufacturer include it with their readers.  When I added my SSD (Samsung EVO 840 - 500 GB SSD) at my office, I left the HARD drive in place and connected the SSD to another SATA port on the motherboard.  You install the hard drive cloning software and open it.  It will ask you to select the drive you want to use as the target.  That would be your SSD.  When the data has been transferred, you can disconnect the HARD drive and the start-up of the SSD.  Once it starts, you can close it and move the SSD to the Bay you want to use.  The HARD disk can be formatted and used as a storage device.

  • EliteBook. Can I install W7 on the mini map SSD and use it as a boot drive?

    Hey.

I would use this machine for the development of the Oracle (as its predecessor has been certified for Red Hat).

During the construction of the machine in the options that I have chosen the SUSE operating system, I intend to replace it later

Oracle Linux. I also eliminated all the useless material to reduce any incompatabilities and maximize the

the battery life requiring the de-selection of Windows.

However, regarding the update the firmware of the machine, no firmware Linux we don't update which

means that I have access to the Windows operating system, which means having to buy a copy of W7 and

somehow get their hands on the necessary HP downloads, I hope that free space to download!

I read some articles saying that it is possible to use the SSD 120 GB card mini as a bootable disk

as long as it's SATA and NOT of PCI. The build options have such as a SATA drive which is also confirmed

    in the document also QuickSpecs although a SATA3 / 6 GB/s.

Can anyone confirm if the mini-map SSD can actually be used as a startup disk?

    Thanks for the reply.

I tried to access the facilities to help HP, but they require the serial numbers or contracts of service etc.

In any case, when the construction of the machine without complaints were made on no valid primary storage.

Also in the link below in the internal storage section, it states that if the SSD 2242 m2

Mini card is selected (assuming that that means that the primary boot disk) and then apparently any other

HDD or SSD can be designated as a secondary drive.

I think this has answered my question in a roundabout way and indirect that still leaves one

nagging doubt. It's maybe just me to be obsessive compulsive.

Analysis of reading other sites, it seems that this type of device is the main drive for a certain number of

    other ultra books / chrome.

  • Replace the HHD Pavilion m7 with SSD boot drive

I have a Samsung 840 Evo SSD that I managed to install in the 2nd internal drive Bay. It works great as a second internal drive, but I want to make the boot drive for Windows 8.1 or simply swap with the internal HD, which is the current startup disk.

I used the program Samsung disk magician to clone the internal HD to the SSD, but it does not appear in the BIOS, so I can't select it as your startup disk. I tried to boot from the SSD with the internal HD disconnected and it fails, apparently because the laptop does not see the operating system on it.

I updated the BIOS to F.29, which is the current version, but the SSD simply does not appear in the BIOS.

    Any help is most appreciated!

Go to disk management and check if the SSD is an indicator of STARTING activated. Use Gparted: http://gparted.org/

  • Add the SSD for HP Pavilion desktop computer

    Hello

I would like to add an SSD for my HP Pavilion 500-035ed (office). I do not want to replace the existing drive, I would add a second drive.

I have already noticed a free sata connection and a free power cable, but I didn't notice a physical position for the support and the screws etc...

Does anyone know if there is a manual that describes the physical position for a 2nd drive in HP Pavilion 500-035ed (office)?

    Thanks in advance,

    Hello

Look at the picture below and see if your model is configured for one SSD installation.

I see that your particular model is native/sold to the Netherlands.  There is a forum member that frequents this forum who lives in the Netherlands. Hmmmm that's a good guy!

  • HP Envy 750-197c Desktop: you can add a SSD internal flash disk to the envy of HP 750-197c Desktop

You can add an internal SSD to the envy of HP 750 - 197c Desktop that has a 2 TB drive installed?

    DMSIceman, welcome to the forum.

Yes, you can move the HARD disk and install an SSD.  You will need to buy at least a 128 GB SSD.  Here is the data sheet for the computer.

The best way to install an SSD is to leave the current HARD drive as it came from the factory.  Connect the SSD drive to another SATA port on the motherboard.  Install the software of Migration data provided by the SSD manufacturer on the HARD drive.  Once installed, open it and follow the instructions carefully.  You choose the SSD as a target.  After the data is transferred from the HDD to the SSD, you can disconnect the HARD drive and start the computer.  It should start on the SSD.  Then, you can disconnect the SSD to the first SATA connector and move to another Bay HARD drive and connect it to another SATA port on the motherboard.  You can use it for storage.

I like the SSD Samsung EVO.  Samsung offers its data Migration software to clone HARD drive.  In addition, they provide their software Wizard to optimize the performance of the SSD.  You can find all the software at the bottom of the page in the link I provided for the EVO.  The Samsung SSD were good about starting in HP computers without changing the BIOS settings.  You will need to buy an adapter to allow the reader to 2.5 "to fit into a 3.5 Bay".

  • S50 satellite - B - 15 p - it is possible to add addional SSD or HARD drive?

    Hello

    I recently bought a laptop Satellite S50 - B - 15 p.
    I'm very happy with it

My question is about its SSD drive
    It is now 128 GB.

It is possible to add addional SSD or HDD.

Or replace the current by the new with a higher capacity.

    My best regards

I don't have this model of laptop, but according to some pictures I found isn't Googling around this model of laptop SSD? HARD drive covers in the lower corner, therefore, as a general rule, these updates is not supported and should not be done by the owner of the laptop.
If you want to have full access to the SSD, you must remove the lower cover and it can be done by authorized personnel only. If you try to do it yourself you will void the warranty.

In my opinion, you should contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help or, at least, good advice what to do about it.

  • Apple will add an SSD for my imac end 2012

I have an imac end of 2012.  I want to add, and SSD drive to it to increase the speed of loading.  I use photoshop and then CC.  I really don't want to do it myself and can not find anywhere on the apple support site information they will or how long it would take.  Any thoughts?

You need find an authorized service center Apple close to home first.

Go to this page, click and fill in the information in the https://locate.apple.com/package.

Apple stores won't work, but an authorized provider can.  Give one of your

choice a call and see if they provide such a service.

I strongly suggest an authorized service center, because they are familiar with Apple products

Unlike a "generic" PC repair workshop

Another alternative to internal installation, would be to get a USB3 or SSD Thunderbolt

or housing USB3 or Thunderbolt and install your own SSD.  Although the external hard drive

may not be as fast compared with installed internally, it will still be a major improvement

on a standard HARD drive.  Install the operating system and your files on it and use on the inside as a backup.

    Hello

mSata differs from SATA, and there SSD that are msata and SATA SSD. You will need to decide how you want yourself. If you want an msata player then it will go into the ports of m you have shown, but if you want a SATA SSD then you connect just like disk main HARD that is there now is also a SATA type.

  • Can I add an SSD to a P500?

I just bought a P500 and have a chance to get a 120 GB SSD at a good price (Kingston HyperX 3 K). Is there a replacement part I can implement? I don't want to replace the HARD drive, necessarily, I would add the ssd. I put the OS and applications on it and use the disk of data, files, music, etc. I searched the Lenovo site more Google and could not find an answer to this question. Thank you!

    Hello
There is no separate a full-size sata SSD array. You will need to either use the msata slot or Exchange it with the primary hard drive

  • V3-112 p-C3CM add an SSD

    Hi all

I have a V3-112 p-C3CM here for someone who wants more storage. After opening the unit I noticed that there is space for a 2.5 hard drive and also solder points but no normal connection.

So my question. Is it possible to add a SSD or other hard disk of 2.5 inches and someone if it's possible could give the link for the product.

It does not seem to anchor screw it, but it is not just to sit on the solderpads. It should be soldered on the map.

The next thing would find the part. Acer will not this part provide.

This motherboard is available for the best offer + whatever it would cost to ship it. What is your customer willing to pay for more storage?

  • How to add the SSD to Aspire 703

I want to add an SSD for my Aspire AXC - 703 G-uw51. The idea would be to make 'C' and use the disk hard existing as a backup. Two internal drives can be installed in this model?

your PC has only 2 sata ports, so if you want to add an SSD, you must disconnect the DVD player.

  • New Inspiron 3650 - how to add an SSD

I recently got my new i7 Inspiron 3650 with a 2 TB HARD drive. I need to add an SSD to the machine and need advice on how to do it.

First question is: is it possible for one SSD + HDD in this computer? Or is it limited to a single player?

Open the case, I see that there are 4 units of SATA data cable (2 available) on the card mother, however there is no available additional power cable. The single power cable has two connectors, a session on the HARD drive and the other to the DVD player. How can I add another cable or splitter to route power to the SSD?

In addition, there are available for a 2.5 drive bays ", but I need an enclosure for mounting the drive. Is there an add-on Dell blue plastic mounting kits available for this? Otherwise, I can get the generic Assembly for this kits.

I would appreciate if any part numbers/accessories from Dell can be recommended to achieve this.

    Thank you.

    Hi Hkhawaja,

Yes, you can certainly have an SSD and a HARD drive, and I suppose you want to put the OS on the SSD.

This thread offers answers to some of your questions. And here is the link to your manual.

I have a link below for a very nice Windows reinstallation guide, which will help you to download an ISO of 10 Windows you can use to install the OS on the new drive.

It can be larger than 32 GB, but it is not the boot drive and its only real function is as a cache of acceleration for the main mechanical hard drive, for which really impossible to use something bigger.
