want to DUMP windows 7 and go back to Vista

Hey old77mountainman

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a set of vista recovery disc

they do it for a nominal cost

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard disk to reinstall vista back to factory standards

you normally start the recovery at startup process by pressing F10 or F11 etc.

Ask them of the correct key sequence

and see if the information on the link below applies to you on the windows.old folder

This article describes how to manually restore a previous Windows installation on the computer to replace the current installation of Windows 7.

To do this, you must use the command prompt, and you must type specific commands at the prompt to rename and move folders between the different versions of Windows.

  • I want to uninstall the upgrade of windows 7 and go back to Vista.

This device comes preinstalled with Vista so that I only have the recovery disks that I made when I first set up the computer.  How can I uninstall the upgrade of windows 7 and reinstall Vista?

    BogeyB,

If you have made a real upgrade (overlay on Vista), you might be surprised.  Click on the computer and open the D Recovery drive.  Open the folder named Recovery. Look at the bottom left corner.

What is the date of creation?  Mine is from 2007.  I do not superimpose WIN 7 until 2011, but the recovery is still 2007.

It's actually your full version of Vista recovery... it didn't get deleted or altered, except if you did.

  • I want to uninstall Windows 8 and install Windows 7

    HP ENVY m6-1125dx Notebook PC

My laptop came with Windows 8. I really don't like Windows 8, it is too restrictive. I want to uninstall Windows 8 and install Windows 7. How to go? Where can I get the operating system and driver software.

Should I buy Windows 7 separately? Or can I use the same key?

Before installing Windows 7, can I suggest an idea?

I had the same problem: I'm a Windows 7 user who bought a laptop Windows 8 and don't really like the Metro user interface. It is half cooked for desktop/laptop computer, several apps to not scroll horizontally with the touchpad, etc, etc.

But what I did install a simple program called "Debut8" (http://www.stardock.com/products/start8/) that still allows me to go right at the part 8 Windows desktop and use it as I have Windows 7. The advantage of this approach is that you get the benefits of the internal improvement of Windows 8 (some improvements in performance on Windows 7, etc.) and do not have the hassle/cost of installing Windows 7. You can also try a GPL program called Classic Shell (http://classicshell.sourceforge.net/). So far I am happy with debut8 as a solution.

Anyway, worth before going through the cost and difficulty of installing Windows 7.

Boot from the Windows 7 Desktop
Insert your Windows 7 installation DVD

When the installation menu appears, click on "Upgrade".
This will upgrade your existing installation during the updating of the existing system files. Your personal files, settings, and installed applications will be preserved.

    Hello

    1. you try to perform a new installation of Windows 7?

    2. where did you buy the Windows 7 DVD?

This particular message occurs generally if you try to perform an upgrade on the spot of a recovery disc or installation support OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) that contains a custom defined configuration and can't stand not running an upgrade installation.

The message means that you probably need to start using the installation media. You can also contact the manufacturer of your computer to determine the type of installation media that you have and to confirm what options are available when booting from the disc.

  • Want to Rove 20-ko14us: extremely slow want Rove 20 - Windows 8 and 10

I got this computer from a guy who had tried to do a clean install of windows 10. He was stuck in the cycle of install it and he couldn't fix it. He created several additional partitions on the hard disk.

I was able to complete the installation of windows 10 but not activate it. After an hour on the online chat with Microsoft, I was able to retrieve the product code. I then had to go back to windows 8 and then move to 10.

Because the system is so slow, who has taken far too many hours but I got the upgrade and activation to work.

On a good start to 04:30 minutes to get started with the home page and have the activity wheel stop. If I do a restart it takes twice longer.

I installed all the updates of windows 10 and drivers HP for windows 10. Nothing seems to have helped. I even opened the computer to check the excesses of dust and reinstallation of the memory and HD connections.

I run several different diagnostic programs and found some problems with the HD. I left the software fix, and then the OS did a scan / repair started upward. I simply fill out a deep analysis of the HD with no problems found.

I am suspecting something at the hardware level or HD is causing slow operations. It is the first hybred HD that I used and wonder if I change it for one SSD drive that in order to speed up the system.

Has anyone else had this trouble? If so, what was the cause and fix it?

    Thank you

Just walk through the new VM Wizard by selecting the version of Windows using your and if you use upgrade media, and then use the information contained in "[clean install Windows 7 with upgrade Media | ]. "[http://www.winsupersite.com/Win7/clean_install_upgrade_media.asp]" to the install/activate.

You can delete the virtual Windows XP Machine after you have saved your user data and you have Windows 7 upwards and running unless you don't have enough space to have both.  CTR-click simply the target virtual machine on the Machine's virtual library and select Delete.
